Solo campaign is perfectly fun and doable. Though back when I played it you could tell that the optional raid bosses were mostly bullet sponges designed for co-op. Still for that price, if you're even a little bit into that genre, it's a steal and will entertain you for an assload of time.

It's the constant switching of momentum I think. An ARPG doesn't excite you enough at any given moment that swapping equipment takes you out of it, a shooter does.

Borderland games is always like a secondary activity to something else. Wouldn't play them nowadays.

Pre Sequel was a worse/smaller game but way better character trees, skills, etc. The gameplay was all there but the content wasnt.

For aurelia there's a skill that freezes enemies on headshot and another skill that adds a roulette minigame to sniper rifles, there's a circle with all the elements and if you fire when a specific element is highlighted you do damage with that element until you unscope. Basically she just shits out elemental damage as long as you can land headshots with a rifle.

DD's main draw is risk management and finding the best way to shift the tide of battle in your favor. So if you play the game without trying to beat the system, you're going to get stomped. There's a lot of reading involved, so if that doesn't sound like something you'd be into, don't get it.

The new DLC, which is going to be announced and made avalible “right now” at e3 in a few hours, is going to be totally free.

Basically it’s a really expensive marketing campaign for Bl3 (make bl2 free on PS+ and 97% off on Steam, and then drum up even more interest with free expansion that acts as direct cliffhanger into Bl3’s story). Plus it’s a massive ego trip for Randy, Bl2 is one of most successful games of all time, they’ve made obscene amounts of money from it, and now Randy gets to brag about a free campaign DLC and how amazing Gearbox is for still supporting a 7 year old game with new content. Randy gets his ass kissed by press and especially public opinion, and also acts as a huge fuck you to all of Borderlands’ competitors, none of them ever matched its quality anyway but now Bl2 is giving away free DLC’s while other games are monetised to hell.

It’s 100% calculated marketing, that’s being sold as “crazy charitable Randy giving gamers what they want”. But I’m not complaining, I do really like Bl2 and if dropping a free expansion to hype a sequel becomes normal, that’s only a good thing.
