I think hell's inhabitants would prefer oblivion. And arguably, oblivion for earth would result in 0 suffering. Happiness is a meme that only a scant few ever achieve, while some suffer throughout their lives. And even if you're rich and successful, you'll face boredom, existential crisis, and turn to any hobby, work or activity just to keep things going. Even when we reach an utopia-like state as a species, we'll run into the fate of the Mice Utopia. We're already experiencing that in the west.
Why keep this macabre coincidence going, especially if we're someday fated to be instantly extinguished by something like a Gamma Ray Burst anyway?
