Actually good game or a meme pushed by shills?
Actually good game or a meme pushed by shills?
I liked it. Shit ending though
i played it solely for the art style, the gameplay is exactly what you think it is. If the art is what caught your eye in the first place then give it a shot.
Good game.
Also more apparent Metroid influence than SotN influence like pretty much every other metroidvania out there, if that's what you're looking for. I can only name ESA being similarly more Metroid-like
I heard the dude was working AM2 years ago, guess i heard wrong or it's dead?
Who even shills this?
It's pretty mediocre.
Games good, bosses end up being a bit shit.
Fun soundtradck
i've played about 45 minutes, got a couple different guns, killed the first boss. got bored at the complete lack of story or overarching purpose and haven't picked it back up.
People said it's a metroid-clone with nice art.
It's a metroid-clone with nice art.
It's more that there's really not an awful lot of indie games worth talking about. Axiom Verge is just a placeholder in time.
You know what was absolutely a meme pushed by shills? Lone Survivor. That game sucked my fucking dick.
It fucking sucks, and I am heavily taking price into account. This game is is not worth twenty dollars, let alone the 10 it always goes on sale for. people in this thread are shilling the game ironically to dupe you into buying it. Play literally any other metroidvania game. If you're still curious, then pirate it.
The amnesia segment is one of the more memorable segments in any metroidvania game for me.
Bosses kinda lame but the boss music is great
I like it.
>taking price into account
it was free on the epic store.
Mid tier metroidvania. Nothing special but a competently made game. Best part IMO is the soundtrack and art style, they're gorgeous.
I can vouch for Hollow Knight and Salt and Sanctuary.
I can anti-vouch for Dust: Elysian "this straight line of an area totally needs a map" Tail and the Strider reboot, those games are fucking boring. Strider had nice music for the Kazakh City, though.
you mean people aren't being paid to promote a 4 year old indie game?
You gave your credit card info to chinks and let them scan your computer for fucking Axiom Verge? You should have just pirated.
I love Rabi-Ribi
why would you go out of your way to add credit card info to their store just to download free games?
I can't get into Hollow Knight no matter how hard I try. The music is too calm for me to get excited over going for monster hunting and the enemies are too cute for me to feel satisfied when I kill them.
And fuck the guy who thought breaking down the traditional map making into multi parts for a sense of progress is a good idea.
what games have actually decent endings? the vast majority of them suck major dick and leave you feeling like you wasted your time it seems
>Download epic games
>Get free games
>Never buy games.
"They are stealing your info!!!"
God, you are dumb.
Why would you make an account to a store and install a launcher for a game that you could pirate guilt-free? Axiom Verge dev got Epic's money, he's making rent.
>pirating firgirl/igg botnet malware with "crack.exe" requirements instead of just downloading the game from a legit source for free
lol
>And fuck the guy who thought breaking down the traditional map making into multi parts for a sense of progress is a good idea.
Super Metroid.
Shame you can't get into the music. I like the subdued vibe, definitely a game that wants you to calm the fuck down.
Harvester's is fucking amazing. Still stuck with me after all this time.
Axiom Verge wasn't bad at all but it wasn't amazing, either. It's functional and the world is interesting enough for a playthrough (but I wouldn't collect all the invisible hidden bullshit for 100%). I'm glad I nabbed it for free.
Are you talking about the normal ending? I usually hate predictably edgy twists but I didn't mind that one. I just liked the idea of a naive protagonist becoming a broken man who spent so much time living and dying on a mysterious alien hellscape he can't function any other way, and would go back at any cost. What really let me down was the whole Breach thing and the genocide plague weren't connected in any interesting way. There was no meta-twist, it was all just mad science.
it's a 7/10 game
get it at least 50% off
Nothing about the game is bad, but nothing about it grabbed my interest either. I put an hour or two into it and haven't felt the urge to go back to it.
Pirate it first, then buy it if you like it.
>get it at least 50% off
>at least 50%
Axiom Verge has literally never had a bigger discount than 50%.
I liked both ending
Rusalki feel progressively more shady and questionable throughout the game, normal ending leaves some feelings of not being right. Additional lore amplifies that and completed ending pretty much spells out for you that you got played like a damn fiddle and serves as sequel hook
I quite enjoyed it though I haven't replayed it since my initial 100% playthrough (I used a guide because some of the items are so obtuse)
It stands out due to the interesting weapon variety and can be fun to play around with enemy interactions. Otherwise it's a pretty standard Metroid game which is fine to me because I love Metroid.
