Depends on what kind of experience you want. Do you want the middle of the road where you have good tools for everything, but aren't an effortless killing machine? Maya. Do you want a possibly miserable experience where half the skills are close to useless and then you have a few really good skills to compensate, still being rather dependent on gear? Then Gaige.

Gaige has mods for midriff + short skirt. Maya can go full bikini. Gaige playstyle is 1 dimensional focusing on trading accuracy for damage up to and beyond the point where you can only hit things with shotguns at under 3 meters, but 1 shots when she does. Maya gets to play the game normally, mostly focused on SMGs, and is the only character with team support skills in multiplayer. My personal recommendation is Gaige because she has the most fan-art to remember her by once you're done with the game.

Well, it depends how far you want to play the game. Normal mode she's great, and all of the skill trees are fair game with the anarchy one letting you tear through things with ease as long as you stick to low mag shotguns, but the further you go after that your minion will gradually become close to useless, and anarchy more and more a necessity. What hurts Gaige a lot lategame is that the skills that provide healing are fairly niche use, and her slagging options are very limited. With Maya you can slag about fifty times as efficiently.

Yes, easily. Maya is best for.. anything anyway, as you are FORCED to use slag at NG++ and above and she can carry it naturally if specced. The pre-sequel has way better game desaign and cryo damage but is very short in comparison.

Yeah, Tediore barrels are kinda weird. For the purpose of constantly throwing Tediore reloads with grenade damage bonuses it's one of the few cases where you want damage boosting parts for the barrel and then Bandit grip over Tediore because Tediore reduces mag size. Besides that I would still rather go with matching parts.

Because it would add a lot of weight and size to the weaponry, which is rather impractical for infantry. For troops firing in anything more than short full-auto bursts is useless anyway, you don't want to poke your head out for that long and your targets won't need that many bullets, which you do not want to waste.
It wouldn't surprise me if modern mounted, high caliber weaponry already uses this stabilizer idea.
