and why is snoy so obsessed with it?
Why do they hate exclusivity so much?
because they have more than one platform to profit from and no sense in competing with themselves
They don’t care about hardware they care about selling games, licensing fees and reoccurring subscriptions they only offer the Xbox as a lower cost entry point for the mass market.
MS are based and want PC gamers to experience everything
Sony only want their tranny fanbase to play their movies
Exclusivity is anti-consumer cancer, take from that what you will.
The games are exclusive to a Microsoft platform regardless.
Playstation has the biggest share in Snoy's revenue, So they need to force people to buy/subscribe their consoles/services etc to be relevant corporation. Sony could die without Playstation.
Microsoft will be ok without xbox at all. They make money from b2b and windowz
Exclusives are dying and it's thanks to microsoft
Because Microsoft is a real company that profits in more ways than selling walking sims and interactive movies.
They know their target audience
>XChads just want to play with more people
>Snoys are fine with the biggest turd ever made as long as it's exclusive to their shitbox
Someone told them they could sell xbox live to people who don't have a xbox and everyone at the meeting started jizzing themselves on the spot.
because for a company like microsoft who owns a platform with nearly 1 billion users as well as a gaming platform, they'd be clinically retarded to limit their games to the small 25-90m xbox owners they've historically limited it to. they're not ending exclusivity they're just acknowledging the existence of their main platform in regards to gaming. if sony or nintendo owned their own pc operating system with a 1bn users you can very well bet they'd do the exact same thing. who wouldn't?
exclusivity is what sells consoles
microsoft still thinks what sells consoles is services, but at least these new services have more to do with games
If it's on Steam, then there is a chance you can play it on Linux.
its just business
microsoft knows they have no exclusives worth anything so they decided to pretend they're the good guys and make everything multiplat
...
Why would Microsoft seek to exclude their games from a platform they also own?
Because videogames
Yea, no shit retard.
if you're nintendo, sure. not if you're sony. there are more people who own a ps4 without an exclusive game than there are people who own one with an exclusive game. just look at the sales figures.if exclusives sell consoles they'd be by far and away the best sellers on the platform.
To buy an exclusive for a console requires a cash sum higher than the projected profits of that exclusive on all other platforms
>Paying a company to ignore 100 million Ps4 owners who are wayyy closer to the "core gamer" audience that might buy a Fromsoft title = expensive
>Paying a company to ignore 40 million Xbox owners who just aren't likely to give a Japanese game a chance = You can do it
And that's how you end up with multiple Sony exclusive From games. The Ps2 was the last console so dominant most devs did it for very, very little and thus racked up hundreds of exclusives
a console is too small a platform for their vision of dominance. they need everything to be everywhere so they're tackling that as best they can. gaming to them becomes about affordability now. if you can't afford a pc get a console, no console then mobile, etc. streaming could even put xbox games on the switch and microsoft will profit.
>exclusivity is what sells consoles
Exclusivity is make people shill for free for their consoles.
Non-Americans have a real soccer problem don't they?
American charts just have the FIFA's replaced with other sports games like Madden
Did people cope this hard when Sonic Adventure dropped on Gamecube
Xbox exclusives are still exclusive to Microsoft owned platforms.
MS only misses out on a handful of "I only buy a console for exclusives" people compared to what they gain selling to both Xbox and Windows. And if you're getting it on Windows, that's still a MS product, so you aren't exactly sticking it to them.
And before you say, "I'll use Linux + Wine/Proton, take that MS!", know that you are a handful of a handful so small you are irrelevant to them. No different than the 100 or so people who emulate Nintendo's games instead of buying them.
Sony on the other hand does not own the most popular desktop OS, so they are less willing to put their games on PC
call it cope if you want to. i'm just explaining what i think their logical position is. microsoft has said since the launch of the xbox one they wanted to be the center of the living room experience. they failed before but that doesn't stop ambition.
phil took the original concept and just broadened it. doesn't mean they'll be successful with it but like i said a console is too small a platform for their vision of dominance.
