15 hours, dudes. What are your hopes and dreams? Your fears and nightmares?
My main fear is they double down on the always online/streaming DRM. This was clearly supposed to be the case for both consoles last gen and Sony went back, which is why this generation was so utterly bereft of decent games as developers/publishers had to mostly shelve or adapt what they were working on, which was online experiences.
MS might win a shitton of brownie points and exclusives with devs if they allow them to shill/force always online DRM on consumers through their platform, and would result in Sony being ostracized and excluded by a lot of devs.
They need to call it the Xbox 5 though so it's not numerically inferior to the Basedny console. They did this with Windows 8 to 10 so can easily see them pulling the same thing here.
Or they might just call it the Xbox or some shit, Xbox 2020.
Zachary Roberts
Just gonna be called “Xbox” Looking forward to all things halo on PC. Hoping they have something to say about Bleeding Edge that makes it more interesting than the leaked trailer
Josiah Walker
I just want banjo threeie
Evan Wood
Fable IV, my dudes? Pretty sure this is all confirmed fake but... something along these lines would be neat. Shouldn't be an asteroid that wiped everything out though, should have been the same plague/corruption from III, like the Black Death in Europe but more catastrophic.
It will be their farewell address. They're the new Sega.
The Marketplace will become a cross-platform store and chat system. Nintendo and Sony cross-promotion will be phased in over the next few years.
They'll bill it as advancing their digital footprint. They'll talk about their omni-presence across platforms.
It's over. It's down to Sony and Nintendo now.
Angel Thompson
>What are your hopes and dreams? Perfect Dark sequel. Also PD XBLA on PC. >Your fears and nightmares? The new Perfect Dark is a fast paced action game instead of a thinking man's shooter focused on problem solving. Also I'm terrified they'll get rid of all the fun stuff like Elvis.
Andrew Gray
Why does Perfect Dark have such a cult fanbase still? What was so good about the original?
Cameron Perez
big blue tiddies
Landon Gomez
Just don't fuck the new console before it gets released again, ok?
I'm no xbro but I hope they get some games Some real bangers so that people will buy the damn console Become actual competition for sony again so that they can cease their bullshit
Nicholas Cox
Should I try Banner Saga? It's free on Gamepass
Cooper Reyes
They are putting all their games on steam
Thomas Green
and thats gonna be fucking great. cant wait to play Halo on PC.
Elijah Flores
Meh, the majority of Playstation owners are unironically FIFA players, I doubt it will change
Mason Morgan
I never tried the Fable franchise, is it worth checking out?
10000000% yes. Play the remastered 1 and then Fable 2. Skip Fable III, it killed their studio, the IP and Molyneux
Jonathan Reyes
Any xbros wanna buy me capcom.beat em up bundle? Its on sale for 11.99
Jose Gray
I'm hoping for something, anything that makes me want to use my Xbone X again. The only game I've bought for it is Ace Combat 7.
I could even go for a Fable 4 at this point, even if I'd play it on the PC.
Jonathan Ward
Literally half of the PS4 fanbase is formed by people who were Xbox owners on last gen and abandoned the brand after that shit Xbox One reveal.
Juan James
I just went retro and to PC when Xbox One turned out shit
Matthew Gonzalez
lmao who even had to scrap a project to work on an online game?
Julian Richardson
People shitting on no guns but I’m still into it
Xavier Hughes
>What was so good about the original? Kino soundtrack. Kino level design. Kino co-op implementation. Kino visual design. Kino weapon design. Kino weapon reload animations. youtube.com/watch?v=whjfd7pqaTo
Games like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark don't really exist in the modern market. Thief had a kinda-sorta successor in Dishonored, but Perfect Dark has nothing. Deus Ex has shared lineage with Perfect Dark, but it's not the same.
No, play original Fable: TLC on Steam/PC. Then play Fable II on backwards compatibility. That's literally all you need, III is absolute trash.
Liam White
I hope Gamepass on PC is actually close to what Xbox has. I hope next gen is soon amd powerful as fuck so devs can target it. I hope for some cool new IP from the acquisitions and maybe Fable IV.
Easton Campbell
Yeah but that isn’t invulnerable. PS didn’t hold so much of the sports market last gen. Good Xbox games would make it more likely for that to be the case again next gen.
Chase Edwards
PD Zero is riddled with problems. Ugly as fuck art style, fucked stealth and non-lethal options, and it's generally a miserable slog of the game without a single drop of the charm and breezy style that the original had.
Gavin Mitchell
They didn’t age very well. Maybe check out 1 if you get it for pennies but 2 and 3 are going to be rough as fuck.
Logan Foster
Na, Bleeding Edge was trademarked by Ninja Theory over a year ago.
Adam Wright
It's gonna have it's own set of games, which is actually really good if you also have the Xbox. 2 catalogues for one subscription
Eli Bailey
how long will it be?
Caleb Martin
KERCHOOOOOOOOM.
You made the sound with your mouth. I know you did.
Agent: SAVE THE NEGOTIATOR. Special Agent: SAVE THE NEGOTIATOR. Perfect Agent: YOU ARE THE NEGOTIATOR. Also, the negotiator was Player 2 in co-op mode.
Jaxon Reed
You are retarded. Fable Anniversary (the remastered version of Fable TLC) is much better and updated and Fable II was never released on PC
Xavier Jones
>Fable Anniversary (the remastered version of Fable TLC) is much better and updated
No it's not, it's literally a fucking awful remaster with textures literally papered over the old game. Also shit like the hair, scarring and tattoos are ruined by the new engine and bugged.
In what way is it updated? The game is literally identical to Fable: TLC just with new textures wallpapered over it. They broke the hair physics in the remaster and it doesn't move as you do, it also looks terrible as do the beards.
They could have done shit like added cut quests and content from the original or fixed bugs, but they didn't even do that.
Hudson Peterson
I don't even really care about Microsoft's consoles, but they put all their stuff on PC anyway and they always snatch up a few cool third party reveals like DMC5. My hopes are actually pretty high so long as they don't linger on the discless console for too long and don't have a car on stage this year
I want Xcloud INCLUDED with XBL so that I can just not buy an xbox and play all the games on my phone. (NOW THAT APPLE IS ADDING NATIVE CONTROLLER SUPPORT HMMM )
I figure that subbing to game pass ultimate will include xcloud streaming
Ethan Edwards
I just want Phil to come out and say that now every 360 game is now backwards compatible
and maybe Ninja Gaiden 4
Nicholas Stewart
And original Xbox games, PLEASE. I want to play the original Fable: TLC with a controller again.
Joseph Carter
ready to destroy xniggers in cross-play games.
Nathaniel Moore
Lel, you wish wh*t0id
Easton Walker
I just want to see them taking more risks and more new IPs, Microsoft's take is different from Sony and Nintendo's take, and Phil is at least trying to breed creativity to an extent so I can respect that. BC for all or a majority of 360 and Xbox games would be great even though that requires a lot of effort, but at the same time wouldn't that work help for their future systems as well since it's the same structure?
Luke Morales
Fair point.
Matthew Butler
>What are your hopes and dreams? Brand new IP's - it seems like the gamepass thing is so they can throw as many ideas onto the wall and see which one sticks without loosing that much money on development costs since it's getting paid for by the gamepass Would also like to see sequels to Brute Force, MechAssault, Fable and Blinx
Your fears and nightmares? Always online shit, sports, car unrevealing and Halo: Infinite still having advanced mobility bullshit
Owen Martin
>I just want to see them taking more risks and more new IPs I don't understand the obsession console gamers seem to have with "muh new IPs". By contrast, PC gamers are far more interested in seeing long-dead IPs from the 90s and 2000s returning. Nobody wants Valve to make "new IPs". They want Valve to make moar Half-Life, moar Team Fortress, etc.
Joshua Ward
DMC5 DLC since they still have marketing rights iirc
Austin Adams
>new console teased at least >cyberpunk >more EA's jedi game gameplay >gears >halo trailer >GAME PASS UP THE ASS at least half of the conference will be about game pass >at least 5 new games from all those studios they bought, some might be indieshit >forza >maybe M$ VR >maybe some surprise multiplat reveals
>I don't want anything new just keep rebooting You are a sheep
Gavin Reyes
READY DOESN'T EVEN DESCRIBE IT!
Cooper Campbell
He has a point though. There are tons of IP's with ton of potential that are just sitting in the closet for no reason. I will never understand why Activision/EA/Ubisoft don't make more use of their IP's, instead opting for newer shittier ones.
Jackson Butler
There's nothing wrong with sequels but fresh ideas and concepts are always good. I do agree companies need to go into their backlogs more though and not just to remaster/remake something.
Matthew Lopez
They said only 3 New IPs with Bleeding Edge being one of them. We Happy Few is still too new to have a new game from Compulsion, Playgrounds is doing Fable, Initiative is probably a year off from a tease, and inxile and Obisidian are on Wasteland 3 and Outer Worlds.
Isaiah Perry
As long as they don’t make a Cod knock off or fuck up like they did with Perfect Dark zero. After sea of THIEVES I don’t trust those assholes.
Landon Sanders
Are they going to reveal the 14 games?
Jack Sanders
>Hopes Halo infinite Elden Ring >Fears
Nathan Perez
My finger is on the trigger to get an Xbox One X but I'm just gonna hold it there until I see what they've cooked up
Spend that money on new PC parts, whatever is "exclusive" is on PC and likely Steam in the future
Jonathan James
>My finger is on the trigger to get an Xbox One X
Why the fuck would you bother when the new consoles are just a few months away? It will be literally worthless as soon as they're announced, I'm actually trading my Xbox One X and PS4 in in a few days for around £300 cash.
They have no games anyway, all just BC on XOX I play and I have those games on Steam while I wait for Xbox 2020.
Zachary Perry
>Why the fuck would you bother when the new consoles are just a few months away? No point when we now have a precedence for "Enhanced" consoles. Better off just waiting for those and the games that come with it than jump on the train early.
Oliver Flores
>They said only 3 New IPs with Bleeding Edge being one of them. Remember that it was "at least" 3 new IPs. Also MS were kinda lying about there only being 14 first party games at E3. They have more.
Tyler Smith
Yeah, that's a fair point. I'm sick of waiting a year to get a console though. I want to be an early adopter this time as 2020 is shaping up to be a potentially amazing year for new games.
This generation has been so utterly shit, I've truly hated it and all games for console have been utter garbage, the only one I genuinely thought was great and eyebrow raising was Dying Light, but this was still far from perfect.
We'll wait and see what the specs are and planned launch/early titles before I decided whether I'm going to be an early adopted this generation.
Joshua Howard
>Months away You mean a year away?
Levi Campbell
Yeah, sure, but what's actually going to come out in the next year to tempt me to buy a console, lol?
Noah Torres
Nothing? MS doesn't care if you buy a Xbox or not, if they did they wouldn't be pushing so hard on the PC
Julian Smith
>they have more In development, not ready to show and especially not for the Xbox One hardware. The Initiative was barely formed, and they are unlikely to be like Kojima and get a CGI trailer before the engine also while being fired from your current project.
Jace Howard
No, they have more than 14 first party games they're showing on stage. Major Nelson mentioned on a recent podcast that they undercounted to curb speculation.
Mason Sanchez
WE'RE WINNING IT THIS YEAR FOR SURE BROS
Evan Hughes
There are a number of Xbox projects that are MIA. Stuff like Perfect Dark, for example, is believed to be in development but nobody knows who is making it. It isn't Rare. And none of MS's internal studios fit the bill. So it's probably a third party developer who pitched and had their pitch accepted. People tend to forget MS have contracts with third party developers.
Xavier Allen
90 minutes of xCloud and Bleeding Edge, bros. We did it.
