Because I'm not the best fighting game player and have no aspirations to be.

fightstick is only good if you want to be pro. but even then, there are big pro players around with pads. Punk is the best SFV player in the US, and he used a pad for 90% of his career. Sonic Fox uses pad on some games, and a small handful of JP players use stick on anime fighters.
Bottom line? Using stick won't matter if you get bodied by a better player on pad.

Im not a pro and i disagree. Fight stick just makes the games more enjoyable to play. The control scheme for sf is built around it....

But to be fair i also think tekken feels better on pad so varies on game and preference

fightsticks give you the arcade feeling while your playing and they are more comfortable than pads, you don't have to be pro to have one.

Get a Hitbox. It does everything stick can do but better.

Stick is a relic from arcade days because there was no better control scheme at that time. If you didn't grow up playing in arcades, you should be getting a Hitbox.

They were already considered sort of scummy in 3D games, but Daigo using a Gafrobox and showing off how to abuse it made Capcom pay attention and ban non-regulation hitboxes.

But why. If you don't want analogue input you can just use a keyboard. If you're worried about fat fingering keys you can spread the inputs around or just go on a diet until your fingers aren't bigger than the keys.
