it's worth it if you've never played it before. It's actually a decent SP game. post game and raid bosses were just not my thing though. I would HIGHLY suggest using the cheat engine table and increasing jump height and running speed along with increasing drop rates especially for BLUE weapons, the gold tier (highest) are pretty much garbage. Pre Sequel table doesn't work entirely until you're out of the tutorial btw.

you can play through normal mode and true vault hunter mode and most of dlc's no problems if you're willing to farm for best gear, although most raid bosses are pretty much impossible solo or you have to use glitches to beat them, some missions are also very tough solo, like hyperion slaughter round 5, the story missions are easy as fck though and ultimate vault hunter mode is just for die hard autists, cause it is doable only with specific gear and builds and spamming slag so it becomes very repetitive like spamming slag grenades and constantly slagging enemies with slag weapons and the switching to well known overpowered weapong for kills, raid bosses in ultimate vault hunter mode are doable using glitches and with 4 players all using pretty much same gear

I played the whole main campaign plus a few of the DLC's (around 60 hours so far) and had a lot of fun. The main quest is absolutely worth it, it's very enjoyable and it has an amazing main villain that's probably the best part of the whole game. However, the DLC's tend to be a bit more uninteresting in regards to their story arcs and side quests (with a couple exceptions) and the rewards never really feel that satisfying. I'm a huge fan of exploration and I love getting new shit to experiment with, but it seems that no matter how much I did that I never really got any loot that made me think that it was worth the effort. Besides, some of the late game raids are basically impossible without a squad.
So basically, if you're going solo play the main campaign and Tiny Tina's DLC.

It is way way more linear than Borderlands. The way money works is different and it is much more scarce, same with guns. They really really crippled the gun diversity for some reason.

Basically, it's nothing like Borderlands. It plays a lot more like a generic shooter than a Borderlands game. And everything about it will make you want to put it down. To top the shit-cake off with a shit-cherry it has a very heavy handed SJW influence that is apparent in every single conversation with NPCs.

They are good loot shooters. probably the only good ones. BL1 is kino. BL2 is kinda cringeworthy with old memes and SJW shit, but not enough to make it a dealbreaker. Presequal is the same thing as 2 though it CAN make it a dealbreaker

I mean give them credit they had to give personality to 4 characters whose only dialogue was reactions to killing things. He still died in 2 and personally I don't want more characters to die especially off screen since some people would probably love side quests featuring characters from borderlands 2. Killing them off for no reason seems like such a waste, maybe they just have major changes visually that aren't ready to be seen yet.

Honestly I like the idea of being able to play everyone but some characters are too similar now and they can't be added to the story if you are playing them. Like imagine talking to Lillith as herself. I also wouldn't really like to create my own character with chosen abilities.

The current model they have of new classes is ok and if a character is not used maybe then bring them back. Just treat previous characters well in the story and I will be ok.

It's worth a playthrough IMO, but I haven't 100% finished everything like I did with BL2 because it just wasn't worth it to me. I have over 400 hours in BL2 and less than 100 hours in BL:TPS.

It's really disappointing compared to 2. It's filled with retcons (so was 2 because Butch didn't play the first one, although I can't judge because I haven't either) and lots of weird design decisions. It screams "another studio made this".

It's fine to like the first game but let's not pretend the sequel wasn't better. I can't remember a single fucking unique gun in 1 that did something fun aside from the Eridian ones...whereas everything with red text in two had a surprise for me, that to me made the weapons better.

As far as NPCs...nobody in 1 even spoke aside from TK Baha (who was annoying as shit) and that Russian cunt who's name I forgot. Having "a bunch of annoying npcs" is preferable to "a bunch of signposts who hand me quests"
