Also an RPG where I can't make my own character 99% of the time or choose my own path (outside very minor detours from the main plot). The Role you choose is as limited as an adventure game.

Almost always a choice between a grindy as fuck fossil of game design or a story more linear than Telltale Games. Even ones I've enjoyed are tedious outside of aesthetic and writing.

They have been making a thread titled "Why aren't you playing a JRPG?" or something similar with a random girl OP every few days since at least January.

By making the same vague vidya-themed thread over and over, this subject has been sucked dry. These are worse than the irrelevant politics/drama threads because at least there's the possibility of new discussion being made. Someone said that good JRPGs are dynamic and not easily solvable, but didn't name one. I could make the same protests again, or ask for an example, but what is the point? We already talked about this. If I care about specifics I'll make a thread about them. I don't need to post the same comment again.

What are the best modern JRPGs? I already have XC2, DQXI, Nier Automata, Bravely Default / Second, Tales of Vesperia DE, Valkyria Chronicles 4.

You're missing the key aspect - he's not simply making a JRPG thread over and over, the question in the OP is specifically designed to attract idiots who can't help but respond to any question, no matter how low in quality. So he's getting more posts at the detriment of post quality, and since there's already so many frequent "why aren't you playing a jrpg" threads it's even harder to make a real jrpg thread.
