It has no utility unlike SCH and AST and instead of 2 dots + Stone you have 1 dot + Glare. It's fine unless you are speedrunning though, you gain a free heal every 30s which, if you do use it every 30s, will give you a 900 potency attack at 90s. WHM will be king of MP management like before and has a lot more firepower now than it had before.
Basically, just white mages whining about having no utility even though SCH and AST utility got nerfed.

Those are the new skills on WHM. The 900 potency spell is at worst dps-neutral if you don't need to gcd heal, but if you do, it's pretty good. If you have downtime (which is when the boss is gone for a while) it'll only help your dps too.
Assize got gutted sadly but on the plus side you can hold it more for aoe healing and mp.

RDM is 90% alternating between two button presses, it isn't fun.

SCH works by using their cooldowns effectively.
Whereas WHM and AST just brainlessly throw out regens, SCH cycles through their resources.

First of all, consider the Fairy a resource. The less it moves the more it'll heal. It has its own individual cooldowns, the most helpful being Whispering Dawn. Use that to heal the party instead of using a Succor or an Indom.
Whispering Dawn can also be used to just slow down the rate at which the Tank's health will drop to 0. Alternate between using WD and Rouse for the most effective use of your fairy's passive healing.

Aetherflow is your next resource to think about. As of right now you'll only have access to Lustrate and Sacred Soil. Sacred Soil isn't that fantastic (but it will become amazing in ShB), so you'll want to use Aetherflow on keeping the tank alive with Lustrate.

Adloquium is your version of Cure II. It does less healing, but if it ever crits then its shield strength doubles. Your goal is to get the most use out of your Adloquiums by using Largesse and Fey Illumination.

So in order to effectively heal as a level 50 SCH:
>Keep your fairy alternating between Rouse and Whispering Dawn, alternating between one and the other every 30 seconds.
>Spend your Aetherflow on Lustrates over Energy Drain so that you can focus on throwing out some DPS instead of using cooldowns to heal. Use Lucid Dreaming at 75% mana pool if you're expecting that you'll still be fighting within the next 30 seconds.
>Largesse + Fey Illumination for when you're finally reduced to using your GCDs to keep the tank alive, being sustained now only by what MP you have or until Aetherflow returns.

Doing this, you'll keep the tank on a constant drip of passive and active healing.
Eventually you'll get access to more tools and resources like Excogitation, Fey Union, and Dissipation which give you more raw healing potential.

Rava are closer to proper Viera while Veena were memed in. Even Feol or a feol-looking tribe would make more sense.
To be fair that goes for several Rava too. Veena seem to be the go-to lizard emo tranny clan while miqo'te go for both (and use their shitty cat markings among other)

Which doesn't detract from still being able to move the pet around as you please and the general playstyle of SCH (and for the most part SMN since you only wanted your pet on Obey to avoid wasting Contagion) not changing at all, it's streamlining. The only change for the pet jobs is now their skills are on your hotbar instead of their own hotbar.

BLM is great fun because you're basically playing a different game from everyone else, its efficiency revolves around plopping yourself down for long stretches of time so it's a job for "the experienced" and will function much better if you already know the fight. Long cast times lend to riding the wire and trying to get out that one last Fire IV before you're forced to teleport to a party-member to perform mechanics, then teleport straight back to your Ley Lines. Absolute definition of a selfish DPS, the things on your hotbars that aren't attacks are dedicated to keeping YOU and solely YOU alive and the only way you can interact with any other party-member is by Mana Shifting some of your infinite MP over to them, or using Apocatastasis.

It's genuinely a job where your skill will have tremendous effects on the rest of the run, you're usually either top of the pack or last in the running.

It's kind of embarrassing how many more memorable characters HW had. Existing characters like Haurchefaunt or Alphinaud got their moments to shine, a job quest NPC suddenly shows up to be one of the most important and best boys in the entire expac. We had Ysayle, Lord Fortemps, Aymeric, Krile, Matoya. Even the smaller NPCs like the leader dude in Tailfeather were interesting. There were also more villains and they were more interesting, Bishop, Knights of the Round, Regula, Ilberd, Nidhogg. Idyllshire also had more interesting characters than RR.

While every job in every instance is focused around performing a specific dance routine in line with the encounter's mechanics, a core part of a BLM's job is to keep doing exactly what you are doing, with minimal interference. You are either ignoring mechanics entirely or looking for alternative ways to solve them. In that same vein, experienced groups will not only not expect you to participate in many group-focused mechanics, but they will plan entirely around having you NOT involved in any manner. Stack mechanic? Better plan for a minus one and pop a healing cooldown. Targeted aoes? BLM's position is off limits AND you better shield them to absorb their damage.

With proper foreplanning, and party support, a BLM outputs just as much dps as any of the three support jobs do with all their raid buffs, before adding on any raid buffs like balance or BL.

Double/triple/quad weaving on NIN is completely different to double weaving on other jobs. Theres zero animation lock on the abilities you're weaving (mudras) so you can freely spam them as fast as possible (although there is a 0.5 CD on mudras)

Because it's designed like a well-oiled machine. You only need two hotbars to assign all the necessary skills to play it at a high level. Every skill feeds into the next. And it is the ONLY class without downtime. There is absolutely no moment where you're sitting there jerking off waiting for your cooldowns like NIN or SMN. The only argument could be Umbral Ice phase, but even that's less of a "60s downtime until next burst phase" and more of a "let's get some mana back in an instant, refresh my DoT, set up some stacks that reduce my mana costs, and toss out a strong AoE spell" phase. And even though it's technically like 13 seconds, it feels more like 5 seconds before you're back to the fun Fire IV spam again.

I'm still tempted by the bunny outfits, though I didn't realise before that the chest pieces are 100k/120k MGP. That's a fair bit to get.

This means for a 3mudra ability, you need to cast Mudra 1, Mudra 2, Mudra 3, Ninjitsu in between one 2s (remembing that NIN have a shorter GCD) GCD

Probably the most complex of the three R-DPS (that's not saying much) as you have to manage your buff song, your dots and react to procs. You have some utility but most of it was taken to give to DNC. The more annoying things we had to upkeep/deal with (like all our procs being based on dot crits are now just a chance on damage tick) have been replaced with resources to build in exchange for (hopefully) big dick damage. Also we can actually AoE for longer than 6 seconds now. Probably. You can also play music outside of combat and annoying with it.

It's literally not at all likely anything will change before release other than potency values. In fact I guarantee you that literally nothing will be changed besides potencies before release.

I remember it starting to get really big with Gordias largely thanks to Faust.

Tanks are really hard to kill 1v1 because huge HP and reduced damage. You wouldn't want that many in like frontlines because damage is really low and cc only carries so much. Healers are super hard to kill as well unless they run out of mp.

tfw doing it with 50% 1.0 friends, 50% ARR friends and getting to both experience and explain it.

Gordias was the downfall. The liquid dude was the turning point because it was SUCH a tight DPS race the first few weeks, assuming your team could survive. Logging was around before then, it was just at that point that I really noticed people freaking out.
