>le epique Witch Final Boss fight
Should have just made a new IP instead of desperately trying to coast on a movie's name

I don't get it

>despite it being the only interesting reveal at Microsoft's conference.
Not really. I bet it's a hide and seek walking sim just like Outlast.

The oddest part is to go with an IP that hasn't been relivent in what, a decade?

Because it seems to ruin everything the first movie built up in favour of le epic spooky jumpscare witch outlast clone

boring hideo kojima weebshit isn't interesting

I was disappointed in this movie. Because it had the word "project" in it I thought it would be sci-fi horror. Like an experiment taking place in a secret lab in the forest. That it was literally a witch sucked away all the fear and made it lame.

Miyazaki games are the opposite of Kojima games in nearly every way

I thought it was Outlast 3 at first. It looked good, will definitely consider buying it

So fucking generic.

It looked like tedious Slender shit that spoiled the subtlety and mystery that made the movie work.
I am so sick of le glowing evil digital imp enemy trash, it was present in like 70% of the games shown today

Elden Ring is the only thing worth keeping track of and even then I only got really interested once I read Miyazaki’s interview

when i was watching the show with friends i laughed when the trailer started and said it was the blair witch project, i was surprised that i was right

>They chose Blaire Witch
>Not The VVitch
Mistake of the century
I need more puritan horror

90s nostalgia sells rn

Looks like shit, packed to the brim with spooky music paranormal jumpscare bullshit, completely missing the point of what made the original Blair Witch Project a phenomenon.

funny that a video game will be the thing to finally show the Witch (because apparently the creature in the 2016 one wasn't the actual witch)

Nothin about blair witch and the Witch are even remotely similar, and the experience of the Witch doesn't lend itself to a videogame at all. What would the gameplay be? Talking to a goat? Watching pops chop wood? Fetch quest for a silver cup? Sitting there and letting your brother oggle you? Stop showing of your knowledge of artsy movies that everyone already knows about for no reason.

Doesn't look scary at all tbqh but then again nothing scares me.

Have some creativity, man
You could ask these same questions of Blaire
>what are you gonna do? find sticks? watch your camera battery drain? stand in the corner?
I think a Puritan witch-in-the-woods scenario is perfectly comparable to a modern witch-in-the-moods scenario. Gameplay could involve performing superstitious rituals to keep yourself safe, trying to survive in the wilderness, returning to your family and trying to keep them fed through a blight on your crops, try to get your abducted son back, come on man I could think of possibilities all day

I will send you my tiny dick pics

Blair witch allows for a scavenge survival game in the woods with a day night cycle. Scavenge during the day and the witch haunts you at night. This is literally the film and it translates to gameplay 1:1.
All of the stuff you suggest has only a tenuous connection to the Witch. This doesn't mean it's bad, but there's no real reason to draw the connection other than pointing out the shared setting of the game and film. It's like saying a Titanic game would have gameplay involving micromanaging a ship in the 1920s.

It has nothing to do with the original "blair witch project" concept. It will be another below average survival game.

The woods?

>Blaire witch has day night cycle but the vvitch doesnt
>vvitch can’t have scavenging even thought it’s literally about a house in the middle of a forest
>the titanic sunk in the 20s
Tch...

Literally dark souls, without any of the soul. Dark Souls and Demon Souls' opening were way more kino.

Fuck, what year is it? Blair Witch shit? Really?

It's going to just be a """spooky""" walking simulator where you walk forward and look through a camera with the night vision turned on hunting for batteries.

Dark Souls: Test Group Edition

imagine those long fingers around your penis

I hope you know that’s Lemminkäinen and he’s a male character

gog when?

Attached: RustinParrGameCover.jpg (248x350, 23K)

In blaire witch there was a tangible difference between night and day where things happened that were specific to that time of day. The Witch does not offer this.

>vvitch can’t have scavenging even thought it’s literally about a house in the middle of a forest
Again, that's just the setting. There is no reason to specifically tie a game to the Witch.

Why isn’t it a new ip?

it looked like another walking simulator with a camera... people really care?

If they made the forest fully alive and spooky, yeah, it'd be cool.

The first half of the latest movie was pretty good, and if a game was like that but expanded more, then I'd like it.

just imagine

>Demon's Souls Opening
God that was fucking based

Let's be real here, we all know that's gonna be another souls or sekiro.

I was kinda surprised by myself recognizing the logo from a movie I saw once... like a decade ago?

Anyway whatever, it's probably sub-contracted to some c-tier studio that will give us some terrible game like the recent Friday the 13th multiplayer.

For movies that were good. Blair Witch was a summer movie widely regarded as awful.

OP here, I say "interesting" but really I'm just fucking desperate for some halfway decent horror.

The footage they showed was too balls to the walls horror. Blair Witch was great because it slowly eased you into this really creepy atompshere, and only ramps up towards the end.

It always pumped me up for playing the game.

nigger

soul

Valid point, but how do you know the game doesn't and they weren't just showing off the crazy shit to get people interested?

I called it when the dude turned the camera on the guy in the corner.
First thought was literally "Hey that's cool, I remember the Blair Witch project." then it panned back and the title came, felt a little cheapened but still a nice throw back

Reminder that this was a thing. youtube.com/watch?v=DWi8NDChhIM

I remember seeing this on youtube a while back, was this actually on CN?
That'd be pretty rad.

Interesting concept, good IP, genre desperately in need of even serviceable games.

It’s being developed by the Layers of Fear guys, so I dunno. Expecting to be underwhelmed, but I’ll keep an eye on it.

>Blair Witch vidya
The whole fucking point of the movie, and what made it scary in the first place was the ambiguity.
Three kids lost in the woods, and you aren't sure if there really is a monster stalking them or they're just slowly going insane, made all the more effective by being shot on a fucking 90s cam recorder.

A vidya game with spooky monsters cannot have that same effect and fucks the entire point of it

This is like taking something like the Exorcist and making it into Doom or something

Attached: 1525105833848.png (600x397, 236K)

>the Layers of Fear guys
That's disappointing.

I mean it was pretty fucking clear there was something after them, but the key was that nothing was actually shown. Not sure how well that’ll translate.

Looks like Outlast 2.

I do enjoy the lore of the Blair Witch, really interested to see how this game handles it.

It worked for a short portion of Amnesia.

Of course, if you're absolutely exhausted of run-and-hide horror like me, then this probably isn't a good thing.

No, it was clear someone was fucking with them.
Whether that someone was supernatural or not was never made clear

Either way, what made it effective is what you said. Nothing was ever shown or made clear. That inherently cannot happen in a game and closest you can get is something like Silent Hill

Anyone watch the second one? I thought it was cool till all the time travel in the woods shit

most of Yea Forums is too zoomer to even know what the fuck blair is

Attached: volume-i-rustin-parr-windows.jpg (1024x768, 90K)

Fucking kill yourself no one cares about this American bullshit. Elden Ring and Tales shit on this easy.

Sounds like you never saw the sequel from a couple years back

Did you make this nigger wojak? Was it worth the time investment? Even 5 minutes making this kind of shit seems like a waste.

>seething

This could work if they use some of the time travel theory shit, but even then it seems like a hard sell.

Most people didn't. It had its moments, but it wasn’t nearly as scary or well done as the first. Straight up throwing monsters at the characters was a bit too far. Even if the design was pretty good and was done well. At that point it just sort of becomes something else though.

>Theory

the ending spelled it out I thought

It definitely does. Everyone dying in a house that didnt exist anymore was pretty clear. But iirc, wasnt there a lot more built up around it after the fact?

This is a bizarre move, if you hate you're anti-games so STFU.
I have plenty of skepticism, but as a big fan of the film I am interested to see a miscalculation as much as a success so I am excited.

It looked shit dude. I'm sure the game will be fine but the reveal wasn't anything to be excited about.
