not him but what? yes it will, it was rough for me but I still beat him first try without knowing any strategies. I had grinded a good chunk though, it was a slog fighting him relatively unprepared but I still pulled through. I like Octopaths combat a lot but most of it is pretty simple, and yes grinding and levels do make a huge difference. Just fighting anything at the appropriate level in the game is enough to make things pretty damn easy for the most part. The only time I remember struggling a bit in the main game was when I advanced past the prologue and did Cyrus's chapter straight away, and it was mainly because of that dungeons random encounters

Not him but that particular "strong generic enemy" actually did encourage spamming attack. Best way to deal with it was making Joker immune to its shit and just slapping it while the rest of your party died.

Still I agree on regular persona 5 fights being pretty damn engaging especially against the elite shadows every dungeon had that were quite a few levels above you. Probably the dungeon where I had to think the most about what to do each fight was Kaneshiro's since plenty of enemies could hit hard and tank hits so you had to focus on disabling them more than just killing them ASAP.

The combat flows so well and the interface is so nice that it's a dream to play. Yes the meat of the new content takes place in the rest of the school year that is skipped over in the original game.

When you played P5 you started towards the end of the year, had the summer, went back to school for the fall semester and the final boss happens at Christmas. The game then goes into its epilogue and skips the entire rest of the year because Joker goes to jail and time skips. P5R will make it so that you don't do the time skip and new story events take place and you can actually play the rest of the winter term
