I'VE WAITED 13 YEARS FOR THIS SHIT

>I can explore the world from my house
Please launch with VR support

No, but the zoomers wont understand how dope it is to see this franchise back.

Hopefully they dont kill it with excessive plane DLC

I, too, want to crash 777s into buildings around the world, user.

hold me simbros

Honest to god the best game shown

I wonder how much theyve dumbed it down to play on Xbox and gamepad

Never played MFS but this looks fantastic.

I need a sex simulator so fucking bad.

Was just about to post about this. Looks pretty neat.

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-06-09 at 1.39.34 PM.png (1774x1004, 451K)

IS it true that you can learn to fly a plane from playing MFS?

I am sick of giving the jewslavs at Eagle Dynamics my money. I'm going to get it and hope there are some fun military mods.

Attached: slavshit.webm (960x540, 2.79M)

this is the most beautiful game i have ever seen.

this sold me on xbox

One day...

Attached: 1534087625909.jpg (1920x1080, 475K)

Did they mention who the devs were? Internal studio?

you might find it hard to believe but for every 100k gamers 1 can find excitement for someone else, although i don't play flight sims i hope you enjoy it

based.

KILL DOVETAIL PLEASE

XPlane BTFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>the mad men actually did it
HOLY SHIT

Microsoft Bane Simulator

Attached: plane.jpg (1920x1080, 246K)

I used to play MSX with a 360 controller they'll probably just have contextual menus with the camera for a bunch of inputs.

It's by far the most exciting thing that's been revealed this weekend. Though that's more of a negative statement about everything else.

actually pretty based

I think the graphics look absolutely spectacular

Attached: 20190609_163937.jpg (3984x2988, 1.09M)

Oh boy i cant wait for all the 9/11 meme mods

It totally is, you will damage the plane tho and its dangerous ,but totally feasible.

As soon as I saw the cockpit I said "oh fuck is this actually Flight Simulator?"

Aesthetic and amazing

Attached: 1538187816923.jpg (600x533, 46K)

Oh god yes this is amazing, I jumped out of my seat when they showed it

You can learn the theory with good payware planes, people use p3d and x-plane nowadays though

There's no other simulator that offers modern day military air combat like DCS. It's nice to have MSFS back but it won't be close.

I wonder if the attitude warning system will be paid DLC

Yea i was actually wondering if this was real life or not. The clouds and the lighting are gorgeous.

WHAT THE FUCK I LOVE MICROSOFT NOW

its the game im most excited about rightnow

BMS, though it's ugly.

They better have VR native

I wonder if those are just premade maps, or if it's literally the whole world using google maps data

looks good
if its not more than 20 bucks and on sales sometimes I will get it

I wonder if this game will require top of the line hardware

Looks good

Attached: flight sim.jpg (1024x544, 296K)

I have no trust inmicrosoft game so no

I'm a pilot in real life, why would I play this shit on my day off?

or just an xbox one

Because you don't have to deal with noisy passengers or a thousand aviation laws and can pull max g all day without upsetting the mechanic or voiding airworthiness?

whole world nigga

I CANT W8 FOR A MOD WHERE YOU CAN CRUSH IN TO THE TWIN TOWERS

Attached: 1557011967924.gif (360x270, 1.63M)

Didn't the original MSF team go to work on other sims now anyway? Hasn't everyone switched over to DC9, Xplane, etc.?

it said is was generated using Azure AI. Could be the entire world using super detailed maps data. I'm fucking hyped.

I hope that this gives me a chance to test how Boeing 373 Max MCAS fucked up things in practice.

My pilot buddy does so fuck right off and stick it up your ass.

There are whole online communities with proper air traffic controllers and everything

To try crashing or some shit

I hope it has this all canadian beauty in it

Attached: a220.jpg (3749x2498, 2.87M)

Because du bist productive Societymember ja

Attached: germany.png (841x730, 100K)

Because you're German

Hopefully it's old data.
tfw... THEY'RE IN

Attached: 300px-World_Trade_Center,_New_York_City_-_aerial_view_(March_2001).jpg (300x423, 57K)

Pull another 9/11 faggot

what a beautiful airbus plane you've posted bro

the only flight simulator I need is Excel 97.

I'm crying

Same here mate, hyped af

This looks epic.

Because a lot of us weren't fortunate enough to be born with rich parents.

Xplane does what I need so no, I am not really excited.

What do you fly and how many hours do you have

767 and I stopped keeping a log book a few years ago.

>Still no sequel

Attached: s-l300.jpg (216x266, 24K)

It only costs about 50k to get all your ratings.

I have my PPL and I find sims fun, especially since there are many airframes you can't easily get a shot at flying IRL.

>Play a game where you literally can only go forward and backwards.

Is this the game where you can actually learn to be a pilot and do stuff like taking control of a plane and throwing it into towers?

I am flying the T-6A and flight sims are very useful to practice with

>microsoft using google maps

Attached: laughing-hipsters-at-microsoft-store.jpg (485x445, 46K)

literally game of the show
this kills the zoomer

there is no physical damage modeling in the entire series, it's like old Gran Turismo games

I wonder
is it going to have the full 737 MAX experience?

Are you at lackland?

Wait, they announced a new microsoft flight sim? Holy fucking shit

I mean IRL : You can pilot a plane after playing this game right?

This, the only thing Ive gotten hyped for lol

Moose Jaw

you will stop being excited too once you realize the base game is gonna come with like two Cessnas and all the other planes will be paid 0-day DLC with passenger jets costing like 20 bucks each

lol no, my dick is hard

Fs4 was the first pic game I ever bought from babages for my 286 dx

Again why would I do something I get paid to do for free in my off time?

Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer 3.0 had a goddamn space shuttle you could practice landing included for free in the base game.

Attached: 1.jpg (578x837, 231K)

Nobody is saying you have to. It's understandable that some RL pilots wouldn't want to use sims in their off times because it can cause sim sickness.

Still a good tool to practice approaches and procedures and stay current.

Xplane 11 has the space shuttle too.

A bit excited

How's Moose Jaw
t. comox

Its desolate and flat and a lot of people hate it when they come here. I have grown used to it.

The trailer melted my PC!

Going to take a fucking super computer to make it look like that preview but yeah I'm excited.

>Still a good tool to practice approaches and procedures and stay current.
It's not, the flight model has always been shit.

Game Of The Show

Hopefully they'll go to an aerodynamic model instead of a look-up table model.

Seaplanes?

Attached: Grand Theft Auto V_20190603215245.jpg (1920x1080, 205K)

the dl size is going to be over 500gb calling it now

boomercore

this shit looked beautiful holy fuck

Trailer had the Icon in it, so yes

Nah, I'm excited.
I'm terrified it's going to turn out like that "MIcrosoft Flight" thing that was free to play garbage.

I REALLY HOPE that it's a return to FSX.
The problem is that if it's compatible with an Xbox, I don't see how they can make it very complex.

Attached: 2017-4-14_18-28-49-170.jpg (1920x1080, 485K)

If you want to see how a flight simulator on console turns out, check out Microsoft Flight. You won't find it, since they abandoned it since no one bought it.

I am, was debating getting xplane during the next sale but I might wait for this

Attached: 1539534845627.jpg (868x867, 277K)

I'll take flying with an inaccurate flight model over chair flying with a printed cockpit in front of me. There's something to be gained from being able to recall all the steps from memory but it's also nice to get a feel for the timing that everything will happen at.

And like that guy said, for practicing instrument stuff and getting procedures memorized it doesn't really matter if the flight modeling is that accurate. Maybe the pitch and power settings aren't the same but practicing instrument approaches at home as opposed to getting time in a sim is priceless.

Day one buy for me then, hope they pack in something bigger aswell. Like a catalina

Attached: Grand Theft Auto V_20190603215327.jpg (1920x1080, 112K)

This.

listen I hate jewslavs too but I think it's kinda optimistic to think that this will replace DCS.
I want it to, but that's a lot to ask for.

As a nintenfag this is by far the most exciting game of the conference

I'll be excited if its global flight and not restricted to specific zones

Might drop X-Plane 11 then.

Attached: b738_4k - 2019-06-06 11.01.55.png (2560x1440, 3.28M)

Nobody says you have to. Are you autistic?

Does no one else except me remember "Microsoft Flight" and how much of a trainwreck that turned out to be? There's a reason Microsoft sold off the FSX team.

Microsoft will surely bring out a proper controller set too, right? RIGHT??????

Attached: B002G1YPP2_mainphoto.jpg (350x288, 25K)

It will be consolized garbage.

>console
>""""""""""""""""simulation""""""""""""""

Attached: 1558542324983.jpg (250x250, 7K)

>Wonderful graphics
>But on a simulation game
If only this could be applied to other genres. Simulator games have the best fucking graphics almost every gen, but they're so niche that it feels like wasted talent.

Confirmed plons
>Diamond DA-62
>TBM 930
>Airbus A320Neo
>Robin DR400
>Piper Cub
>Stunt aircraft of some kind???
>Cessna Grand Caravan
>Icon A5
>Beechcraft Bonanza
>C172 / C182

Attached: wuss poppin.jpg (640x570, 30K)

I missed it, but you already know they're going to fuck it up.

Oh god a new successor to the Sidewinder is what I need.

>the only good game in microsoft's presentation was fucking FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Attached: JESUS CHRIST.png (690x968, 900K)

I smiled. I never really played them growing up but it feels like one of those games that's important, more than most people realize. It has it's place. I mean, it did train at least a couple of people enough to keep a plane or two from crashing at some point.

The propellers can really hit each other? Really? Who would approve shit like that?

This.
Guys, do you not remember the last time a microsoft flight game had the xbox as a target platform? It was a trainwreck.
It needs to be PC-targeted if it is going to have any complexity whatsoever.

It's going to be for PC too (probably 90% of sales are going to be for PC most likely)

Fag

No. It was the best game in the whole Microsoft conference. I hope I can play it in VR. Maximum comfy.

A new FFB stick would be incredible. The patent expired recently too I believe

The only game worth it so far if done well.

Russia. That's how it is in the real thing, too.

The slavs didn't put any limiters on the tilting system, hoping the pilots have a clue what the fuck they're doing.
In theory it's a good idea, but the slavs don't have a clue what the fuck they're doing.

Guys. I think it has multiplayer. I legit am getting all my friends in to crash and burn in new york. Can't wait

the map looks really detailed i wonder if they modeled it all with google map data or did telephotogrammetry or whatever that technique is called with an airplane

Practice so you don't get rusty or rely entirely on autopilot like the rest of line pilots

t. Pilot

>tfw flying around NYC in a 747 in FSX while listening to citypop

Attached: 1543120579489.jpg (693x448, 77K)

At like 300 km/h airspeed and higher. Since one rotor spins into the advancing air and one spins away, the lower rotor gets more lift on the right side and can cause it to touch blades during excessive maneuvering or very high speeds

You better believe Yea Forums will visit New york and set the time to 2001 as the first thing they do

Costs about the same as a 4 year degree in USA.

Damn this in VR would be fucking rad. I just want to barrel roll...

I kinda see it as the same as professional racing drivers playing racing simulators/games.
One is a job, other one is just to fuck around with and do something you don't want to or can't do IRL.

My old man is an ex fighter pilot and he's a big fan of flight sims, still plays a lot of them in his spare time.

Yeah, and they'll also have excessive royalty fees on DLC, no 3rd party dev will go anywhere near it and the game will die in its infancy just like the dovetail game did.

Hopefully this means a reduction of the germanistani fuckhead population on Yea Forums. Now if only something similar could be done for Σοytendies.

god I hop eyou're wrong but you're probably right

no, you are not. stop lying on the internet, Tommy and go do your homework. school starts on monday.

Flight sim fag here.

Looks like it will be in depth.
The A320 NEO Cockpit for example.
Autopilot is set as you can see by the dashes on the SPD,HDG etc. So its using NAV. FMC has been programmed as you can see and they also have VREF speeds on the side.

Already looks miles in depth compared to MFSX

Attached: unknown.png (2560x1440, 3.14M)

>still worse in quite a few areas than a fucking free mod

Should have clarified since I'm tired - they obviously both spin into the advancing air but the lower one is the one to watch for, since the right side will be lifted higher as the lower blades spin anti-clockwise

You get an overspeed warning before this happens. Above a certain speed, your advancing blades will have extremely high airspeed while your retreating blades have practically zero airspeed. One will flex up, one will droop down. I don't know if this has ever actually happened in reality, any pilot is going to be aware of this danger.

this is my dream game... now i NEVER have to travel for real irl

How the hell is this supposed to work on console?
Will it be mandatory yo connect kb and mouse?

>tfw i still have the disc of microsoft flight simulator 98
I don't give a shit about the rest of the presentation

So this is like Star Citizen, but with an actual release date?

the lights are on, sure. at the same time will it be interactable or are you looking at a static shot made from the mission editor?
That's the real question in my mind, is this just a bullshot or can you program it in while in the cockpit? If it's not XPlane 11 level of depth, then I don't want it.

You're not alone. I just hope to fucking Christ the mechanics aren't dumbed down, or at least there are various sim settings. I also hope it's not just "you can fly anywhere aimlessly" stuff and they add loads of missions, could even make seasonal content.

Completely clueless ignorant user here

Are these games actual simulators? I mean down to every button, physic and procedure? Can these games truly teach you how to pilot a commercial airplane in theory?

I'd be very surprised if they implemented FBW/FMS in an Xbox game.
>2019 on the ident panel
This year release maybe?

DCS does this

Im sure it will be able to be program in the cockpit.

Only thing I'm worried about is if the flight models are good.

yes see

Made me yell 'OH NEGRO' out loud at home, thankfully not within earshot of any black people. So fucking hype

Unless I can crash into the Twin Towers and see pretty explosions, who cares?

(I have MS Flight Simulator X that I haven't even played, so I'm not too jazzed for a new one currently)

name his dlc

Attached: 1534088198565.png (1400x3572, 3.27M)

Holy fuck I can't wait

Ded if no WMR support

Fuck off DCS fags.

No one cares about your autistic jets with missiles.

Depends on the Addon you get for Flight Sims. Study level and above would be ideal as they have a lot more systems mapped. Training level would be better, but you hardly see them.

easily

It is though.

He didn't fly so good

Some of them, yes.
Early games it was kind of iffy. FSX was half and half, but a bunch of other games are 100% you can click and modify every control, button, knob, down to the flight computer.

>Can these games truly teach you how to pilot?
They can tell you about the controls and how the procedures work, but piloting in a game is miles away from piloting IRL. The feel is different and the fact that you aren't there in the cockpit does make a substantial difference.

Doesn't stop people from being autistic about it, though.

Attached: fixed_cock.jpg (1920x1080, 759K)

It was confirmed in the stream though.

Attached: unknown (1).png (1210x686, 167K)

>Xbox One | Microsoft PC
Expect them announcing the SIDEWINDER or partnering with Logitech or Thrustmaster

I actually managed to accomplish a lot with a controller in DCS with an Xbox controller by using RB, LB, and RB+LB as shift states, basically quadrupling my possible inputs. They will still need some sort of solution for clicking on cockpit buttons though, you can't map everything in an A320 to a controller. Probably just look at a button and press A to interact with it.

Attached: 9.9g.webm (1280x720, 2.94M)

it was different time

give me combat flight sim 4 you cunts

I'm hyped.

I would love to be a pilot IRL but I know that's never going to happen so this is the closest I'll get.

>New PC to max out graphics
>VR headset
>Throttle, yoke, pedals controller setup

Still cheaper than getting a pilots license tho. Also, do flight sim games typically have "missions" or a career mode?

There are sims that you can log hours on when getting your license yes

>this would STILLLLL be considered insensitive

Attached: clown.jpg (386x436, 39K)

>Press L3 to enable autopilot.

Best part of the conference my man

Why do civsims hate DCS despite the fact that the two aren't even in the same category?

How do you feel about WW2 sims, if that's the case?

Attached: microsoft-combat-flight-simulator-wwii-europe-series_2.png (1440x900, 588K)

FSX had the Tomcat and Carriers retard

Impossibru because retards will find World War 2 Flight Sims complicated, also IL2 was far better than CSS3

Why did you post a FC3 plane when talking about clicky cockpits?

FSX had missions

Indeed, the only great thing we saw on that pr trainwreck

No, it's on PC, but it's behind that fucking weird Xbox Games Pass thing

Can someone explain how this works? I pay monthly for access to games on MS' launcher, or I pay monthly to buy the games so I can play them on MS' launcher? Windows 10 only?

because DCS is HORRIBLY Optimized and Eagle Dynamics parthner companies LOVES to ramp up the prices for shits and giggles with a fuckton of essential DLC's

>tfw hijack mod is a fps

I would've liked to see Combat FS 4 over FSX 2. I know IL-2 exists but it's so fucking expensive.

The trailer for this looked better than almost everything else in that conference

shut up homo DCS is god tier

Attached: Screen_130110_203905.jpg (1920x1080, 202K)

>but it's behind that fucking weird Xbox Games Pass thing
Gamepass is optional you fucking mong.

They don't lock games behind it.
You either sub to Gamepass to get lots of games
Or pay full price for the game.
Its not locked behind.

I've "played" one of the originals for like 1h many years ago, but damn, I'm so happy to see that game back.

>no release date

Only screenshot I had of DCS right now and also I love the Fulcrum.

Attached: BIG_iztrebiteli.jpg (789x461, 48K)

>The A320 NEO
wonder if will have the 737-Max 8 planes with uncontrollable nosedives

>DCS
>Release planes for $60 that rent even finished

lmao

>Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator
Fuck now I want to go searching for the disc

Won't argue there.

Attached: the_state_of_dcs.jpg (2582x810, 513K)

Surely this will revive /simg/ unlike every other time!

I play both, ignore the autists

>he doesnt enjoy comfy bombing runs

fag

Attached: Screen_130114_195700.jpg (1920x1080, 320K)

Oh, okay. So you sub for access to it or just buy it outright. What platform? Windows Games, still? Or will this be on their new launcher?

DCS is cool, but ED are greedy retards who need to create a functional fucking business model that is actually sustainable.

Attached: spamraam.webm (1920x1080, 2.72M)

SURELY
THE FALCON WILL SAVE SIMG

No word on PC yet.

But yeah if you want gamepass you can access it that way or jut buy it outright like any other game

Does it? I supposedly live near a Premier flight school, that costs 35k a semester.

yes

Attached: SkyKing.jpg (2521x545, 284K)

>but ED are greedy retards
just stop being a poorfag.
I buy every module for max price just to support them.

Attached: collateral damage.jpg (1920x1080, 403K)

Anyone else get a boner watching this?

whales are apparently sustainable

Can I grope the flight attendant when she brings me my food or does it non simulate that part?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! THEY MADE A NEW ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

At least you posted a plane that's "finished".

>supporting early access kikery
>supporting devs selling 30% finished aircraft for full price so they can give up at 50%
Fuck you

I guess the IS or some other muslims are excited too

90 percent of people are gonna crash the plane a couple times and never play it again

Attached: 1503423298788.png (535x632, 548K)

Best part of the show

Think Microsoft will give this one another shot?

Attached: F391FC31-3F56-4142-A762-42927375C4E9.jpg (461x640, 42K)

Who else deserves that money if not them?
its important to support them.
also F18, F14 and soon F16. fucking nice.

If you are into flightsims and bitch about money you picked the wrong hobby.

Attached: huey2.jpg (1920x1080, 694K)

>Horribly optimized
Yeah but if you have a good pc you get 60fps no issues.
>Ed and 3rd pary devs love to ramp up prices
That one time you mean? Everyone waits for sales, and the base game with everything you need to learn if youll enjoy the game with 2 full fidelity aircraft is fucking free.
>Essential dlcs
There is no such thing as an essential dlc in dcs not even remotely close dont know what you meant by this, makes me think you tried installing the game your shitty laptop couldnt run it so now you talk shit sour grapes style

>X-Plane 11 VR mode is fucking amazing
>addon planes are all broken and don't work as well as the default ones in VR
Fuck I hope they don't fuck it up

i remember watching my dad playing flight simulator with a flying stick everytime he had some free time, i'm sure he'll love this

They should make a Korean war flight simulator

this. nothing wrong with DCS.

Attached: Screen_130125_194432.jpg (1920x1080, 151K)

you pay the monthly thing and can download/play any games offered on gamepass for no extra charge

Are there any mods/addons to authentically sim flying WWII planes. I don't mean combat either as I could play IL2 or Wings of prey or something for that, I mean for example, fly a Corsair from O'Hare to Lake Michigan and back.

why can't simg fly? what keeps happening?

You need excessive autism to enjoy airplane sims
every person that got hype for this shit needs to have sex

>the game with 2 full fidelity aircraft
1 full fidelity (the unarmed trainer) and one simple modelled slav attack plane.

It was stated it is powered by satellite images and azure AI. I see some decent tesselation and other graphic effects, which kind of makes me somewhat hyped. Time to get my joysticks from the storage and brew some covfefe. Flightsims are comfy, and I've missed FS for a while now. I am don't have skyhigh expectations, I like to stay grounded until I've seen more of it.

Holy shit that skybox
Literally the best E3 has shown in years

Attached: Screenshot_20190610-051458.png (1920x1200, 1.21M)

Wasn't there a flight stimulator company that inserted spyware and malware with the actual official software to even paid customers?

Yes, Mr. Obvious the clown.

DCS is great if you know how to not get scammed, though.

The rules are really quite simple

-Don't buy WW2 shit
-Buy only what you are interested in flying
-Buy only from ED themselves or Heatblur
-Never preorder anything

Bam, done, enjoyable experience at a really good cost.

Attached: Fast_erect_button(Push_to_erect).jpg (815x705, 57K)

This is a perfect example of a game i would never buy but still interested to play for a couple of hours thanks to game pass.

>skybox
user, it's a flight simulator. That isn't a skybox. You see those clouds? You can fly there.

Most third party vendors do this, but ED and Heatblur don't. ED at least will stop once their aircraft is complete, it just may take a long, long time.

I really wish they do, now that they’ve got the base simulator down.

-Buy only from ED themselves or Heatblur
Why shouldn't I buy a module that's on sale on steam?

I'm literally a touchless virgin and enjoy flight simulators like nothing else.

Attached: bump.jpg (1918x945, 298K)

The flight sim community is dedicated. But currently X-Plane 11 holds the throne. But this will probably be very popular, especially with vatsim and that other ATC program.
Quite fascinating how serious those players take their games, I mean those that are "ATCs" in the multi-player does it very seriously.

Yes, but they only inserted it into their module that they sold.
rockpapershotgun.com/2018/02/19/flight-sim-group-put-malware-in-a-jet-and-called-it-drm/

The game itself was fine, the addon that cost money is what was fucky.

>steam
Don't do this.

No, sorry, I mean buy modules that ED and Heatblur make, not buy it only from ED's store.

If a module is on sale on Steam, go for it. As long as it's a module made by either ED themselves or one of the third party devs that are trustworthy (the list of these is tiny.)

IS IT TIME FOR MORE AIRFORCE PROUD KINO?

Me too. Im a broken guy with a few screws loose...

brehs

Yeah one civ sim 3rd party developer bundled spyware with one of their addons in order to try and catch a single pirate. They apparently got the guy (with illegally obtained information that's inadmissible in court) but caught absolute hell for exposing their clients to malware and privacy breaches.

Which is more boring, piloting a plane or steering a large ship in the ocean?

But imagine how much better DCS would be if
>they never spent a single dollar or second on making WW2 shit nobody wants
>pre-ordering wasn't an option, and devs actually needed a viable product to sell
The game has objective problems, namely a complete lack of focus, trying to be an "everything simulator" when it's really a Cold War combat flight simulator. It also lacks basic quality of life features, like being able to SAVE YOUR GAME and not having to redo a 3 hour mission over again if you hit the back of the carrier. DCS is good at systems and aerodynamics simulation, but literally everything else has been done better by Falcon 4.0 which was 2 decades ago. The ATC sucks, the AI sucks, the missiles suck.

comfy as fuck

Attached: 2hours.jpg (1917x995, 366K)

Also they have used google maps 3D scans in certain places. Look at the trees at the near the tower. They look stretched out just like trees like that looks on Google Maps 3D.

What is the absolute bare minimum when it comes to flight SIM peripherals

I already have a logitech g27 for euro truck and I am worried that sims might become a problem if I delve too deep. like would it work with a joystick? if I got a hotas I could play elite too

They should liven it up by introducing Firefighting Mode

Let you be in charge of firefighting aircraft and fight stimulated forest fires.

Im the guy you replied to and there is some issues, ed is a little scummy needs to work with there community better the game could be better optimized and some 3rd party devs are shitty, But all of those problems are easily negated by the following:
1. have a good computer by not being a poor degenerate, If you have the focus and attention to spend hours reading a manual your probably well on your way for this one.
2. Learn which devs are shitty and dont buy the planes on release so they learn early access is stupid. This is not hard, Heatblur and ed are good, razbam is commonly considered shit but as long as you wait for the planes to leave early access they function as intended.
3. ED needs to focus there efforts on one thing at a time and gain a sense of direction, whoever said they are not sustainable is stupid af cause theyve been in business for like 20 years.
Despite all these things the most fun ive ever had in a videogame in my entire life was tomcat ops with a squadron and a real rio in my backseat. Have a random cat screen

Most impressive graphics hands down

Ask a Dovetail games employee anything

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick

Website is up, not much on it right now though.

>fsi.microsoftstudios.com/

What are some flight recording kino?

Bare minimum is an Xbox controller. You can totally play most flight sim games with your mouse + controller

If you want low-range comfy HOTAS for combat sims, flight sims, and other autistic shit. I recommend this:
amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2960778-Thrustmaster-T16000M-HOTAS/dp/B01KCHPRXA/

You don't NEED it, but your experience improves immensely when you don't have to move your hands over to a mouse to change the radio or the keyboard to change your trim.

Attached: TWCS.jpg (300x211, 11K)

How will this flight sim handle crash animations now?

You and literally every single flight training school

Logitech 3D pro, then knock-off TrackIR like a Delanclip headtracking if you want to spend more money. Headtracking is more important than a throttle. If you want a slightly nicer stick, the Thrustmaster T.16000 since it uses the same sensors (magnetic, not potentiometer).

With no survivors.

The Cat is too good for DCS. I'm not even kidding.
It's a shame that Heatblur's stuff, the Tomcat and the Viggen, are stuck in the game held together with sticky tape and string known as DCS.

Actual flying simulators used to train pilots are red taped by copyright, right?

Like Boeing and Airbus don't let you fly the latest models just like how Toyota isn't a big fan of letting their cars appear in racing games?

>It's a everyone inside the plane passengers and crew alike passes out episode

>it's a crashing in another plane while attempting to take off in Spain episode

>it's a pilot deliberately flies the plane toward a mountain while having locked the door and passengers can only look at the other pilot in terror while he desperately tries to plead with him to open the door episode

>Thrustmaster T.16000 since it uses the same sensors (magnetic, not potentiometer)
I forgot the rest - same sensors as nicer sticks like the Warhog HOTAS. Also headtracking mightn't be as necessary in a civ sim when compared to a combat sim

Seconding this. The Logitech extreme is actually a really good stick for a good price that has everything you need. I'ts just clunky sometimes.

Micro & Soft better gives me full G1000 functionality this time

absolutely agree.
I'm probably gonna buy the F14 but not sure as F18 also looks sexy and can't decide what I wanna fly first.

Sure is this going to be like that disaster that was Microsoft Flight?
Are you going to load it with free to play shit and then dumb the flight models down for the Xbox anyway?

>It's a "Pilots are too dumb to override the automatic trim settings and pancake into the ground" episode
I HATE RERUNS

You're not. Flightsim chads are a silent majority on this board. We remember how fucking good this shit was back in the day. Day 1 buy for me. Only this and Tales of Arise interest me at all, PSO2 would have if they did it 5-6 years ago instead of 10 years after launch.

Honestly with that kind of terrain/detail/traffic/weather, it would be nice to have an overworld game where you could do other things like ground and ship vehicles. I know there are dedicated games for those but is there one that simulates the entire world?

The tomcat is so fucking good i still cant get over it. It is literally the highest quality simulation of anything available, Ive never played a video game, simulator anything that gives you such a real tangible *Feel* like the cat does it really gives you a sense of the plane you know what i mean? Same with how unforgiving it is, i do multiplayer ops and everyones used to the hornet and constantly tears the wings off

>being excited for a fucking husk that won't even have like 10% of the functions it does and won't be completed for years

ooooh user you have such a long and fun road ahead of you, is this your first full fidelity module? Becasue honestly depending on how much you know about 4th gen modern aircraft id actually steer you away from 14 or 18 and say get the f-5 first. I dont actually have the 18 and ive heard its very ergonomic and idiot proof but thats from peoiple who already know the basics and have flown prior fourth gens so i would really consider fc3 or the f-5 if you dont have much knowledge on how radars and engines work

I really like the F-18 itself, but carrier ops are honestly a chore, and 95% of the missions start and end on a carrier. Every time I take a break from the game I need to practice the CASE 1 recovery procedure another dozen times, and it just gets tiring. Wish we had some more missions from a canadian/australian/spanish perspective, because squeaking the wheels on tarmac is so much nicer than slamming down on a carrier.

what type of plane is that?

Fucking retard read the thread and youd know no one plays ww2 except actual fucking mongoloids.
Youve literally proved my point by bringing up the fact they got started on kickstarter, you have to be literal sub 60 iq to support ANYTHING on kickstarter.
Furthermore the term essential does not apply to the fuckinG sideshow ww2 shit that YOU DONT NEED TO PLAY THE GAME NOT ESSENTIAL YOU FUCKING IDIOT.
If its fucking essential then why do i have over 1000 hours and not a single of the things you just listed? Like shut the fuck up man you obviously dont know what your talking about.

Seconding this user, Get the F-5E on sale.
It's not as capable as the F-18, it has one guided Air to Ground weapon and two sidewinders as it's only air to air capability aside from its guns.
That said
It's probably the best representation of it ever in a flight sim. Belsimtek were geniuses at this.

Attached: Revision2-1.jpg (640x320, 114K)

thanks

An actual F-18 pilot that have a vid of him and another former F-18 pilot playing together were impressed AFAIK by the F18 module. In another video they try it out in VR and film himself and while doing a maneuver you can see him prepare his body for the maneuver he is doing. I guess instincts kicks in.

Are you trolling or actually this stupid?
I never claimed they werent scummy.

This and now I have IFF to learn on top of it.

Which is the husk? The Viper or Deadstick?

The F-16 is practically done. It shares a ton of avionics with the Hornet, and most of those are complete at this point. deadstick, I'm not certain about but I'm hopeful for.

goddamn user, I'm on a nofap.

I'm excited as hell, especially for the true-to-life scenery stuff. Drives me nuts when I go flying around my area in X-Plane and nothing looks right at all, despite living not far from the center of a very major city.

Seconding the T.16k recommendation. It's the only HOTAS under $500 worth buying, bar none. The only thing better is a Virpil or VKB setup, and you're looking at closer to $700+ by the time you've got one of those.

The only other thing I'd consider looking at at all is the Logitech (formerly Saitek) yoke package, if you're interested in a dedicated setup for flying Cessnas and airliners and similar.

MUH SIMPLICITY

Attached: night.png_Thumbnail0.jpg (1920x1080, 1.43M)

I was talking about the viper, and how the fuck is it practically done when the hornet is nowhere near complete either?

A bit of visual acuity.

fuck off muhammed

It would be cool if you actually have planes being taxied on the runway by other players and if the planes actually can dock with terminals.
Maybe we can get some passenger mechanics with a career mode.

Is that a nuclear power plant's mainframe control panel? What do you need so much shit for? I love it.

VR for helicopters is incredible. TrackIR shines in stuff like combat and dogfights, because you only need to move your head a little to look behind you and you don't have resolution issues (VR can make it difficult to read gauges). With where current gen VR is, or where next-gen VR will be, I'd take the VR for everything except super sperg win at all costs dogfighting

No, it looks awesome

That was a fun stream.

>The only other thing I'd consider looking at at all is the Logitech (formerly Saitek) yoke package, if you're interested in a dedicated setup for flying Cessnas and airliners and similar.
Will keep my eye out for T. 16k
don't really want to splurge on a yoke setup because it's too specific to flight sims for me, with a steering wheel or a joystick I feel like I can play a lot of different games with just those - maybe in 40 years when I can splurge and piss my future wife off with my enthusiast purchases

who /viggen/ here

Attached: Screen_180207_151824.jpg (3440x1440, 461K)

So if you played a fucking shit ton of x plane 11 with the 737 mod that should be as authentic as it can be more or less, I wonder if in that scenario you'd in real life easier learn to fly the real thing than someone who have never played a sim.

FSX could do this in multiplayer. There was also a mod for docking which even had cues for where you needed to park.

>the fact that you aren't there in the cockpit
What about VR

t. VR simbro

I really hope Microsoft announces VR support for the Scarlet sometime near launch (if at all).

> AI is getting so good that we can now play open world games on the entire earth

I can't wait for the inevitable racing version of this tech.

no not my first full fidelity module, learning and flying it isn't a problem. Tutorials are also comfy from what I seen with the A10, the MiG21 or the F18.

>I dont actually have the 18
I tested it once during a free weekend on Steam.
good plane but obviously 1 weekend isn't enough to get a full picture, it was also nowhere near done back then like there were no carrier ops.

>but carrier ops are honestly a chore
I was always fascinated by them

>Wish we had some more missions from a canadian/australian/spanish perspective
I wish there were Bombers, like the B1 or B2 or F117. wasn't a TU22 supposed to happen? what happened to that?

MiG21 is really simple to fly tho.

VR in DCS is fine but it could be a lot better. It does some tricks with visuals that make things harder (like spotting) and obscure some important functions like being able to read labels on your gauges and stuff like that.

Low throttle, keep the landing gear down, and cruise down the highways in style.

Attached: 1534372177015.png (720x717, 565K)

There's more to it than you'd expect, lots of managing signaling, speed limits that vary a lot, etc. I've watched a few videos of TrainSimWorld and similar games and have realized that I'm nowhere near autistic enough for them, despite being the kind of guy who'll do a four-hour flight in a Cessna in X-Plane for fun.

Never try to understand train people. It's a special kind of autism
youtube.com/watch?v=kDYPH7wh2Qs

literally UNPLAYABLE

How do you know it's not like that in real life?

just smooth it lmao like fucking curve it bro

Of course that goes without saying that you have to pay attention to that stuff. But I wonder how hard it is.

Back in the day I would do 10 hour flights in FSX in real time from Chicago to Hawaii

The most beautiful airplane of all time.

It seems to be pretty difficult based on how often the youtubers I watch who play those games fuck it up.

Now that's a little bit beyond what I can get into, mostly just because you spend most of the time doing nothing at high altitude where you can't see much of anything. I like doing GA stuff because you get to watch the scenery go by and, depending on route, have to fly around or even through it. I hope to own my own plane in a few more years as well, so I gravitate to flying planes and routes I might be able to do in real life.

>mfw Microsoft tries to manage the modding community

Attached: 1552859403878.png (285x267, 148K)

Seems pretty heavily focused on scenery. The important part is the flight dynamics though. Funnily enough the motion of that plane taking off in the trailer looked pretty bad.

What is the point of this game? Is it for autists who are fascinated by aircraft? You only fly right? No campaign, career etc?

There have been flight sims with story and missions since the 90s

You are like little babby. I remember back in my full autismo days playing msfs2004 with vatsim multi and flying for a virtual airline. It wasnt uncommom for me to do a round trip from uk to aus atleast twice a week in real time.

How does a total scrub into Flight Simulators? They look like the absolute greatest achievement of vidya imaginable and yet I know nothing about them.

Do I need to buy an Xbone?

You fucks are the only ones I know autistic enough to actually play this
which means you are also the only ones who can understand me
how will we have a interconnected airspace when this comes out? All Yea Forums pilots and ATCs on one server spanning the world. Imagine.

MS is pretty social media savvy and put a bunch of notable cars and people in Forza, anybody hoping for something similar in the new MSFS? I'd love to see Trent Palmer's Freedom Fox, Steveo's TBM, Mike Patey's Draco, etc. in the game, maybe get the people involved too and have FlightChops do the tutorials or something.

No, PCs are absolutely the way to go for flightsims, modding is a big part of the scene and most games have tons of well-done free planes, scenery, etc. out there in addition to paid DLC-style ones. Getting into them is pretty straightforward if you just want to buzz around in planes, just get X-Plane or FSX and a T.16000M to start with and go from there. (It gets a lot more complicated if you want to follow realistic procedures, play servers with ATC and IFR flying, etc., or play military sims like DCS, but that's all optional.)

Nah, it's coming to PC too. You could play Flightgear aka the open source implementation of the old Microsoft flight sim.

>Do I need to buy an Xbone?
No, upgrade your PC and get Xplane11.

No, I'm so fucking hyped. Honestly Microsoft's best announcement.

>want to get this but know jack fuck about aviation and will probably spend a month learning how to get off the ground

I used to fly planes on FS 95 when I was 6 years old, you will do fine user.

Depends on what kind of Flight Simulator you want famalam.
Shit like Strike Fighters 2 is a good introduction to "realistic" flight simulators as you can adjust the difficulty and flight models from Ace Combat to somewhat realistic and get a proper feeling for flying planes.
You just move upwards from there then.

Attached: [MUFFLED KINO PLAYING IN THE DISTANCE].jpg (1920x1080, 325K)

Flying is easy, navigating and communicating are the hard parts.

Yea Forums server for flight sim

I anticpate the austismfest

Most planes are easy as piss to actually fly. It's the systems, the "correct" approaches and pattern work, communications with ATC, instrument-only stuff, navigation etc that needs work put in to it. Any retard can load up a flight sim with a 360 controller or a cheapo joystick and fly around

MS Flight Simulator is not autism simulator. It's only autism simulator if you install enough 3rd party addons. Then it's basically like flying a real plane except no stewardesses to fuck

Took me best part of a year to perfect flying airliners in Sim.

Attached: b738_4k - 2019-06-06 11.12.09.png (2560x1440, 3.32M)

Anyone can be a navigator if he can tell his ass from his elbow

Will there be some kind of Yea Forums pilot school so I can join up and learn all the ins and outs as a copilot?

Attached: b738_4k - 2019-06-06 12.45.49.png (2560x1440, 1.11M)

It's still a lot more complicated than just doing VFR joyrides, and when I say "navigating" I'm really talking about learning all the ins and outs of flight planning, reading charts, properly flying departures and approaches, understanding and using navigation equipment, communicating with ATC, etc.

...

It's been 3 years since I've done real pilot shit, but I'm sure I can tell you how to fly even if I've forgotten half the law shit and terminology

Never really was into these series but it looks comfy as heck.

Any tips on how to get butter?

Go to the store. I recommend Kerrygold.

Grocery store. In the fridges.

RTFM

There are better sticks with metal gimbals and replaceable springs and cams and whatnot. They are more expensive than the Warthog but not by much.
Warthog lives in an awkward niche halfway between cheap and good sticks. That's a bad thing.

Kinda hard to trust Microsoft.

Too much abandon ware.

Just like Google which likes abandoning things, too.

The only people I trust with train simulators would be Japan to be honest.

No Japanese company is willing to spend the cash for a mainstream train simulator game though.

It has to do with being a niche genre and the economics don't support so much investment in such a game.

What do you guys think of motorized paragliding or motorized hang gliding?

It was the best part of the whole Microsoft E3 Presentation

can i do dogfights in ms flight sim? or is it just boring flying from a to b?

how in depth is it or will it be arcadish? what about 3rd party support what about using yoke and pedals?

>4 wasteful engines
Swerve, peasant. Best passenger jet ever made coming through.

A to B can be interesting depending on the aircraft/region/flight conditions. The challenge missions in FSX would mix it up with stuff like carrier landings, photo shoots, landing on a moving bus, etc.

just popping in to say fuck eagle dynamics and their dicksucking forum fags

>boring flying from a to b?
Uncultured swine
>I must shoot things to have fun

Found the mutt.

>simulators

you know people get paid $100k for doing this shit irl ?

Logitech magical swiss magitek saved Saitek from the impending doom. the Logitech rhino is now solid with a good support and warrancy.

>suddenly murritards

>only Americans like rooty tooty point n shooty
literally everyone likes it, shut up and have a good time with friends, Hans.

What's the best casual flight sim? Something where I can start a bit arcadey where most things are handled for me and I can work my way up as I gain experience.

Unless EA Stops Fucking Around with the Jane's IP for once, and THQ starts using the Novalogic Sim Ip's, it will take a while.
Flight sims works perfectly when you have both Advanced and Mid Arcade available for everyone like in the 90's.

No one knows who the fuck owns the Falcon and F-15 Ip's

Flying an airliner from AB is a lot more technical than just flying a jet plane and shooting things in the sky retards.

>available for xbox one
>it's just going to be an arcadey "simlite"

Okay, but simulators are niche for a reason, user. Most people don't agree with you that these games are fun. I like simulators and not only that, I'm an American! Then we dig deeper, Microsoft is an American company! And Yea Forums is an American website! MERCY ME. Most of those sweet planes for the sims were made in America too! WOWIE! You're probably an Airbus fag though, so this one might not matter as much to you.

No you aren't, you dull, no-fun allowed type faggot.

>We will never see a Remastered US Navy Fighters game or ATF with a working and now info avaliable Rockwell MBB

why even live?

Mutt detected

I am. I'm also right and that's why you have to fall back to calling me a mutoid or whatever. Enjoy your meme buzzwords (that were also manufactured on an American website)

Based TriCHAD

ATF Intro was the coolest SHIT ever made back then

90's EA was Competent Evil when it came to this and WC

Use to play X on an old desktop. Basically ran it at low graphics but was ultra comfy. I hope they add destruction physics.

But only with the Lockheed. DC stands for Death Chamber

can't wait to simulate MCAS overriding my input

FSX was global if I remember correctly.

>Microsoft 9/11 simulator

i wished for a new flight sim at E3 and it came true.

Considering that Xbox consoles just got a big update for M+K Support I'd imagine so.

whats the best version of older Flight Simulator editions? i wanna try them out

Maybe the joystick will return.

>flight sim thread hitting bump limit on Yea Forums
Has this ever happened?

what game is that?

DCS
Bomb was dropped by the A10C.

You literally have to start flying at 18 to be able to gain the hours and ratings to become an airline pilot plus a fuckload of money and access to an airport/field. It's a life decision moreso than trades. The military is the fastest track to pilot if your not a smoothbrain.

oh I thought it was something else, too bad my shit box can't run it

Why are DCS fags so obnoxious? Is it because they sunk so much money into the Star Citizen of flying games?

whats the problem?
DCS is good

They've already made that game

So is the MCS gonna be paid DLC?

>this thread got more posts than the last few /simg/ that died combined
