Things are looking way more grim for Playstation than you might realize.
The plan was to continue supporting Playstation hardware until Playstation Now was stable and popular enough to replace dedicated gaming hardware. That still hasn't happened, and now companies like Google are trying to throw their hat into the ring. The PS5 is more like a like a PS4 Pro 2 than anything else. (Sony is going to try and sell PS4 compatibility as being 'backwards compatible')
Sales are going down a cliff, and the first party titles aren't anywhere near as popular as they would like them to be.

It's more than likely the PS5 will be more expensive than the PS4pro so if more people bought a base PS4 last year that means they bought it for cheaper so fewer people will be likely to buy the more expensive console. Remember you're comparing at least 2 possibly 3 different types of PS4(PS4, PS4 slim(or whatever it's called), PS4 pro) compared to 1 type of Switch. You need to look at the seperate numbers instead of the big pretty numbers because the seperate numbers tell you what the spending habits of the consumer are.
