I understand that E3 2019 is upon us and it's great that Banjo is getting some of the most attention he has had in years, especially in regards to Smash! But after seeing the state of Yea Forums for the last few days in regards to leaks by Shinobi and Vergeben and the Microsoft Conference that occured today, I think we all have to have a little talk...
It's really awesome to see Banjo more and more in these threads, but I just want to remind people that we cannot just jump the gun and assume he's in (plus more) just because people who have gotten things correct said so... And unfortunately, that's what people have done...
Some fans expected Banjo to show up with a new game at E3 in the Microsoft Conference... but that just was not the case, and people were legitimately upset over this... to those who wanted this, I apologize, but reminder that we are not Microsoft, Nintendo or even Rare, we are gamers who like video games.
We all need to remind ourselves that we need to hype responsibly, and save it for events that actually happen. At this point, even though I still think he can get in, his chances are SLIM at best, like everyone else in the entire community that is reasonable character. Just because Banjo is in leak culture, it does not mean he is in, it could be a Square Enix character, it could even be a Bethesda character! Or even... Steve... *shudders* regardless.
I think it would be wise to take a break from Yea Forums if you feel like it's too much, it's better just to wait at this point.

I'm unironically happy that the C&D happened and that Banjo wasn't shown because now the actual new reveal for Smash and the Direct and general will actually be fun and full of surprises. Before yesterday I was all but sure that Banjo was getting in so my reaction would just have been: yeah, of course. As far as I see it, the biggest problem for Banjo is that his audience is on Nintendo systems, not Xbox or PC. Thus, Microsoft has less incentive to do a remake like Crash or Spyro, as it's not what they perceive as what their fans want.

You guys need to understand that these leakers credibility lives and dies specifically on who they trust. A couple of bad leaks does not eternally discredit them. Keel in mind that Vergeben started with the TMNT in Injustice 2 leak which literally no one else guessed. What I'm saying is that you should always take what these guys say with a grain of salt, but dont ever count them out entirely because you simply dont like them.
