In my game you would play as an Inquisitor during the middle ages. Your job would he to separate the legit heretics from the ones who were denounced for political reasons.
You would have to interrogate people without using the barbaric methods commonly used back then, because that's what the Catholic Church asked its inquisitors to do.
You also would have to deal with local (((money lenders))) who wanted you to do shady shit for them.
Then the game would show several heresies of the time, and the political commentary would be how many of these were basically suicide cults, that today are seen as normal by our decadent society.
