Why would Square remake this instead of something better like Parasite Eve?

Square doesn't need "the xeno brand" to have rights to Xenogears. It owns the property of the game. Xenosaga isn't even technically the same thing. They'd never be able to say so in court.

Xenoblade is just the developer cashing in on the Xeno name. Originally it was going to be the "Monado" series but Xeno was more recognisable.

The Xenoblade games have been able to garner a good amount of praise and attention from jrpg audiences.

I'm not seriously holding out for a remake though, however as I've outlined above the incentive is starting to get there.

I know that, what I mean is that we all know that Square have no interest on remaking Gears, ever, but even if they are not related, Nintendo can get profits of anything with the Xeno name on it, cause it will promote both Monolith and their new IP of Xenoblade, just because we know Gears, Saga and Blade are not related doens't mean the everyday consumer knows that, or that they can't promote each other.

In thoery, Namco and Sony could offer Square the same deal, to self promote theselves, but Namco doens't seem in the labor to work with Square, and I don't see Sony that interested in the IP. That's why, in the unlikely scenario this happen, I can only see Nintendo being the one interested in make Square bring back the Gears IP, and on Switch, just to give the image that Nintendo is the official home of "Xeno" now, and promote more Blade games in the future.

That's literally what it is, they made Xenosaga as a spiritual successor so that they could fully leave behind XG and create a new and more expansive universe. XS was ful of references to XG as "self-parodies" as they explained it.

A spiritual successor is not (always) set in the same universe if that's what you have been thinking all along, Xenosaga is one of those examples.

I guess you never read Xenogears Perfect Works which explains that it was suppose to be part of a 6 story long saga (it was the 5th part) and the 1st part although mentioned briefly basically explained the story of Xenosaga years before the game even existed.

I've played through it on my PSP vita and PS3, at least twice each, with no issue, from the actual bought psn version. There's a bug on the psn copy of p3FES where it just loldeletes your save data but that existed on the actual disc too.

I rather the remake, even before 3rd Birthday, the plot of 2 was already convoluted and terrible on it's own, and is a marketing fact that a numeric sequel of a long dead franchise may scare some new consumers, which may buy the first game to get to date... but then they will also look up the sequels and lost hope in the product.

As I said, I rather a proper remake of the original, and any podsible sequel working from there, reckoning or remaking the plot of two into something decent.

No, xenogears was complete (just shit quality because of disc 2). xenogears was supposed to be a story of the first few chapters of the timeline of chapter 5. XenoSAGA was supposed to be 6 games, to go over the entire events of the gnosis era, leading into xenogears, which would have been chapters 3 and 4. It got culled and they basically shat out a bit of chapter 3 with an exposition dump not unlike xenogears, to set it up for chapter 4 which never showed up, so there's a gap.

Basically they all take place in one timeline. Presumably xenoblade is free of this, but I haven't played them, I don't like the combat much so I can't say for certain.

chances are the new fans will get interested over the new entry of an older franchise. This is why remakes are terrible have nothing to stand on.

I am not following much of what's going on here, but even though Blades are supposed to be free of all of this, beyond a cameo from Kosmos in two, I have been informed that 2, contrary to my original believe, is connected to the first game somehow, and the only way that's possible as far as I know (I am close to finish 2, I have to go back to one someday) is if a crazy godly rebuild of the entire universe take place... so if they want to cram Saga and Gears (and X, as far as I know) into the continuity somehow, they may be able to.

Aside from the Deus fight which does have a game crashing bug, I remember the game worked fine when I played it on psp

I have. They literally fit together perfectly. Transcend Christ era leads directly into EST, unfortunately we never got to see the tail end of episodes/chapters 3 and 4 which would have shown deus proper and given direct linkage to xenogears.

I mean, Square lets Taro run free no problem on his games, and they even got finally a success out of Automata, if anything the only problem would be Sony if this ends being an exclusivity.

Though, I guess we will have to wait a see how they handle certain parts of the FF7 remake before being sure. In retrospective, some on them truly don't work in todays standards, and they wouldn't be a huge loss anyway (The introduction of Red XIII and the intend of his experiment with Aerith comes to mind... they will HAVE to change that), but others have to remain, even if they will have to figure out a way to work them out.
