Granblue Fantasy Versus is a fighting game based on the characters and world from the mobile game, which is sort of a lite JRPG for battles and a VN for story elements. It's basically RNG gachashit and for a while was one of if not the worst for it, however the art is beautiful. Personally I like that your player character is actually a fighter too that switches classes, unlike games like FGO where you're just an observer/commander

It's kind of funny how Granblue used to be one of the worst gachas out there (fucking laws were made in part because of it) and now it's considered incredibly generous due to how feasible it is to save for a spark and the sometimes ridiculous amount of free rolls they give out.
I find it hard to call the free rolls that ridiculous when it costs $25 for 10 draws and you generally don't even get an SSR out of it. Frankly having this many free ones should be the baseline for all games.

They do not seem to have any interest in dubbing it and the Shadowverse voice acting is some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard in my life. Some of them are super niche and are clearly designed around using specific team setups to make the most of them, like Nier and Maria, and excell in those scenarios but underperform elsewhere. Some are just flat out weird, like Katzelia's absolute tankness. And everything else is actually pretty fantastic, like Haaselia's constant buffs/debuffs, Lobelia and Alanaan's fucking everything, like no seriously both of them are disgustingly busted and Geis's constant stream of damage.
Even the strongest ones need a little intelligence applied to their use, though. Most of them definitely aren't the standard fare of "plug them into your damage team and let them rip" like most.

Don't forget to play the Geass event in a few days for some free characters, there's not going to be a free draws campaign for a while still so you'll need all the free stuff you can get. When you get to chapter 8 you'll start unlocking side stories and you can get free characters there too.

GBF is all about grid. There is a lot of power in the SSR weapons given as rewards for side stories and first few islands in main story. After you are done with that, you try to get SSR weapons from the first set of raids (Tiamat,Yggdrasil etc.). At first you fight them only to get MVP and then open raid for others, but with time you will be able to solo them for easy farm. This is enough to carry you to unlocking high level.

Imagine having a name that can easily be referencing something or being turned into a pun. You will hear that "joke" your entire life from thousands of different people. They always think they're being original.
Just remember to log in every day even if you don't play that day. The sheer number of free elixirs this game gives you really adds up and eventually makes it so that the AP system basically does not exist. You can get some in the casino too.

One thing you can do early on is joining Magna (Omega) raids, just hitting the boss once is enough. You might get an an SSR weapon or summon eventually. Unlike the bullshit Magna 2 raids where you need to deal at least like 20-40 million damage to get a chance at something good, the starting Magna raids mean you just need to do 1 damage and you might get something good.
