Humans are social creatures by nature. When we experience something we want to let other people in on the experience, we want to share it other words. When experiencing a fictional story there are many moments that make stick with the viewer, after digesting these bits as well as the whole the next step is the urge for discussion. Discussion is a basic human impulse. As I have said, humans instinctively want to share experiences and the opinions we have developed about them which leads to discussion. This is why public forums have been around since, well, forever. Watching a streamer is just another way of satisfying this innate desire to share and discuss something we like. Although streaming elevates this to a higher level by showing us the initial reaction, thoughts, and formation of opinion live. And then with the chat feature, a streamer can then choose to discuss said experiences with his or her audience. This is all really basic stuff that anyone should be able to gather unless you're autistic or a robot.
