have sex

AAA video games have been movies for a while now

Watching a video game is like watching a movie

They're not, at least in my circles.

Wouldn't literature be listening to an audiobook instead of reading it yourself?

No, watching a video game is like watching someone else watch a movie.

Reading a movie script is like reading a book

>Implying something like Detroit: Become Human is not best experienced as a YouTube play-through and not something you should waste your money on instead of buying an actual movie
>Implying that nearly anything cranked out by Sony in recent years would lend any different experience if you actually played it instead of watched it being played

For the book it should be "I didn't read it, I got someone to read it loud for me"

Detroit: Become Human is more of a walking simulator/VN than anything else.

Even if it's tremendously subtle, there is still objective differences in making an input that reacts on a screen over watching something just happen on a screen out of your own control.

Even something as simple as a visual novel like Dangan Ronpa, pressing a button that shoots the evidence bullet into a contradiction that leads to the screen shattering as it's the correct answer is completely different from just a bullet coming out of nowhere to hit words on the screen.

>arguing from a position of ignorance
In that case, let some Mom who plays Facebook games decide what games are worth playing.

>Söyboys defending their movie “games”
Like clockwork.

It's no use OP. the medium is full of brainlets who just want to fanboy their favorite games and shit on anything else, so they'll defend this so they don't have to actually play games.

He jacked off to porn which is basically the same thing.

If you get a different form of stimulation between the two actions then they're not the same.

You mean an audiobook?

Because niggers nig nog nigs.

Audiobooks are intended to be consumed like this while watching playthroughs for video games are more like experiencing it with someone else while that other person has control over it
But yeah, basically ops analogy is shit

Fuck off.

What are some opinions that instantly let you know that the person in question hasn't actually played the game(s) themselves? Recently I've been thinking about the common opinion "Super Castlevania IV is the easiest classicvania" and the general downplaying of the game's quality as an immediate sign that the person in question hasn't played the games thoroughly if at all.

>defending
I was insulting it by calling it a walking simulator, tard.

My name is wild bill nigger slayer.

wtf these aren't wojaks

YES YOU ARE!!!!!!!!

dilate

Both are filtered and reported

>announcing reports

Based and underrated reply

I have had way too much sex

Because games are movies now.

No you fuck off, dumb brainlet.

Because honestly most games nowadays are movies. Anybody can hold forward and shoot or swing a sword in games and there's hardly any difference other than what numbers show up on screen, so watching is close enough to playing that it hardly matters most of the time.

no, watching someone else watch someone play a video game is like watching someone else watch a movie

and OPs pic is retarded because hearing from someone else what a book is about is not like reading the script of movie, its like hearing from someone else how the movie plays. let it be known if you try to make an argument and you can't avoid sounding like a fucking retard, all you have to do is make a quick shitty MS paint comic and people will eat it up

fuck

Audiobooks aren't flawless (fuck you, you're not paying attention to the book when you're also driving and washing the dishes) but I'd argue they're better than Let's Plays.

That's the whole point though. Why would I listen to someone's opinion on whether or not a game is worth getting if he just watched it on youtube? A huge part of games is the gameplay, and you need to have played it to be able to discuss it.

There was all the memeing about Octopath Traveler having bad dialogue because some YouTube fag said it did.

People complaining about combat in Breath of the Wild based on AI abuse webms.

There was also a lot of obvious shitposting from people who hadn't actually played Sekiro.
