30 yo boomer here who's only ever played multiplayer games. Trying to catch up on what I missed from sp. Here's what I've completed so far >rdr1 >KH1 >Mario+rabbids >Mario±luigi superstar saga
What should I play next? Only rule is have to start from first game in series
other than that just play the Yea Forums classics like Fallout New Vegas Half Life (and blue shift, opposing force, half life 2 and the episodes) Vampire: The masquerade - bloodlines Diablo 1/2 KoTOR 1 & 2
you won't like all of them but you should like some of them and it'll help you narrow down what you like
Carter Price
Metal Gear Solid, the first two are the best.
Kayden Gray
I'm not that picky. I guess I never liked racing games much, open to any interesting experience though. Mp I played fps, rts, mmo, fighting mainly
James Evans
Did you enjoy KH1? If you did and have access to a ds or 3ds, you should try out The World Ends With You. Switch version isn't as good.
Henry Fisher
Ty user. Seems like a good mix of stuff here I heard hl1/2 is best sp ever looking forward to it
My play through was 35 hours. There was a lull when I had to grind that was a bit annoying and the respawn rate seemed to high. I enjoyed it though. I have access to most games 3ds,vita, ps3, wiiu. All hacked
Oliver Rodriguez
Dark souls
Alexander Garcia
Dont play anything on a playstation, it'll turn you into a fat smelly feminist
Thanks for the heads up, a bit to old for console wars at this point
Oh cool, I'll give it a look as I always found it an interesting idea. This makes it much more accessible
Nathaniel Campbell
>What's the appeal of this game? For me it's the lore that is integrated into the gameplay, bonfires being checkpoints, hollows= people who gave up on the game etc. it's also more methodical, you have to think before you act in any situation.
Liam Lopez
>I heard hl1/2 is best sp ever it's not but it's too much of a classic to skip
>I thought df was just asscii text is this just random fan art? there's some tilesets and you should probably use a simple one since it makes everything a lot more clear
Jaxon Smith
Have you ever played a Zelda game?
Brayden James
>It looks really ugly. What's the appeal of this game? it doesn't hold your hand and that's rare in games nowadays it tells you what you need to do and just drops you in the world and lets you do it. You'll find hardships and it's up to you to either find a way around it, find items that help you with it, find a new way to approach it or return later when you're stronger
If you do want to play the souls series technically Demon Souls is the first in the series, but is PS exclusive. If you play the series, don't look up anything, play all of them blind for the full playthrough the only exception is if someone uses hacks to fuck over your character or whatever by giving it levels, but I doubt many people still play the earlier titles online nowadays to do that
also you kind of look like a shitposter by saying Dark Souls looks ugly but mention nothing about things like Half Life, Deus Ex or Dwarf Fortress
Jace Russell
>Boxxy will never come back >Boxxy will never not be a sellout >Boxxy will never not be pushing 30 Why even live?
Ayden Moore
Thanks, this does make it tempting to try out. This sub is always on about bloodborne though is that a better starting point to this genre?
Never. No bully but I was prob gonna play that remake of the first one that nin is working on
2D zeldas, best starting point is likely LttP or aLBW 3D zeldas, best starting point is OoT
Isaac Robinson
The new remake isn’t of the first game it’s of the fourth which was for game boy, you should start by playing link to the past on the snes.
William Edwards
>This sub is always on about bloodborne though is that a better starting point to this genre?
>this sub user
bloodborne gets the "PlayStation Exclusive" bonus on Yea Forums so console fanboys shill it endlessly, because there's no other games they can shill
Nolan Hill
If you only have a PS3, you can't play Bloodborne anyway.
The first Zelda game is not Link's Awakening, it's The Legend of Zelda
Kayden Brooks
I was gonna wait for reviews. But maybe some quality of life improvements will make it more enjoyable, the other is hella old
Whoops you got me user
Isaiah Allen
nigga you're hella old
what's seen as QoL nowadays is often just removing, changing or adding features to make the game easier. There's very few remakes that are good and even less that are better than the original
Grayson Price
LttP and OoT hold up really well. With OoT, the only real change made by the 3DS remakes are better graphics, but it's been a while since I played it.
Gabriel Diaz
I was planning to get a pro or ps5 though at least for rdr2 and spiderman
Good points, I guess my reasoning was i played the remaster of KH1 and it looked quite nice.
Jack Ramirez
>is bb a better starting point to this genre? bb is more of a fast paced responsive action game, it's more linear with less equipment and the places all look the same so it doesn't really feel like a journey imo, more like a combat hell. while they share elements they are not really the same
Hunter Gomez
Silent Hill 1 & 2 Symphony of the Night Clock Tower (the original SNES one) Persona 3 (fuck your "first game" rule) Final Fantasy Tactics (the PSP one) Mother 3
Grayson Nguyen
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen Shadow of the Colossus
Carter Jones
>30 yo boomer here Cut that shit out, you fucking idiot. You're old enough to fucking know better.
Cooper Anderson
>Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen pretty lackluster T B H
Cameron Carter
Enemy variety is kinda wack but the overall adventure feel was pretty comfy. The closest thing to a proper Berserk game we'll ever get.
Henry Howard
Au contrair, he's 30 and still on Yea Forums. At this point, he may as well join in with the underaged shitposters.
Xavier Clark

Metal Gear Solid is a great series to get into
Silent Hill is also a strong recommendation if you want to spice it up with a horror series. First 3-4 games are the good ones.
Angel Torres
I'm asking for game suggestions not life tips
Thanks for this. I'm ashamed to say to tried Mario 64ds on 3ds and 64 on wiiu. I couldn't deal with the movement/camera respectively. Will try starting from sunshine
Anthony Butler
Super Metroid and then Symphony of the Night, in order to introduce you to Metroidvanias.
Easton Collins
>I couldn't deal with the movement/camera respectively. You should play Mario 64, bad camera and all, because it teaches you how to platform at odd angles. When you get good at that, then suddenly most of the games you thought had bad cameras aren't so bad. Since you will adapt easily.
Movement in Mario 64 is still some of the best to this day. You just need to get good.
Luke Ward
>Metroid Prime 2 Echoes >Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Only the first one is worth playing if you value your time.
