Does anyone even want to play a linear 8 hour long game anymore? This looks like it was designed in the year 2008 but has better graphics, very unimpressive looking game
Does anyone even want to play a linear 8 hour long game anymore...
It's not actually linear, it's a Metroidvania or at least Metroid Prime inspired. There's also multiple planets, it's probably longer than 8 hours.
The demo did a really awful job of showing off the map design.
What, you don't like games from 2008? I play games from friggen 1995 on Super Nintendo emulator. Why does Yea Forums hate old games so much?
>map design
not to mention combat, navigation, voice acting, atmosphere (having the ambient dialogue be a bunch of meme references like LE HIGH GROUND is immersion breaking)
But Yea Forums will suck a AAA games ass all day even though AAA games are terrible these days regardless of how good their graphics are. Why are gamers like this now? I'm getting too old for ya'll nugamers bullshit.
I agree. It should be an always online live service open world game
not what I implied, should have been an RPG instead
>This looks like it was designed in the year 2008
>GTA 4
>Dead Space
>Left 4 Dead
>Mirror's Edge
>Saints Row 2
What's the issue here?
This Bizzaro Yea Forums
You stay at not Bizzaro Yea Forums
I just took a 5 year hiatus from gaming and I return to see the absolute STATE of gaming in 2019. Wtf happened? You guys are terrible these days. All gamers not just Yea Forums.
The Yea Forums guy sounds like a total douche.
>linear 8 hour long game
This is fine if the game allows for player freedom of expression
eg, Halo 2, Halo CE
You'll probably never run out of new ways to play those two games, with glitches, skulls, loadouts, tricks, speedrunning etc
Fallen Order isn't that. Fallen Order is a nu-game. Only one way to play, only one way to beat the game. No glitches that dont instantly kill you, no real control over the action, you cant control everything about the lightsaber, its press x to swing and thats it. Not to mention, yet again, you're in a universe with 1800 alien races but you play as some nasally white teenager for whatever reason. 90% of people wont even finish the game, the people that do will beat it once.
[cont] No one actually cares about the games they play anymore. They're all disposable garbage with no serious fanbase because what they call a "fanbase" doesn't actually give af about the game. It's like everyone is just going through the motions and nobody can be satisfied by anything. Doesn't help that all the games are now soulless uninspired garbage.
I guess you can extrapolate that to say in general NOTHING has a dedicated or serious fanbase anymore.
people are still hyped for TLOU 2 so looks like it.
>Doesn't help that all the games are now soulless uninspired garbage.
Yeah I wonder why you think no one is satisfied. But honestly, this is some poor attempt at bait, I'm kinda stupid for even responding. Get therapy man, it's not healthy to be that angry
I do but not this game, it look generic and boring as fuck, maybe EA are making it that way to say "No one wants single player games"
you understand bizzaro speak well, you very smart
The real test is if it's any better than The Force Unleashed 2 or even 1, i doubt it
But because TFU 1 & 2 is so old, I doubt anyone will remember it to make the comparison or is old enough to do so
You need to do more than have better graphics, sounds and a non-shit console port UI and controls; anyone can do that
Because it's the first singeplayer '''''rpg''''' star wars game since TFU2 iirc and not Kinect wagglan or Battlefront which had no content; it will get a pass by many for simply not being as shit as what they're used to
"Open world" gaming is a fucking meme. I prefer a game that makes sense from start to finish.
I do.
The real question is: would I pay €60 for it?
>[cont]
Did you confuse Yea Forums with twitter again, grandpa?
>90% of people wont even finish the game, the people that do will beat it once.
Honestly you describe every game. I begin to think gamers don't even play anymore.
>This looks like it was designed in the year 2008
>year of top shelf and innovative games that were not aimed at brain dead losers that needed their cinematic experiences
GOOD
Honestly, I’m pretty surprised if it isn’t better than TFU, it’s not exactly a very high bar to pass and at least they have a good dev team working on it. I just tried to replay TFU1 and it was the most boring shit I had tried in a while, gameplay feels janky when compared to actually good action games, level design is boring as fuck, it just doesn’t flow in a way that would make it satisfying to play.
Should have been like 'The Surge,' taking place inside a death star.
What map design? It was just a fucking corridor.
>paying for games
>linear
Oh, you want more open world trash?
2 was even worse, I could doze off to that one
>linear>open world
Deal with it, zoomer.
>I just tried to replay TFU1 and it was the most boring shit I had tried in a while
It certainly didn't age well and the ports suck ass, TFU2 also suffers many of the same issues from age (story, linearity can cripple it for some)
You'd think it's an easier 'standard' to beat but from the trailer and reception of TFU at the time of their releases, I doubt it'd get beat or be remember any better than TFU
It's been like this since the PS2 era. Average people play for entertainment, when they are satisfied they stop playing. Imagine never seeing the ending to any of the games you've played, it's very strange honestly, but people want to hop on the next hype train instead of finishing the game they've bought.
