Literally every spec is completely playable in every aspect of the game, except for raiding. In raiding, you’re a class, not a spec. There’s really no fix for this: large group raids are designed in such a way that only certain aspects are encouraged, which not every spec can have.

I tanked and healed group dungeons as a holy/prot hybrid up to 60. It's fine for content where being crit isn't an instant wipe.

Removing the debuff cap would make the already easy bosses even more boring. It'd also introduce a ton more dumb interactions that'd make classic raiding even more unfun, like needing some poor fucker to equip a shitty axe and be a Nightfall proc bot who exists purely to auto attack the boss and buff the caster dps.

Classic isn't vanilla, it already has engine and graphics updates.
There's no harm in having the updated player models if they're optional. The real reason they aren't doing it is because updating the player models means updating all the old items and stuff to match.
