I refuse to believe that Syanna living is the good ending, she's a manipulative sociopath with a really nice butt. Detlaff might have been a massive sperg but Syanna is completely at fault for him being that way. Also, if Syanna dies, Regis gets to stay in Toussaint, and Regis is by far one of the best book characters.

I can agree with this desu. I'll never not be impressed that CDPR didn't just take the easy way out and say "DRINKY WIFE PUNCHER BAD, NO REDEEM WOMEN HITTER" and actually took the time and effort to make him a genuinely sympathetic character.

I liked the progression in witcher 2 better. I am tired of open world everything.

He absolutely deserved what he got. How could you be sympathetic to a guy who was born rich but still decided to be a bandit and rob locals, who then made a pact with the literal devil for immortality, only to regret it and get Geralt to fix it for him?
O'Dimm clearly gets his kicks from "punishing" mortals that he thinks deserve it, and the only two example we have in game are people who did indeed deserve it.

It all stems from his reaction to her actions, but nothing about her character (as we know it) adds up to that.
There is, in fact, no reason to believe this boring, one-dimensional fat fuck. He's unsympathetic and a whiny baby.
And of course, it's another storyline that occurs off-screen and in flashbacks, or in this case monologues about flashbacks.
Can't have character development that happens onscreen, no sir. It's all a mystery that has to be told to us.
Not to even mention the arbitrary butterfly effect choice that ends his subplot.

Add me to the retard squad as well, retard. The Witcher 1 and 2's segemented explorable areas were just better than TW3 simply because of the variety and attention to detail. They did more with less space.

Every village in TW3 is the ramshackle peasant huts copied and pasted and hundred times. It actually felt like a chore because I had missed a village or two and felt like I HAD to go see what was there, only to find some lackluster quest. Open worlds, lots of times, are just full of boring fluff. And I think you know it.

It was definitely less. I mean, you could piss away eighty hours in TW3 just fucking about. The more traditional style TW1/2 did less with less space, but it's not supposed to be about the quantity. They did more quality instances and exploration and world design because of the restrictions.
If you and I look at an open world and think how much fucking work it's going to be to hit those gay question marks, even if you're just hitting them "naturally" in between quest markers, then imagine how much work it must have been to look at a linear space and design memorable gameplay segments to cram into it.
They look the path of greater evil. The one that panders to passive players. Much easier to copy/paste a world as big as this user's mum's ass and "focus" on the abhorrent narrative and shit-for-brains combat than to bother crafting a world that isn't explicitly generic fantasyland.
It is quite hilarious, though. All the corners they cut. The terrible optimization and technical deficiencies. Downgradegate. The massively inflated marketing budget. The regressed menu navigation. The response times. The U.I., the generic skill tree, and everything else under the light of the sun.
All these fucking sacrifices, in the name f what? A quote unquote video game that has an absolute dogshit main story that wastes its cast of loaned characters, and action combat that makes the twenty-man Spiders dev team look like they're teaching a masterclass.
CDPR can go fuck themselves. Their priorities are obvious and their tactics snake-like.

Temerian may be arguable, though as a throwback should really have been in from the start, but fucking Wolven was DLC while somehow Ursine was in the base game, even if it isn't the type of armor Geralt would realistically ever invest in. Not to mention how 95% of armor pieces look like trash, and the DLC sets were all a part of that 5%, as if they were designed by someone else entirely.
