Arkane games always have a CGI concept trailer before they have a gameplay trailer. And the gameplay is usually pretty in-line with what the CGI trailer shows. I'm not worried.

One of the weaker elements of Dishonored 2 was the fact that the two characters felt barely different from each other story-wise. In 90% of the situations, they said the same exact shit. If this is single player, then I hope the campaigns of each character are actually different and not just different powers across the same maps with the same story.

I'm the opposite. Finished all Dishonored games and DLCs, barely got over 10% of Nu-Prey. I don't think it's bad, it just didn't hook me.

Corvo was an afterthought/fanservice I think.

I think it's single player, where you have an enemy that follows you throughout locations, you can probably pick one or the other and they have their own skills and shit. Multiplayer would be awesome but I think it would work well as single player, and the way they talked about "specially crafted levels" makes me definitely think single player was the objective.

I like the aesthetics, it reminds me of A Very Secret Service so 60's France in essence

They'll probably start the game thinking they're the only one in the loop but probably after the other kills them using infos they had no way to know (like immediatly shooting at their hiding spot or whatever), they'll figure out the other is like them.

I'm confused as to how the whole bloody thing will work. I'm assuming whoever you're not playing as will be an NPC that will seek you out as you are walking around the island trying not to die, and you may need to kill him/her every loop, and as you explore you find codes opening doors / secret passages / new abilities that gradually open the world and the plot to you. And I suppose that to force you to repeat this gameplay loop the world naturally reset after a while.

Now it has potential if the other character starts as clueless as you, and maybe has their own thing going on the island, and maybe stalking him/her if you're stuck is a valid way to pick up clues you might've missed.

There's definitely powers. Lee can force-push people and Grown Clementine can blink. They wouldn't put that in the trailer and not have it in the game.

That's why I'm hoping it's multiplayer or at least has a multiplayer mode. It just seems to fit the premise much better.

I loved Dishonored 1 and Prey, and liked DH2.
Hopefully this game will be good, if it's anything like Mooncrash, I'm sold. That game is fantastic and underrated

The Dishonored franchise is already dead, unfortunately.

From what I got from the trailer, the girl wants to preserve the loop, and the dude wants to break it. So I suppose that whenever you die, it resets like in a rogue-lite and when you kill her, you move on to the next iteration.

There won't be another Dishonored game and we'll never get a chance to see Tyvia or Padyssia.

Agreed, this is something i've been waiting for from the very first game and desired even more after reading the novel. Image soviet monumental architecture + classic 1800s imperialistic aesthetic in game. They shouldn't get rid of the Outsider, this was a no-return move.

As great as Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider were in general, they messed up the plot pretty bad. I thought for sure the series would have been more of an anthology, with main characters from previous games merely making a cameo or being referenced in newspapers. Every new character would have in common that The Outsider gets interested in them and gives them powers to see what happens.

But whatever, the games were still good, so its not the end of the world.

I wonder if it's going to be randomized in some way. Instead of having a linear progression of power-ups in a level-based environment it would be interesting if you simply had to deal with the hand you were dealt, with an open environment that admits different approaches. Something like

So basically every time you die you lose all of your powers and items, but your conflict with the main antagonist transcends time so you don't lose your overall progress.
