PREPARE FOR ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
Elden Ring is directed by Yui "The Hack" Tanimura

They've been doing garbage since before dark souls 2
Tanimura's based though, it's no coincidence that the best Souls games were directed by him
OP there was second hack DS2 director. Whats his name?
At least get your lore on the DS2 development straight user.
Source please.
big if true
I really like this, DS2 development was awfull, DLC was awesome i hope he will deliver, it's his chance, if not, i can live without another DS, would be very interesting to watch this unfold, i like that miyazaki are not touching this
nigga the word has been from the start that Miyazaki is collaborating with grrm
but DS2 is the best game in the Souls series. Most covenants, most weapons, most builds, most spells, powerstancing, most variety, most replayability, comfiest town, best pvp.
>bu-bu-muh deadzone
get over it and you'll discover a masterpiece
>ds 2
So it wont be boring like 3 at least
dark souls 2 was the best of the souls series, so I'm sure a the new game will be 11/10 absolute banger
based and redpilled
DS2 FAGS BTFO
"Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki—creator of the influential Dark Souls video game series; and George R.R. Martin—author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftware’s largest game to-date.
>most most most
And yet they all suck
Oh no... Dropped!
I like DS2, but do you really think that more equals better?
There was never an open world game I liked so From would have to do absolute magic for me to be interested in this.
wrong
Welp DS2 is at least better than Suckiro.
Miyazaki is a brand now, they'll say that he makes literally everything the studio releases. Kind of like Suda. I'm pretty sure co-director of Sekiro is the actual director of Sekiro
Damm that's gonna be good
from what i've heard it's not actually open world, just beyond the interconnectivity of Ds1
B-b-but I enjoyed DS2
cope
true, but he says even though he's the CEO he enjoys directing games most. surely he actually directed one of these games. maybe he just "co-directed" both of them and he's been secretly doing bloodborne 2 for the PS5 release next year.
Holy fucking shit kys. Not only is DS2 easily the worst From game, it's also one of the worst games I've ever played period. I still seethe at the time and money I wasted on that crap.
Dark Souls is open world.
Bloodborne 2 isn't in development
What exactly does that mean? That there are just more stages?
Because what I liked most about recent From games, except most of Sekiro, were the levels. Restricting where the player can go allows you to build really neat and dense stages with surprises. Nothing bores me more than wandering around aimlessly through wide open areas. Ideally, I want each and every part of the stage to feal meaningful. Sekiro failed to do this probably because the player had too much mobility. The only area I liked was that one part of Fountainhead Palace that had the flute fags who drain your life. That was the only part in which I felt happy to get through because I couldn't just Yolo around but had to plan each step carefully.
I bet you haven't even finished it more than once. It's easily the most fun DS game for a veteran of the series.
>Not only is DS2 easily the worst From game
That title clearly belongs to Sekiro though.
That title actually belongs to Dark Souls 3.
More options at any given time, ds1 you've got 8 or so areas accessible from the start, elden ring will be something like 12
Let's not turn this into a semantic dispute. What I mean is that I dislike games that have giant open areas like Witcher, or Farcry, or Minecraft, or Fart of the Wild, or No Man's Sky. I want stages where everything is purposefully placed, rather than something that could just as well be randomly generated.
no
>DS2fags think having content spread thin for the sake of quantity makes up for all the shitty technical issues and overall boring gameplay experience
O I'm laffin
>secretly doing bloodborne 2 for the PS5 release next year
Every time. Will you BB2 fags give it up already.
I have faith
DS2 could have been the best souls game with more development time and the original lighting before they had to downgrade for consoles
Wow that's really bad taste you got there. It actually goes like this: BB>DS3>DS1>DS>DS2>>>Sekiro
I have the platinum, it's a bad game. I only completed it because it was easy, and because at first I was shocked and deluded like you.
swap sekiro with ds2 and you've got yourself the perfect ranking
Dark Souls isn't open world, it's just a series of hallways with the world as a backdrop.
oh, so you're like those people that give "Not recommended" Steam reviews but have 1000+ hrs playtime
sekiro is great though, you're just a pleb.
It doesn't even take a quarter of that time to complete DSII.
be quiet retard
There is only one linear section of Dark Souls (Sen's Fortress and Anor Londo). It's open world.
But I liked DS2. It had the best PvP and viability of the craziest builds. DLC was great too.
Only criticism I can give it is most bosses were "Dude in heavy armor"
I doubt more time would've changed the at time utterly atrocious level design.
>viability of the craziest builds
That's because there's one moveset for each weapon type. They didn't even bother with the special R2 attacks.
nah you're just in the honeymoon phase because it is the most recent title. In three years, Sekiro will be somewhere at the buttom of your ranking as well, especially because it isn't very memorable and has no replayability.
The best thing about these From games were always the stages, and Sekiro has the worst stages...and boss fights and the most limited mechanics and variety...it's really the worst in every regard I can think of. I guess it has more enemy animations?
Forest of Fallen Giants, Lost Bastille, and all the DLCs have better level design than any level in DS1
>source:my ass
what else is new
You're right, I only finished it once. Why would I play it multiple times if I wound up hating it? I seriously doubt that other DS veterans share that same belief.
I'm currently playing through Sekiro and it's good.
DS3 was fantastic.
cope
>muh comfy
the absolute state of a DS2fag's intelligence
>DS3 was fantastic.
lel
don't listen to these pc-fats dude. BB2 or whatever the gothic dark fantasy game will be called, is already in development since 1.5 years ago. Sony and Japan Studio exclusive
Lost bastille is literally enemy spam in small rooms: the level.
Forest is ok but looks nauseating.
The DLCs are full of filler and have some of the most generic enemies in the series, many of them use the same model as the player character.
BB is the worst Souls game. DaS2 is the best.
>DS2 has shit level desig-
fucking retard. DS2 had some other director first and he did such a bad job they had to drag tanimura in to help duct tape it together into something that works. the DLCs were tanimura's doing.
Just like real castles
baiting you into Belfry Sol was great level design, that's a fun PvP area
Uhhhh... no. It was Tanimura who fucked everything up and then they had to drag Miyazaki away from BB to salvage at least some of it. That's why parts of BB feel unfinished, he wasted his time on trying to fix DaS2 instead of finishing BB. All because of that incompetent scum Tanimura.
>b-but it's a leak!
oh yeah nice link bro lol
besides
>letting westerners influence your games
phew have fun with that garbo if true
Baiting you into belfry sol with organic and realistic level design or clever tricks would be good level design, doing it in such a lazy and ridiculous way isn't.
>I'm currently playing through Sekiro and it's good.
Hint: You can easily run from every encounter. There are no dead ends, or traps to stop you and even falling from cliffs will not immediately kill you. So regardless of how many enemies surrounded you, there is never a need to feel threatened or excited in the levels of Suckiro. There is only one exception to this in the entire game.
Hint 2: When you parry perfectly, your guard will never be broken. So if you don't feel like running, just parry endlessly and you cannot die without the need manage your resources. So once again no need to ever feel excited or threatened.
Hint 3: Most enemies are blind and deaf. So enjoy your """stealth""" gameplay where you break pots right next to them and they don't notice you. Some can see through walls though so look out for that.
Hint 4: If you want to completely easy mode the game, then just look up the animations of bosses on youtube. Then you can one-shot every boss because the game turns into a toddler-tier cakewalk.
Sekiro sucks.
The leak came directly from Bandai Nachos shitty website, deep down (you) know it's real
>DARK SOULS 2 2.0 INCOMING
I hope so. I would love to see a game with the ambition and scale of DS2 get the care and attention it deserves
And that's completely fine. Don't let retards tell you what to like.
seconded
It's not lazy. They show you a bonfire to tempt you and make you jump down, even though you can see the one-way ledge. It's a perfect metaphor for the greed of humanity, similar to the Patches scenes, but more subtle. DS2 is too deep for you I guess.
>That's why parts of BB feel unfinished,
What parts feel unfinished?
>absolute garbage
But 2 was better than 3 AND bloodborne
Everything after Rom.
You can use the very same bonfire to teleport away though.
>it's also one of the worst games I've ever played period.
The only way you can think this is if you just started playing games in 2014. Compared to most AAA garbage DaS2 is a good game.
Being better than 3 is a low bar, if I've ever seen one.
Dark souls 2 was good
Byrgenwerth being the size of a tent
Cainhurst
Nightmare of Mensis
Actually excited.
Tanimura didn't really direct DaS2 though. He mainly just cleaned up the scraps from the previous director. The DaS2 DLCs were solely directed by Tanimura and they were fucking great.
>source: my ass
>soulsfags still claiming they dont like sekiro because they couldnt get past the chained ogre or lady butterfly
What's wrong with Cainhurst and Mensis?
They're large, complex levels with unique enemy types.
>Straight lines
>Complex levels
good bait
nigga what the fuck are you talking about
Why does Tanimura get so much hate?
But they both have plenty of loops and secret passages. Mensis has a three layer elevator.
>generic soldiers with big weapon
How can people be contempt with a game that only has this enemy type?
Yeah it looks cool, the first hours in DS3 was the best expirience, but then you know
well let´s see what happens when he isn´t hold back by technical standards and isn´t forced to do a souls game. The concept art for ds2 were fucking incredible.
bottom pic looks like a Skyrim 2 dungeon
Mensis is stacked vertically, it's nothing like a horseshoe.
>the first hours in DS3 was the best expirience
>wojak image
Great way to get everyone to stop taking you seriously
And is entirely linear.
>DS2 made pure faith caster viable and very strong in PvE
>nerfed him into the ground right when I started my meme fists+lightning bolts run
>DS2 made offensive consumables run possible
>nerfed them into the ground right when I started my meme alchemist run
Jesus you are a brainlet
really makes me think
Because people think he was fully responsible for DaS2. Shibuya should have been the one to catch all of the flak since he was the main person in charge of DaS2 for the majority of its development but it seems everyone already forgot about him.
The bridges yes, the rest no.
There are areas that can only be reached by jumping, plenty of secondary rooms and balconies like the one with the Mensis brain and the one with the bell maiden, unlockable parts and the secret area below the castle.
Micolash's boss area alone is built like a labyrinth.
You sound like you're trying to fool someone who hasn't played the game, but I think it's clear that I have.
There's a lot that Dark Souls 2 did right, to be honest.
>Extremely huge array of infusable weapons, you can make a poison infused MLGS if you like
>Fire damage can be capped with either intelligence or faith, rather than needing both
>Bonfire ascetics to redo bosses or areas you want to without going to NG+
>Content which is scaled for a very high level cap, giving you plenty of room for your character build
>PvP is good
>Blue Sentinels can both be summoned automatically and invade sinners, meaning you don't wait fifteen billion years just to do what your covenent is suppose to
>A shit ton of weapons and plenty of content to beat
I really, really don't like the adaptability stat and how fragile your weapons are though.
Ah shit, prepare for a good looking gameplay reveal only for the final game to look like fucking DOGSHIT. youtube.com
>all the DLCs have better level design than any level in DS1
>Extremely huge array of infusable weapons, you can make a poison infused MLGS if you like
You can do that in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls III and Bloodborne too, but it doesn't mean that you should.
Poison greatsword are always shit, and in Dark Souls II's case you don't even get ones with special attacks.
Completely optional area that was meant to be played in multiplayer. Fuck off.
Now do the one for dark souls 1
DS2 made durability actually relevant though. In all the other games you can just ignore it, it might as well not even be in the game. I liked having a main weapon and a backup weapon, plus it makes certain builds a challenge (like try a whip only playthrough, it takes thought and strategy to overcome the low durability).
It made durability dumb, unrealistic and broken, DS1 implemented it perfectly.
>>Extremely huge array of infusable weapons, you can make a poison infused MLGS if you like
>>A shit ton of weapons and plenty of content to beat
THIS you could just do a meele magic build and had enough weapons. Meanwhile ds3 was so shit in that aspect.
>You can do that in Dark Souls III
no you can´t? Half of the weapons are not able to be infused, especially if it´s something special or boss weapons.
hoping for an actual ice build.
>You can do that in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls III and Bloodborne too, but it doesn't mean that you should.
But you can't infuse the Moonlight Greatsword in DS3 or BB. My point was that they were a lot less restrictive with what weapons you can infuse with gems and which ones you can't.
>Sekiro
>Souls
>Ignores the existence of Kings Field etc
Not true, Elden Ring is directed by Miyazaki.
Tanimura's working on Bloodborne 2.
Things I want:
>Multiple weapon types with customizable movesets, combos, parries
>Ranged weapons
>Magic that doesn't make the game 2ez
>Character customization
>Different armor
>Rewarding explorations by hiding valuable items in secret areas
>Levels that are visually appealing and meaningfully designed
>An interconnected world
>An improved camera
>Improved hitboxes
>Uncharted-tier graphics
>Invasions and mulitplayer
>Companion animals/monsters which you can control (for example a rat with which you can crawl through tight spaces and see what is behind it)
>Stealth mechanic that actually feels stealthy (i.e. not like Suckiro)
>Improved AI (i.e. enemies who don't just blindly charge at you but who actually use the environment to their advantage)
>Dynamic weather that changes the environments (rain puts out torches, or makes rock faces slippery, or fills basins which allows you to swim to previously unreachable areas for example)
>Improved physics: for example spreadable fire, water that washes away enemies and structures
>Covenants
What I don't want:
>Cutscenes (except perhaps at the very beginning and ending)
>Lots of boring dialogue
>Vast open areas
>QTEs
>Fetch Quests
>Gimmicks
>Weapons that only have niche uses
>Chat
>Voice acting
>Riding a horse
>But you can't infuse the Moonlight Greatsword in DS3 or BB
You absolutely can do it in BB, that's what gems are for. You can also make a fire one or bolt one and they're pretty decent. In Dark Souls III you can't infuse that specific one, but there's plenty of other greatswords with near identical moveset you can ruin with poison infusion.
>You absolutely can do it in BB, that's what gems are for. You can also make a fire one or bolt one and they're pretty decen
Oh right, I forgot about that. My bad.
Cringe
Kids don't know about the king's field.
I hated DS2 vanilla but getting SOTFS this gen was nice. I unironically loved it, late game was great, and the lore was also great.
Shibuya. That was the shit director, Tanimura salvaged his mess.
That said, is talking out of his ass... except Tanimura wasn't moved to work on Sekiro after DS3 was done so it's very likely he will be a co-director. Main director is Miyazaki though, there's a reason he didn't write Sekiro and such, he was busy with this.
>SOTFS
it's pretty cool having two different enemy layouts to play through, I wish the other souls games had that
Must be a Suckiro fanboy.
>all these ds2 fags
oh no the game is going to be shit
Obsessed. Enjoy your downgraded unfinished piece of shit.
So is it safe to assume that the game is about a ring like LOTR. The ring will probably be magical.
>he thinks actual das2 fags exist
We are just pretending because it gives (You)s
>Sekiro stealth
>Bad
But I didn't enjoy Suckiro. You also forgot to mention the stealth that isn't stealthy and the unrewarding exploration.
Yes. Thanks for providing an example.
>we are merely pretending
oh hi retard
Martin isn’t Tolkien tho
also Fromsoftware already made Eternal Ring and it wasn’t really centered in one specific ring
What's funny is that the player didn't even have to crouch and could've just walked around there casually without being noticed either.
Ever consider gitting gud?
>bloodborne
>god tier
If you're a snoy boy, maybe. BB is one of the worst "souls" style games.
How's that a bad thing? Everything they made after DS2 has been utter shit pandering to CRAZYfags. DeS, DS1, and DS2 where the only good Souls games.
fuck this faggot level with "what if we put two fucking minibosses in there". I don´t even know how I beat it but I did it somehow.
tanimura is ok without him dark souls 2 would have been even more garbage
he also did most of the souls dlcs
>be Bloodborne hater
>immediately reveal yourself as a console war tard
Every single time
Cope.
yikes
Hunter's Nightmare is one of the ugliest levels ever made
But I like DS2?
THE MORE SHE DRANK
>letting westerners influence your games
yeah we don't need any western influence in our fromsoft titles
>>>Voice acting
I don't remember that plant thing in the bottom left, what is that?
T A X
P O L I C Y
Sounds more like a ring/cycle of life to me
as much as i didnt like DS2, DS3 is much more of a hack than 2 was. At least 2 was more innovative and TRIED to be distinct from 1. DS3 was pathetic, mostly OMG DID YOU GET THAT REFERENCE LOLL. Literal reddit-tier fanservice faggotry.
Name a game with good stealth
lol the game is too easy actually. the parry time window is very lenient and you literally get QTEs when you cannot parry.
THE MORE SHE ______.
Finally GRR Martin gonna fix the tax policy problem from Lord of the Rings Franchise.
Based fatman.
>most, most, most, most
quality over quantity, zoomer. kys
Bear seek seek sex
MGS5, Hitman
>largest game to date
n- nani?
It's the arena where you fight Living Failures.
>George R.R. Martin
Dropped. Titties aren't worth such bad writing.
Tanimura was in the same position as Itsuno, got stuck on a project with no clear way to fix it, thus we got DaS2 and DMC2. The whole light mechanic would be cool in a horror game but in Souls it likely would have gotten really fucking tedious especially if enemies could put out the lights
>DS3 was reddit-tier, fanfictio-
Ah yes the quality writing FROM is known for, he can only improve it
Every dev says this about every new game they release.
I have all 3 consoles and high end PC. Fuck, I bought my PS4 for bloodborne and spider-man. At least spider-man was good.
Chadvahn
I'm afraid that's not an allowed opinion
Who would be perfect for creating the world for a From game and why is it Junji Ito?
Imagine thinking sequels shouldn't connect to previous entries in a series. Do you get mad when tv shows have the same characters every episode?
>he wants combat in his horror game
nice mary sue
Not really. From's lore is best when most of it is kept secret and there are only tiny hints scattered around the world in order to kindle the player's own imagination. If they bother to get George R.R. Martin involved, they will have him write a detailed story filled with the usual nonsense. I can't believe that GoT fags now even ruin my video games.
Good. The multiplayer experience will be better since shitty people won't buy it
>implying DS and BB don't already have a horror setting
I can't wait for the poison swamp level.
H.R Giger
Tanimira didn't make DS2. He was tasked to salvage it from another director -- which he did.
He also made the DS2 DLC, co-directed The Old Hunters and the The Ringed City DLC in DS3, he's literally based
Y'know what's cool about rings?
They're ROUND.
A good stealth game at least has a couple of disguises you can use. Sekiro had none. On top of that, you could jump around like a spider monkey and most of the enemies still didn't notice you.
still mad they changed wolnir and yhorm around
Why? they do this all the time
That man can’t make shit since his death, Junji is the better choice
Here goes another couple years of only playing Bloodborne
Dark Souls 3 has horror elements, not horror setting. DaS1 and 2 have nothing to do with horror
I love Junji Ito but he's VERY hit or miss (mostly miss) a Giger inspired world would be superior
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
thief
Touché!
If we're allowed to use dead people, then I counter your Giger with my Beksinski!
I'm with you my nigga
The light mechanic was only cut due to the PS3 being unable to render it properly.
The game was designed around it, hence the shitty textures (because noone was intended to see it). When it got cut, they didn't even bother fixing said textures.
God I fucking loathed bloodborne. Such a shallow and cliché concept of a game. This Celtic one sounds half decent though if it’s fully open world like Skyrim
Why did DS3 feel so empty and soulless?
The only time I enjoyed it was TRC, three yeara after release
>Zombies, Skeletons, Ghosts, Demons and monsters everywhere
So what's the problem with replacing those generic creatures with creative designs by Ito (or Giger, or Beksinski)?
>cliche
>barely any games like it to date
huh
>he thinks he has ownership over games franchises that aren’t even out
This kind of stuff would be good only if it was restricted to few, preferably late-game areas. Entire game looking like this would be nauseating
>fully open world like Skyrim
it was pretty clear that FROM were over the series by then
It's the most polished and finished of the Souls games but they didn't want to work on it anymore
>Such a shallow and cliché concept of a game.
As opposed to dragon and armor shit everybody and their sister has seen ten thousand fucking times?
Theres over 100+ novels, board games, movies and short stories based around Lovecraftian themes
It's extremely clichéd.
Muh werewolves muh vampires. Didn’t realise you liked twilight
True. Or instead of making areas that are filled to the brim with this stuff, you could make a normal world that is partly "infested" with the outlandish stuff.
>muh vampires
Wrong game buddy
And only a handful of video games, most of which are low production value indie-tier.
Why couldn't it be Kazuhiro Hamatani again?
what is this meme that sotfs somehow fixed ds2. It’s literally the same shit but with extra mobs
I dont understand why i keep seeing this
tanimura directed the datk souls 3 dlcs witch were leaps and bounds ahrad of the base game
Because he should commit Soduko for his involvement in Suckiro.
Sekiro is the second best Souls game after Demon's though.
>achkshually
Is anybody actually expecting to see more than perhaps the tiniest of teasers (basically just the reveal of the game's name and that is indeed developed by From)?
They cannot have any gameplay ready to show by now, can they?
He just did TRC
aoa was all miyazaki
Diference was night and day
Any non medieval fantasy RPG is garbage
Nope, Bloodborne is.
nice meme
Too bad it's not an argument
They've been working on it for a while.
GRRM came on for consultation, he wasnt a main influencer or decision maker
Okay, should Hamatani commit sudoku over his involvement with Bloodborne then?
You can’t actually infuse or change Scaling on split damage weapons in BB, best you can do is add 15 flat fire damage, so it makes a firey particle effect when you hit stuff, but you arnt actually doing any fire damage (since 15 will basically get entirely eaten by enemy DEF)
idk both were kind of garbage
Or what about Takato Yamamoto?
I'm just saying Bloodborne has its fair share of bloodsuckers
You can convert the damage of any non split damage weapon to elemental with gems, did you even play the game?
>le sullen girl face
Nah. Kinda hackey
I didn't know that artist, thanks user that's fantastic.
Do you prefer Peter Mohrbacher?
Actually, yes.
Yeah that's better. Very Beksinski inspired but achieved in a modern digital style.
>He just did TRC
>aoa was all miyazaki
>Diference was night and day
Proof?
Uh b-bros??
Is this true? Great news. Martins sjw bullshit is made by a terrible hack. So I can rest easy and skip this turd.
Bruce Pennington could also be cool, no?
He helped shitting out the ringed city dlc. Also known as one floor - one staircase and a swamp - the dlc.
Post all of the ones you have.
Ringed City DLC is the best part of Dark Souls 3.
>any author who has female characters in positions of power is an SJW
go back to r/thedonald
He's alright. More of a metal album art creator though from the looks of it.
>any author who has female characters in positions of power is an SJW
This but unironically.
Too many folders. And I'm making these collages on the fly for the thread. But it's cool that you enjoy them.
Ringed City was absolutely kino, get rekt
True. But imagine how much better this could look if consoles weren't holding us back. Sigh.
Which was better, DS1 Anor Londo, DS2 Drangleic, or DS3 Ringed City?
More like
This webm makes me want a FromSoft game where you play a monk/martial artist who just fucks dudes up, but the combat is like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
yet another KINO multiplayer experience coming up
The old hunters
Emil Melmoth also makes some creepy stuff.
That makes sense, honestly. Tanimura was garbo with most of DS2’s lore, stories, and characters. This allows Miyazaki to focus on his good shit and Tanimura hopefully to learn some ropes.
Should I bother with ds2 sotfs?
Enjoyed ds2 but that "remake" seemed like a enemy redeployment mod cashgrab.
One hour until E3 coverage starts.
I'm pretty sure Tanimura didn't personally write DS2's lore
Microsoft's conference is in 4 hours though, that's where it will be announced.
he already worked on bloodborne find someone else
>forces you to run through literally every part of it
>small army of Murkmen spawn at your feet, corralling you into the drop
>Angel after the drop forces you into the next building
>short while later, another Angel corrals you into a poison swamp (11/10, need more poison swamps)
>last Angel keeps you running until you get to the boss area
>Ringed City proper, the Judicator Giant summons a small army of Ruin Sentinels to shoot at so you take a very restrictive path
>just after the next bonfire, there are Pygmies that curse you with their very presence, promoting a frantic playstyle
>quadrapedal clerics in the next area punish you for not sprinting at all times
>get out to the streets and there are six (6) fucking Harald Knights patrolling a narrow stairwell
>get past them and down to yet another swamp, you can go left for more Hollow Clerics, or go deeper in for another fucking Judicator Giant
>past them, and it's a mad dash into a building to avoid Midir
>out of the building and it's another mad dash to avoid Midir
>DLC's basically over apart from bosses
"the best part of Dark Souls 3", he says.
git gud
shitter
Dariusz Zawadzki
so this confirms that the game will have balanced gameplay and not be derivative garbage
GOTY CONFIRMED
But I wanna watch the pre-show coverage as well. How about we watch it together in a comfy thread?
Prove me wrong.
this. cringed city was fucking terrible.
Ringed City
Here is your new souls game.
>AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DARK SOULS 2 2.0 INCOMING
wtf I'm hype for elden ring now

>put it into text file
>cut out 90% of it at random
>make the game based on what's left
Wow so hard
>DS2
>most balanced
>also by far the stiffest and easiest
Im hoping they make it balanced but fun this time around
fuck off yui
>Dark Souls 2 director
It might actually be good, neat.
>western setting

play Code Vein instead
Hell fucking yeah nigga.
Based and redpilled.

dont know bro everytime someone mentions DaS2 they say its the hardest, now its the easiest?
>George R.R. Martin
See ya in 15 years
>Soulsshit

lmfao
No invasions No buy
How mad would you be?
>two different enemy layouts
not to mention NG+ actually doing shit
people toot about how DS is replayable but i literally memorized every single enemy position, ambush, room-that-spawns-al
-lot-of-enemies, archers
there's not much challenge for me anymore once i know all about that shit
Still better than Suckiro.
Dark souls 2 had the best gameplay and worst everything else. I'm slightly optimistic.
Laughing at sonybros
>Dark souls 2 had the best gameplay
>DS1 implemented it perfectly
you mean playing through the entire game with one weapon and then at lost izalith remember that durability is a thing because your amor got damaged by the lava
Good. Miyazaki might be incredibly talented but he's been gravitating towards rule of cool in gameplay for the last 3 games, just adding in more and more absurd anime shit. Personally I prefer the more grounded and simpler combat of dark souls 1 and 2 with more options and customization. Miyazaki has been focussing too much on quality over quantity to the point where the meme about bloodborne having no weapons became true with sekiro having only one weapon.
Not that sekiro is a bad game, but it shows what miyazaki's gameplay priorities are now and I've been hoping for a return to the old style for a while now.
Enemy tracking isn't fun, realistic, or good design
Thanks, going to the library to read this shit right now
Is this the start of a new trilogy?
>Elden Ring
>Retirement Rectangle
>Post-menopause Pentagon
more like the only game in which durability matters and it was only a problem for retards that spammed attacks at corpses
then you just have walking slowly to the side to avoid any attack that's not a big horizontal swing.
how do you suggest you fix that?
You just need to realize how little stamina you have, what happens when you run out, and how stiff attacking can end up being. Once you’re over that, you realize how the stiffness of the character reflects in the game world.
I don’t even feel it’s all that “balanced”; you have this weird attempt at a more “”realistic”” combat and then they go ahead and make jumping attacks the best in the series, completely shitting on all their NPCs.
Most of it is linear but the swamp area is quite open, the one with the locusts, one adjudicator and one dragonslayer armor, and the passage to unlock a path back into the main building with notpatches. There's also a bit of verticality leading you to find the mural where notpatches remembers himself
he wants to experiment so i can't fault him, let Tanimura direct the multiplayer series while he comes up with new concepts
enemy tracking should be implemented so it tracks towards the direction you are moving when the attacks starts, so it will hit you if you keep going in the same direction, but if you change your direction (or just stand still) it misses.
>baaaaaaaaaawww why i cant backstab everything
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAGAGAYAYYAAHAHJSOZJZKos
The real hack is Tomohiro Shibuya not Tanimura, btw
Yeah, I wish they'd go back to the slower, more strategic style combat with a heavier emphasis on RPG elements instead of the twitchy dodge roll reaction test design they keep moving towards.
fuck you buddy
Shockwaves and rubble
This
>not parrying
300 replies and no sources. Fuck this place.
t. Tomohiro
have you found a job yet?
why do we have a giant thread on some bullshit OP made up?
>DaS2 to now is making a brand new engine and game rather than scrapping shit last minute like with DaS2
Might be cool. DaS2 has issues but the world wasn't one of them
Because this place is full of retards.
Why did they make a new engine for DS2?
>Shockwaves
It's just virgin shitposting see
This is leaked directly from the bandai website due to security problems
>namco
>guy from dark souls 2
>martin
Talk about major red flags.
this is fantastic news!
I know Elden Ring leaked but there are zero mentions of the name Yui Tanimura in there.
No if he had been standing the guard would have aggro'd. You can see the yellow triangle appear when he turns around
Roll Souls 3 could not be easier.
They give you two rings that make rolls even better ffs.
Martin is a great at worldbuilding tho
Already revealed to be BloodborneBox, Xbone, and PC.
And at descriping underage girls having to shit their bowels out.
Try circle backstabbing a Lothric Knight, or any other enemy that isn't a trash mob like the Settlement Workers or Irithyll Guards.
It was originally going to be completely open world, iirc. Rumour is that it was an internal project that got turned into DaS2 early on for Bamco, meaning things had to be repurposed.
Say what you will about Tanimura, he got handed a fucked up development and turned it into a solid game.
>Roll Souls 3 could not be easier
You could reduce the ‘actions per minute’ to DS2 levels. Neither has less shit than the other.
Epic maymay. It was even funnier the first hundred times.
This, one of the positive things I can say about DS3 is that they tried to curb circle-strafing and backstab fishing.

>Also note that many of his attacks incur shockwaves
>Note that when he lands there is a shockwave effect that will stagger you if you are too close
Is there a better term?
Will they ever use the engine again or is it scrapped?
THERE ARE ZERO SOURCES OF YUI TANIMURA DIRECTING THIS, YOU ARE ALL IDIOTS
>shitty textures
They're objectively higher-resolution than what we had in DS1, there's nothing wrong with the textures themselves its the fact that they're pasted repeatedly on large, flat surfaces.
>Gutted half the RPG systems
>Babby's First Souls
>Best game in the series u guiz XDDD
lolno
Dunno lad. I hear they've developed their own in-house engine for Elden Ring, but no source on that. No UE4 (thank God) or Havok for this one.
