Not him but it has that spirit that old comics had. It's not like modern capeshit that has to have a degree of edge and grimdark and relatability. Spider Man 2000 is a short, fun, and quippy adventure with good gameplay and level design. No open world trying to cram as many gimmicks in as possible to cover all the "latest cutting-edge technology". Straight and to-the-point levels and straight and -to-the-point game design. It has the best Spiderman, an even better Venom, good ost, and harkened to when Neversoft was a thing and Activision actually gave a shit about making a good game. I don't like to use "soul" as a description but the humor, the game itself, and getting voice talent on board like Jennifer Hale, Dee Bradley Norris, and Daran Norris just for a liscened game that was made to test the engine for the following Tony Hawk game shows that a lot of love and care were put into its making. When I look at this game I see an early 2000s game industry that is filled with devs that treat games as passion projects and not as another form of media cash-cow. Maybe I've got nostalgia goggles on when I see it and if it is well in this case I'm okay with that.

Incredibly nostalgic. Probably my first real super hero game if you don't count Superman 64, which I don't. My favorite feature was What If Mode, and Venom's humor, with him being the dumb jock that teams up with you at the end. Lots of fun hero and boss moments. The ending chase sequence had my heart racing as a kid.

The first game that really nailed web-swinging, and potentially the only movie game that didn't just awkwardly abridge the film it was based on, but expanded upon it, with more fun boss encounters and Black Cat antics. It's aged, balloons and sinking boats were annoying, but I could still just web swing around for hours.

Best combat, best swinging, lots of polished content, a charming adaption of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man as a character. All in all, it has the elements of the best Spider-Man game ever, but I do think it's bogged down by some unnecessary gimmicks and overtly drawn out fight sequences. Also not a fan of things getting cut out for the sake of DLC and pre-order super bonuses. Still looking forward to the sequel.

Yes, Shattered dimensions is unfortunetly underdeveloped in it's playstyles and edge of time has it's flaws i still recommend them, Shattered even has a PC port you can pirate since it's been removed from stores

If I remember correctly, this along with the fall fogs and sewer waters are the only things that can't protect you while in invulnerable/ADMNTIUM mode.

Speaking of Scorpion, I was actually pleased and disappointed to find Ghost Rider's cameo in that building run level prior to Scorpion's boss fight. Disappointed because he didn't have a model in model view.

Pretty meh. The superhero games were better for the DS. If you're going for that handheld, I'd suggest finding Shattered Dimensions, Web of Shadows, Battle for New York, and Ultimate Spider-Man. They're all decent side scrollers, with the first two haveing Metroidvania gameplay. Special mention to the movie DS games as well/

I always liked Enter Electro more. Maybe because I played it first (as a kid I thought you fought Venom early on in the second level and Venom scared the SHIT out of me), but EE had more to it. More suits, more types of webbing, the danger room, etc. Just felt like a bigger version of the first game that improved on it. Don't see how that's a bad thing.

The one for Gameboy. I never beat that shit, but it was fun for the first few levels. Man, I suck at games.

Fuck, I forgot about this one. The combat is is kind of better than SD, and kind of not, but the story was amazing. The opening, the twist, all of it. It definitely is underrated. Plus it put in two of my favorite suits. Pic related and Spider-Assassin.

Just wish there was more to do in the game, but it has a surprising amount of replay value with its level select.

My only complaint about Enter Electro was that the villain roster was a bit less fun. And that they opened the game up with a dramatic LAST TIME ON SPIDERMAN intro and then proceeded to not have the two game's stories connect at all.

I think they even remodeled Symbiote Doctor Octopus and only used it for a two second intro flashback clip.

PS4, because, it has good swinging (SM2 has better pendulum physics, but this one has good mechanics that make up for it) and better combat than SM2, it's not a contest in that regard (hate that in SM2 everyone blocks your punches and dodges your web at the end of the game, forcing you to use the web impact all the time, that's not how you do a fun combat system).

What is the best combat in a Spidey game? I heard good stuff of one of the PS3/X360 Activision games, Shattered Dimension i think.

spider-man shattered dimensions had fun parts but i feel like it felt more adventurey, normally youd expect a game like x-men legends to have you travellling to all the random places.

web of shadows had potential but the glitches made certain parts unplayable for me and my brother.

It’s a part of Silver Lining, the 3rd DLC. It also has Punished Spider-Man, and Aaron Aikman the Kamen Spider.

Jessica would’ve been fine, but Ultimate Pete was just such a good kid that it feels wrong to kill him off. Especially when Norman comes back anyways, and kills Jameson.

Why do a lot of posters do this? They hate everything and enjoy nothing. Are they like this in their real lives too? Are they just trying to impress everyone? Who honestly gives a shit about the opinions of other anons?

I like most Spiderman games, I didn't like the edge of time because they bring back the voice of the 60s spider. I liked that touch in shattered dimensions. This is just a nitpick though.

Say what you will about the man and what he did, sure he didn't truly create the characters by himself, maybe he was a shitty man behind the scenes, and maybe his fame is unwanted, but you can never, ever say that he didn't have passion for what he did. The man absolutely loved the medium and I'm happy that he got see his characters truly become larger than life.

The PS1 game made Venom my favorite character for anything Marvel related and ev en though his movie is so-so Im hyped to see him in the PS4/5 sequel
