why am i supposed to hate this game now?
Muh eceleb said to
This fox saved station square.
Say something nice about him.
Sonic Adventure was a decent game, but it feels a bit... "off", especially when compared to SA2.
He's so cute that I regularly eRP as him!
and not as a stuttery submissive!
Oh, I thought it was just called not being into it
> MFW Read it in that damn girls voice

take me back to the late 90s/early 2000s. nothing was more comfy
>SADX
What do you guys think chaos smell like when they hatch from their eggs, haha just for laughs.
Do you think they get embarssed when you watch them evolve haha.
i want to go back
This meme is fucking annoying.
Rock + Trumpets give me the biggest dick
youtube.com
Someone get this hothead out of here haha
Why are chao so perfect, bros?
For me it's Mystic Ruins
youtu.be
is this loss
It’s a shame they never did more with it. Chaos have been the only ”pet” mini-game I ever got invested into.
At least you can play as some Chao in TSR.
good game, fuck all fags who say otherwise
It’s something I guess. Also that picture is so fucking cute. I want to hug a chao.
My nigga
You don't have to hate anything. If you genuinely still like it, good for you. For me, it occupies that weird space where I have tons of fond memories I know would crumble the instant I touched the game again.
The Adventure games were just as good to me when I went back to them.
Heroes is definitely worse, though.
I replayed them recently.
They where honestly just about as good as I remembered them.
Most of the big annoying glitches aren’t really a problem if you still got a good idea of where you should avoid them and such.
THIS MUST BE THE WAY TO THE SKY DECK
I like to imagine that chao always smell like Baby Powder or lotion
TAKE ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to ____ Tikal!
The fishing levels aren't that bad tbqph. I like that they're actually deceptively large. Emerald Coast in particular has a pretty well hidden fishing area that most people probably aren't aware of, considering Froggy is right infront of you as soon as you enter the level
i appreciate that image
There's something about that 1999/2000 moment in time that's magical. The Dreamcast looked amazing almost like it was a decade ahead of time. Don't think I've ever had a feeling for another console.
fuck then marry then fuck again and have 2 kids with
Because it's a buggy, boring and arguably frustrating game that people can only look positively on through rose colored glasses because muh nostalgia
Dreamcast era was peak SOUL
Anyone else that really liked this song?
I feel like I am always the only one that sat around the chao area listening to this song.
Sonic Adventure is literally
LITERALLY
the most soulful game ever conceived.
>station square, a city metro filled with people, is flooded and destroyed by chaos at the end of the game
>none of the main cast acknowledge this even as they're standing in the middle of a disaster
>DX
Get that shit away from me
Good shit my dude. That one is also underapreciated.
XD
I resonated more with Sonic Adventure as a kid because even with the hub world, the goal of the actual levels was still to reach the end of the stage like muh SNES games unlike Mario 64 where I was just dumped into the world with little to no direction.
All chao music in this game is a true JAM
I honestly feel like the music in the chao world is what made it feel unlike some lame, boring petcare tamagotchi simulator (which is what it actually is), it somehow feels like an energetic, cool, replayable minigame
Tails is a terrorist just look at him randomly blowing out these skyscraper windows.
He cute
I'm seeing double here.
Four Tails.
Sonic Adventure: Escape 2 Africa
>m-muh ecelebs bro :OOO
and not the fact that it's fucking garbage?
Imagine having a terrible opinion like this.
What a sad state of life.
I like the Tails levels in Adventure 1 let you go through the Sonic levels and completely break them by being able to fly.
Fuck off, Egoraptor
>that one second of silence before the mystic ruins music played
made it weirdly atmospheric
Adventure 1 and 2 still hold up for me as fantastic games. I don't care what anyone fucking says.
Egoraptor wouldn't know a good game if it had sex with his "wife".
How did you play Tails?
soul
i really don't have the patience to argue with people who like sonic adventure. just know you're wrong and i'm right, ok?
Because uninformed e-celebs played one of the ports which are known to be riddled with bugs instead of spending 5 minutes googling to find out you should play the original Dreamcast version or at least mod the PC one.
>sa1/2 were considered good in a era where gaming was just fine
>sa1/2 are considered bad in a era where gaming is slowly dying and becoming less-consumer friendly
Sorry you didn't get to experience the 90's and the Dreamcast when it was new, it was dope
When I was a kid I thought they just scaled down Angel Island for no reason.
It never hit me that the whole area starting at Ice Cap was Angel Island.
SA had the best gameplay in the series. If they tweaked the controls a bit so spindashing and rolling were separate (so you could roll like Tails and Knuckles do), it would be an almost perfect 3D analogue to the classic games.
Sonic and friends save each other and other animals.
Not some faggot humans.
I know Sonic's gameplay overall is more refined in SA2, but I think I prefer SA1's level design more.
Her story with Chaos and the chao was so cute
I pity you man. I hope you have a game you fondly remember and still like to this day, like us.
As soon as the drums started playing I became a 10 year old boy again
No, you motherfuckers. You can be nostalgic about it as much as you want, but you CANNOT deny that this game is absolute ass. There's so much about the core game design that makes it extremely frustrating and glitchy to play through.
I had plenty of fun playing this game a long time ago, too, but pretending like it's some kind of misunderstood gem of ingenuity is just fucking retarded
Yeah this exact same thing really confused me. I didn't understand that all this was meant to be Angel Island, you never really get a good look at it
I can't tell your first Sonic game was a Boost game.
It's objectively stupid and unbalanced from a gameplay perspective, but being able to spam spindash was fun as fuck. The roll in SA2 was a fucking stupid ass move.
I love how many songs in SA1 start off with those drums.
>Adventure haters are too weak willed to defend their terrible opinions when called out on it
Not surprising in the slightest
>There's so much about the core game design that makes it extremely frustrating and glitchy to play through.
This sentence literally doesn't make any sense, what about the "core game design" is glitchy? Sounds like you're some dumbfuck zoomer who never even played the Dreamcast version which is not that glitchy.
Emerald Coast took me for-fucking-ever to find Froggy. I found that hidden area before him
Hey hey hey!
When Suzie does her makeup and dresses well, she doesn't make too bad of a slampig.
yeah the fishing levels are kind of like the emerald hunting levels (particularly in 2) because if you know what you're doing they can be over extremely quickly, in a few minutes or less even, some of the Big levels can literally be beaten in a few seconds, but if you don't know what you're doing they can feel insanely long and boring
The start up is so bad and you can barely get any air from it. It feels overnerfed in SA2.
>Tails wrecking bosses by hand, including Chaos 4, An E-series, Knuckles and The Egg Walker
>Tails showing off his genius by building a fucking plane that trashed a floating warship, but not having his smarts define his character
>Tails having an arc where he learns to have confidence in his abilities as his own hero
This game was Based
The somersault was such a retarded addition. Who thought a roll that slowed you down was a good addition to a sonic game?
Even the DX version isn´t that glitchy if you go through it normally. You have to actively be searching for game breaking glitches to find the game "unplayable".
Can feel life, movin' through your mind? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>They never met again
This game was such a pleasant fewer dream to play through as a child. The Chaos was one of the first fantasy creatures to give me stomach butterflies. I even watched the anime when it was on tv. Didn't grow up to be a sonic fan though, was close though.
Gamma is in the last cutscene of Amy's story. He's the pink bird. He's also in the Last Story in that form as well.
>You can find the other characters in the Adventure fields where they would be at that point in the story
This game was ahead of its time, even if they just stood there
well I mean she doesn't meet Gamma but she does sort of meet the little bird inside of him at the end of the game
Everything was just the perfect junction of mystery and cheerful adventure. The levels felt real "enough", but with the kind of faux realism that made you dream about that kinda crazy shit.
It's those colorful, sunny textures and songs out of the ordinary that Sega used back then. Making Mystic Ruins such an explorable scary place with an out-of-place tune just made it better.
I loved details like this shit. I loved the stupid pointless NPCs that weren't just static, what they said and where they were would change over the course of the game, there was an entire subplot with the human NPCs about a guy two timing these two women and getting caught, it was based that they bothered making this content that 0.01% of players would ever see.
I like the connections to the past games too. Ice Cap and Red Mountain are just Ice Cap Zone and Lava Reef Zone. I'm pretty sure parts of Windy Valley were inspired by Sky Sanctuary too.
And that's followed up in the next game by him getting tricked by Eggman due to childish gullibility, but he immediately turns it around after his mentor tells him that he needs to finish the job.
youtube.com
Amy never realized that, I doubt the bird did as well. No one knows what Gamma did.
The sega style weird surrealist fantasyscapes were the best.
Without witness, without reward.
Gamma is the true hero in Sonic Adventure.
>childish gullibility
Tails being gullible as fuck is a recurring trait. See the OVA where all that shit with Hyper Metal Sonic is entirely because he trusts Eggman.
ARGH HE'S NOT GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THIS
Who would you guys choose for a SA3 roster?
>Sonic
>Shadow (Sonic levels but harder)
>Tails
>Knuckles
>Omega
>Blaze
>Silver
>Eggman
Fuckers actually did an entire game inspired by the Moebius Arzach dreamscape and got away with it.
I miss this Sega.
Will Sonic Adventure ever get a remake for the ps4?
I’ve always found it uncanny Tails made a functional Chaos Emerald from scratch. He’s fucking 8, not even Eggman could do that.
It’s always great seeing characters using their unique skills in absolutely vital ways to achieve victory
all his music was fucking incredible as well

actual god tier perfection in just three songs right here
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
Then a Chaotix side with Vector, Espio, and Charmy.
SEGA games had a certain aesthetic that is hard to describe, but is really beautiful and comfy and makes you appreciate life more
Ryan Drummond was bretty gud to say he was an amateur at the time.
I fucking love this OST, feels like you´re running through hell with the souls of the damned yelling in your ear.
youtube.com
Eggman already knew about the fake emerald and was only fucking with him. Tails still believed that he got tricked like a retard though so I guess your point still stands.
>End of E102
>When the day breaks, let us go into the fields to sow
>Before the sun burns the land
>When the rain stops, let us go into the fields to sow
>Before the poisoned air burns my throat
Is there an animal inside Omega too? Is there any lore on that?
>Sonic
>Tails
>Knuckles
>Eggman
>Metal Sonic
I dunno who to have for the sixth character. I just want another good/evil split with Metal Sonic involved this time.
Tails isn't really a scientist like Eggman is, but he's canonically a genius level engineer. He made a plan that was able to be powered by an actual Chaos Emerald without exploding.
I'd keep it small but have each choice be distinct from one another
>Sonic
>Knuckles as a combination between SA1 and the Werehog's gameplay
>Tails, with levels that focus on flying. He could perhaps control somewhat like a helicopter
>Silver, with almost OP psychokinesis moves.
>Omega with 3rd person shooter gameplay.
I used to love how experimental Sonic games were.
Sonic will never act this unironically cool again.
youtube.com
Actually it's super easy to understand. You just don't want to.
>Characters are hard to control
>Weird physics engine that disorients players
>Incomprehensible button layouts
>Boring side missions that add nothing to the game except to pad it's runtime
>Bland story that tries way too hard to be interesting
>Awkward vehicle mechanics
>Unreliable pathing during rail segments that can launch you into the fucking abyss
>TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE boss fights
>3 chapters of the same shit with weird character designs that force you to completely reevaluate your understanding of the game
It's. Bad. If you think ANY of that shit is bearable to consider this game "good", then you're just as delusional as the game designers that shovelled this shit out the door before it was finished. So fuck you.
Depends.
The E100 Mass produced bots in SA2 had animals, but SA2 was one of the last games where Eggman used animals to power his bots. The Chaos Gammas in Sonic Battle, for example, don't have animals as far as I'm aware.
I suppose it would depend on if Omega was made after Eggman stopped using animals or before.
>It's my pleasure
>Ready to die
No he's run by some kind of fusion battery or some shit, I can't remember. Tails trying to fix him in Forces is proof, and I know it's not technically canon but in Sonic 06 at one point they make Omega wait in the same spot for like two hundred years because of time travel fuckery or something. If there was an animal inside him it definitely would have died.
Get mad.
I really forgot how much I liked this scene. It's a bit rough seeing it again, but it's still really god damn cool.
>Characters are hard to control
One bullet point in and you're already wrong, little zoom zoom.
>be a dumbass kid playing through SA for the first time
>try going unga bunga on beta mk2 like all the other bosses
>he bitch slaps my projectiles
>realize he's an actual threat while his theme kicks in
It's such a shame he's actually piss easy, sucking ass at video games had its perks sometimes
You're describing Sonic 06, not Sonic Adventure.
Sonic, Shadow and Blaze all come under the same gameplay style to me. I think if they're going to include characters like that they should do something similar to the Hero/Dark story again.
SA2 was pure kino and only literal actual plebs will deny this
That's 06 you're talking about, you fucking idiot.
This is an Adventure thread.
Remember the Sonic OVA? Where to beat Eggman and Metal Sonic they needed Sonic to fight Hand to Hand, Tails to hack him and come up with a plan to divert the lava and Knuckles to do the heavy-lifting for Tails?
That was always my favourite part of the adventure games. Noone was gratuitous, everyone was equally neccesary snd no character could have done the other’s job for them.
...is there a reason you're talking about Sonic '06 instead of SA1?
I remember ON A SUNDAY RIDING MY BIKE
Sega games aesthetic:
>if a game has a city level, model it after a Southern California city in the summer
What the actual fuck are you on about retard.
i honestly think the sonic stages in SA1 are better than 2. They are a bit more over-the-top and fun
Oh man an Adventure 1 thread. I tried to play the Steam version via BetterSADX a few days ago but my controller wasn't supported. Damn shame, love replaying it.
The OVA was probably the best piece of non-game sonic media we're ever going to get
Did anyone else like the shadow the hedgehog game
it's better than heroes, at least
>He's the pink bird
The robots aren't the animals inside
>"Okay, so since it was Halloween themed, I guess those ghosts are only in this lev-"
>They're in the next two stages
i genuinely like it
Split it into two different gamestyles
Speed gameplay with Sonic, Shadow and Blaze
Action gameplay with Kunckles, Silver and Amy
You know I thought I did but after replaying it I sure as fuck don't now.
I NOTICE I NOTICE DIFFERENT THINGS THAT LOOK ALIKE
It's something of a guilty pleasure for me, even if the "kill/collect everything" stages tend to be really annoying.
The internet levels were cool at least.
It had a lot of good ideas, just needed a better engine.
It had it’s moments but I thought it was a bit repetative compared to adventure 1-2
Other way around for me
Gamma describes destroying the other E-Series robots and freeing their animals as rescuing them, so I think it's implied his encounter with Amy brought out the birds personality in him.
Kinda. The branching paths are cool. Always love when games do that.
I like how they're in two acts, I think it's a shame they ditched that in 2, even if some of these acts were so short they barely mattered, like the second act of Speed Highway, which is a damn shame because god damn, I shouldn't have to drag things out to avoid beating the level in 10 seconds just so I can listen to this great song.
youtube.com
Guilty pleasure. Fuck Lost Impact with a rusty piece of sheet metal though
Honestly I loved the game; emulated it and played through the entire thing with my lil sis, now she loves it to
I did a quick playthrough recently.
Someone said you can actually unlock a katana for Shadow but you have to follow a certain path to unlock it.
I hated the objectives in certain levels but the actual gameplay I enjoyed enough.
What sucked is I unlocked the katana but could never find it any of the boxes.
I was gonna do another playthrough down a different path but no katana discouraged me.
When Gamma’s damaged after his fight with Beta he suddenly has memories about his former life with his bird family and chooses to let himself die so they can be together again.
Darker than you might expect for Sonic.
At least Knuckles' stage takes place entirely in Act 2.
felt so good to just play that level the neutral way the second time through
easy A rank
>6th birthday party
>grandma got me the Sonic OVA vhs
>HOLY FUCK I HAVE TO WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW
>"user, it's time for cake."
>No. Right. Now.
>watch the whole thing
>okay, now it's time for cake
>it's all gone
>"Oh sorry user, we thought you got a piece already."
And then I probably cried. I still have the tape today.
>What sucked is I unlocked the katana but could never find it any of the boxes.
It's in the black crates with the shadow symbol on them. Any unlocked weapons appear there. Also, if you do the other ending for that same level, the katana will be able to shoot laser slices
Is anyone who capitalizes certain words ever not baiting?
Yeah but usually you can find the shards so quickly you have the same problem. As far as I remember the only Knuckles stages that can give you a tiny bit of shit are Casinopolis and Sky Deck.
Yeah, you have to finish the GUN Headquarters mission. Just do all the Dark missions and you'll end at that stage.
The music of this game was absolutely sublime. Genuis really. All the cunts who didn't buy the dreamcast can go fuck a spike
I also still have my Sonic OVA tape. As a kid I thought it was dope because the tape was white.
He gets it
Fuck no
It was cool how they brought them back in TSR.
youtube.com
>Gets butthurt that his intricate plan to create Eggmanland via controlling an ancient water demon didn't pan out
>Resorts to nuking the city instead which was the backup plan apparently
Why didn't he just nuke the city to begin with?
the fact King Boom Boo is in a game that came out in 2019 makes me smile
Harder to clean up?
I don’t know what you two babies are talking about. It’s just one fox on a bench.
Seriously. It's a shame none of their newer games have any of this.
Modern SEGA games still retain some degree of soul that I keep coming back to, but it's not the same.
Even in the mid-2000s I felt like their games to a degree still felt like they had the type of style only SEGA offers, like PSU. But then compare PSU to PSO2 and it's night and day.
I loooove Tails so much bros
My Tails daki should be arriving next week
>not providing a source
why user
Anyone else think the OVA was... oddly well made?
It detracts from the games a lot but the art, pacing and characters are uncannily well-constructed, a lot of times the atmosphere is actually beautiful or eerie.
The highest IQ man needs the highest IQ plan
>That godly Sandopolis remix
>King Boom Boo
Nuking the city would just kill everyone, using Chaos probably wouldnt kill as much
Part of being a dictator is having actual people to rule over
I think the Yakuza games keep that kind of aesthetic in its own way.
Supposedly, the heads of the franchise like Naoto Oshimura and Yuji Naka, gave consultation on it. Other than that, it's amazing how different it is to the games, yet still feels authentic.
That happened to me. I think you have to just use a regular Xinput controller like a 360 controller or else it turns that Big Picture shit on, and Steam will refuse to let your controller work because there's no official support.
I agree SA1 is shit but even I think this post retarded
Sega have been doing this shit for decades, long before smash bros been remixing and doing cross overs. Fighters megamix on the saturn began this sort of shit, the Sumo sega racing games have had godlike remixes for years, even the tennis games they did were good.
agreed. this was my time. when i showed all my mates the dreamcast everyone ended up getting one, everyone loved it. it was absolutely shocking when they announced they were stopping it, for like 2 years we were totally hooked on it, non stop classics coming out, something for everyone. There will NEVER be another dreamcast.
Still have mine, too.
The white tape with blue text was fucking CASH.
>*Jumps up and down in his mech excitedly*
>I did it!
Always protect
Sega just really likes the beach, man. A big part of the Sega "look" is the somewhat tropical color palettes they like.
Also, palm trees.
At some point in the late 90s, Sega did basically just totally start throwing SoCal into pretty much anything that needed a city level.
I'd say it's the huge-fuck hills.
I wish the stage design wasn't so absolutely shit. It's so bad. My nephew loved the game, and he'd keep getting me to play through bits he couldn't do (so like, the entire second half of the game).
Cool soundtrack, at least.
>tfw you realize that Mission Streets theme is actually a variant of Station Square or else uses the same instruments as Station Square
>tfw it instantly becomes the best song in the game
youtube.com
This thread has given me wonderful memories and feels. Now i have to face the grim fate of reality again. Now i have to face living with penile cancer. I need to go back to this time. back to this era
>Tails and Eggman can hold those heavy mechas while grabbing things with their bare hands
They are the strongest
>We did it Tails! We saved the city!
Until Sega reveals the Dreamcast 2 and puts Sony out of business.
holy shit
Both SA games are on steam, family
unused station square song, they redid it for the sequel and shoehorned it in anywhere. glad they did though
I mean, in Tails Adventure tails can lift 10 tons while flying. Eggman’s just hench.
Not too surprising for Eggman. He's sometimes classified as a power character and was even almost playable in Sonic the Fighters without his mecha.
Is it really? fuck I just played it by ear and always thought it was just a great remix.
Got proofs?
playing it in this house alone on souless isnt the same, my friend. I want to play it as a kid, at home, with my mother, without the curse of cancer counting down my mortality
>There will NEVER be another dreamcast
What is Xbox? For 399.
Work to get a home. Have a wife and child, then share it with your child.
tfw did this and made me fucking happy. there is still hope, user. just look to the future rather than in the past
this game's soundtrack is actually based
Seriously. I can't describe it either, but it's a feeling i'm constantly nostalgic for, even for games that I didn't play when I was younger.
For example, PSO was a game I only got into around 2011/2012, but the moment I forst played it I went "Yup, this is SEGA." Same with Phantasy Star Universe.
In a sense they do, but I feel like they've been slowly losing some of that aesthetic.
whats that wierd sonic site filled with autists who thought they were leet haxors just because they explorer sonic ISOs and thought they were funny as fuck (they werent)? It was on there. It may have even been taken down? have a search, my man, its around
FUCK
Everyone wishes they could do-over their life, noone gets to. Have whatever fun you can get out of the present instead, that’s all you can do.
cacner will kill either me, or my dream of this, sadly.
100% SOUL
Adopt. You still have time. unlock the gates of your preferences and enjoy life
How the fuck did that nigger build all that and who the fuck lives there besides him and his robots.
Fuck Silver and Shadow. A Sonic Adventure 3 should have the original trinity going super.
Shit bro if I knew I was dying I would do whatever the fuck I wanted. I only suffer because I have a long life ahead of me and need to save money and don't feel any sense of urgency for anything.
Not saying I want cancer, but if I was you, I would make peace with it and sperg the fuck out and chase happiness
>now
what the fuck is that, chernobyl?
All he had to do was build the robots.
He then had a fully automated workforce to build his magnificent lair.
what mod makes the game not shit?
Is there one of these with all the different Eggman incarnations?
In the classic games you can see moving trains and housing buildings in the background of Eggman’s cities, so it’s at least implied that people live there
Be honest with me anons.
Did anyone ever envision this theme as like the opening theme to an early 90's late 80's full-house sitcom show?
youtube.com
what the fuck is this shit hhah-
>plays the song
>I am 13 again
>im now in my 30s
yep. Time to die.
It's Dr. Robotnik's Coney Island Disco Palace.
There's various ones for various things, from fixing bugs to restoring elements of the Dreamcast version to just little bonuses.
Most of those can be found here:
dreamcastify.unreliable.network
never liked it, is a piece of crap.
SA2 is the REAL sonic 3D kino, ironic since all is downhill from there.
>have the internet in 2000
>download the mp3 of this song from the OST
>the mp3 has EXTRA FUCKING BITS of music that isn't in the game
>have the song on my mp3 player or burn to cd or whatever the fuck i did at the time
>autistcally listen to it repeatedly in bed every night before sleeping on repeat
>will always be one of my favourite songs of all time
listening to this song... close your eyes.. its summer 1999....... and all the troubles are gone.
>tfw my gamecube stopped working 5 years ago and i cant play this
>tfw the save file corrupted but i love the game so much i'd be willing to do it all over again
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Eggman’s cities made sense when there were only animals, cause he’d just turn them into robots.
Now he wants to take over the world it makes a lot more sense given the fact other humans exist
There's still time for you, user
die instantly
Tails Adventure remake. Yes or no?
this looks like way too much effort for such a janky game
There's still time for you, too, user
wait what
explain please
How about a sequel?
yes
I don't blindly believe in things with no proof. What makes YOUR religion the right one?
I thought the same too when I was younger for some reason, but yes the entire area containing Ice Cap and Red Mountain is meant to be Angel Island.
It's more clearer in the FMVs of the island falling to the ground.
Can you fags take this to a board that gives a fuck.
Everything from the area where Ice Cap is and onwards is Angel Island.
this desu
fuck off my comfy thread
YOU GUYS CAN'T TALK ABOUT SONIC ADVENTURE UNLESS IT'S NEGATIVE
CLASSIC PRAISE ONLY
MANIA IS THE ONLY GOOD SONIC GAME RELEASED SINCE THE 90S
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHG
Did you not pay attention at all to the game
Jesus is the only historically-verifiable God, and the only one who paid your price that you can't pay. ~100% of historians agree that he was crucified, his worst enemies died to preach Him, and that all 500+ eyewitnesses had the "same hallucination" about seeing Him resurrected (pic related). Take care, and God bless you.
what makes you think he was even born when this game came out mate
Blame the fucking cancer who's trying to evangelize a dying man
holy shit an unironic chick tract poster. I feel blessed.
This game had its issues, but I really liked the exploration aspect of it.
I'm going to blame you too for taking obvious bait and being a dickass over it.
Jesus existed, and he was crucified. But he was a human being, not the son of God, and definitely not God himself.
If you truly believe in zombies, you can take a trip to /x/.
Sonic Cult?
why the fuck did you ask then?
>"Oh no"
Remember to report and ignore off topic posts, user!
I was offering him life out of caring about him, and you got upset about it because you're insecure. That's okay, we all have our faults. Hope to see you later.
It's not bait. It's a genuine retard.
I thought it would be an ez all-in-one package.
So ignore it. It's not vidya related.
it's really not hard at all
Jesus Christ, man. It's not a fucking Saturn or OG Xbox game.
You can play it whenever you want.
I'm the insecure one? Not the person who needs a coping mechanism to feel better about the inevitability of death?
>sonic doing the fortnite dance
Remove this filth from your hard drive, right now
Yeah double clicking a .exe can be a little tricky at first. You get used to it though.
John 14:23, 8:58, Rev. 1:8 are a few places that He claimed to be God. All historians agree that over 500 contemporary eyewitnesses believed he was resurrected. It's up to you if you want to believe the evidence or reject it out of fear or pride.
You wouldn't have continually rageposted if you weren't.
>proof is the fucking bible
fucks sake
>All historians agree that over 500 contemporary eyewitnesses believed he was resurrected.
chew you havisfaction a singlicious satisfact to snack that up
Sega’s always trying new formats to make a sonic game out of. Fighting, racing, you get it.
You guys got any ideas? I was thinking like an open-world GTA, where you can use vharacters abilities to navigate. So like Adventure but there are also missions and stuff
The gospels are not to be treated as historical fact, and no serious historian uses them as evidence, and Revelation is just fiction. Sure, it's a pageturner, but it's a work of fiction.
Bros. Can we actually expect a SA1 remake reveal this E3/year? I want my Adventure kino to return.
so cute
Get the platforming right again before thinking of new materials to package it in.
I doubt it. I don't have any hope for a faithful remake anyway.
they would nerf the spindash and put kill zones in windy valley so why bother
:3
I don't think we'll get any mainline game info this year.
However, we do know that the there will be footage of the new Mario & Sonic Olympics at E3, and Evening Star is there for something, possibly Mania 2.
Already posted the pic Not only are you at odds with 99.9% of historians if you reject the Bible as evidence of the belief that Jesus was resurrected, but you're ignoring the extrabiblical evidence of Tacitus, Pliny, etc (see pic)
I played it when i was a kid and never revisited it because it would probably ruin the magic
When isn’t he?
That's objectively false. See
>fool tails into revealing the fake emerald
cool fucking meme retard
Ok, so you believe the Gospels, which tried to shift the blame from Pontius Pilate as much as they could, despite contradictory reports from actual historians of the era such as Philo of Alexandria mean anything?
Do you really believe in zombies? Because you're trying to defend that belief.
>The Sonic fanbase isn't full of aut-
He needed to trick them into revealing that it was the fake emerald, because it would fuck up his plan if he actually shot the real emerald into space just because he assumed it was fake.
youtu.be
>shits pants
They had literally no fucking reason to hand him the real emerald.
>tfw prefer SA2 in every capacity
it's called their "blue sky initiative" because they wanted all their games to feel like interactive outdoor sports. This could have been figured out with one google search.
One thing I never see brought up is how dialogue and characters change for each character's story, giving it a Rashomon style.
Here is the most clear example of it, where Eggman has a more genuinely threatening tone when you play as Tails, unlike Sonic's story where he just sounds like a pompous buffoon.
i do in most areas. the treasure hunting stages in sa1 felt half assed and i dont mind the mech stages in 2. sa2 has the exact same speed stages as sonic stages in 1 so i dont complain. no big or amy gameplay is a plus. the only thing we lose is the good feeling gamma controls and tails levels. plus chao garden is a great time sink
Honestly, I like it. But I can also clearly see its flaws, and why other people hate it. It's so stupidly eady that I ironically like it but also has some pretty good ideas and level design that they never bothered to implement in future Sonic games that make me unironcally like it as well.
You think Eggman’s ever thought of just giving his mechs guns?
Can Sonic characters dodge bullets? Are they Bulletproof? Does Tails the 8-year old talking fox have bulletproof skin?
that was informative
You mean like the E-100 series?
They're fine if they have rings
There's been plenty of Eggman robots that used actual guns.
>You think Eggman’s ever thought of just giving his mechs guns?
No, the big fucking gun strapped to Gamma's arm is for show, retard.
>blue sky initiative
How the fuck was I supposed to know that from googling a term I didn't know existed?
Tails fought Gamma and can tank his missiles, so yes, Tails does have bulletproof skin. Now how to use this information...
There are robots with guns
>Not only are you at odds with 99.9% of historians if you reject the Bible as evidence of the belief that Jesus was resurrected
what, I work in a history dept and fucking nobody here takes the bible seriously and they especially do not take bible 2 (the koran) or bible: the phantom menace (the torah) seriously either. The only record of jesus is him being listed as an executed criminal by the palestinian government itself, but it has no mention of it's resurrection (especially when they'd likely try killing him again as they had to do with other botched executions)
Both Eggman and GUN robots have used guns in the games
Not him, but it's still more than reasonable to believe at least the parts shared in common between all three if nothing else.
>bible: the phantom menace (the torah)
>using quotes
So it's not actually the blue sky initiative and it's just a reference to a 3-year-old Medium article? user, get outta here.
At this point I really want to see how Sega would handle a Sonic origins game.
Why are there something like 11 talking, multicoloured, anthropormorphic superhuman animals living on an otherwise normal human planet. How did it all start?
yeah that jews all hate each other, can't agree on a king, and got their shit kicked in when they tried having a war with egypt despite being nomadic shepherds. This isn't much to go on especially when contemporary egyptian, roman, persian, and indian sources are far more accurate especially when it comes to administrative errata that is usually verifiable by means other than surviving writings.
The bible's a special case, there are believable elements reinforced by other external accounts but believing them means you have to believe things that are very uncomfortable, so most people just dismiss it entirely. Doubting that e.g. Homer or Virgil were real people is a fringe opinion at best, despite the fact that we have less evidence for their historicity than a preacher named Yeshua from Nazareth.
Did you know that the datamining piece of shit known as Google changes the search results depending on what it thinks aligns more with your interests, and can generate more ad revenue?
I thought that was interesting.

see their genesis games, they were the ones working with sega to develop branding and an overall feel of the brand much like nintendo is also famous for
Best sub-level IMO
youtu.be
I wish this was used more often. It's such a chill song and the mix in Generations was fantastic.
Surely you know very well to pay attention to details in statements, then:
>as evidence of the belief that Jesus was resurrected
Bart Ehrman, Gerd Lüdemann, and Paula Friedriksen are just a few of the mainstream secular historians who have stated that it is historical fact that eyewitnesses believed that Jesus was resurrected.
>stated that it is historical fact that eyewitnesses believed that Jesus was resurrected.
yes it's a fact that they believed it, just not fact that a human could be brought back from the dead. The only way this is remotely plausible is if the execution was botched, but even then the roman government would just do it again until they succeeded as was their policy
>not playing sonic adventure blast
realize that this is what a sonic adventure remake should be, and there is no need to wait for SEGA's steaming pile of boostshit mutilation that may or may never come.
>it's called their "blue sky initiative" because they wanted all their games to feel like interactive outdoor sports
You pulled this out of your fucking ass.
There's literally no information about that on the Google pic you posted. The Medium article is a faggot going on about his shitty nostalgia, and the Giant Bomb link is just people talking about how nice DC games looked.
>see their genesis games, they were the ones working with sega to develop branding and an overall feel of the brand much like nintendo is also famous for
Again, [citation needed].¨
that looks kinda shitty
More games these days need pianos, trumpets, and saxophones

I'm sorry, did you say you wanted more orchestral music and EDM?

>My brother also raised a chao
>He was much better at it than me, but he only used the stat cores, no animals
>His Chao got a special coloring and in the fighting minigame had the happy fighting stance
I was so jealous of my brother.
you have shit taste
whole lotta nothing going on there
Is that first map taken from fzero?
Yes, its Fire Field Undulation in reverse
These are boring levels.
It looks pretty damn rough
I'm open to new things, but isn't selling it very well
This one isn't too impressive either
My older sister actually put the time in to get a Chaos Chao.
>He never tried to play Gothic 2 on a modern PC
niggers can't into momentum.
you need constant screen blur/shake effects while you press boost and the game turns into a movie?
Why do eCelebs like to make fun of Sonic so much?
It just doesn't look that interesting. You still haven't made a compelling case for why it's so great aside from theses clips which aren't looking like anything that special
ya
what about this one frens
No. I need level design. You just posted a webm of a straight path of unmoving platforms with benign enemies.
it's effortless to mock sonic for its gameplay or story.
>completely empty
Might as well walk around random maps in gmod
Because Sonic is a phenomenon in how much pure, unadulterated cringe it inspires and noone fully inderstand why
>mountain village
okay that's kinda funny but still none of these import maps look as good as utopia's demo
here you go, it has many sa1/2 levels
I replayed it recently. It's just okay. It's not complete shit like Youtube celebs say it is. Also the soundtrack is kino.
Maybe the physics engine is fun to play with, but without getting my hands on it, it looks kinda dull and very rough.
It killed the series, zoomie.
JELLEEEEEE HOOOI
So I might as well just play sonic adventure.
This song is unironically how I remember summer.
youtube.com
the thing is, this game's physics engine is insanely well polished. feels better to control than utopia. you'd only understand if you played it. Most people don't download it because they're turned off by the graphics, which is dumb desu. the dev made a hidden masterpiece that's being slided by utopia/bumper shills backed by huge patreon bux from shabbos goyim.
i can tell you with 100% certainty, if you get your hands dirty with this engine, you will see it's an improvement on adventure. that's really hard to pull off
But there are no fucking levels
>physicshit
no thanks
they are all taken from other games, yes. but that only shows how versatile the engine is, given by how well it works in basically any map you throw at it.
back to boostshit with you
>they are all taken from other games, yes.
So that's it. End of conversation.
Mate it could be the best feeling game ever made and if there's no substance to the levels it doesn't matter. I don't know how Utopia will turn out but at least the dev is promising actual levels. This just looks like every other Sonic fangame that works fine in terms of physics but has zero content to actually use the mechanics with.
>feeling gloomy
>listen to this
>Feeling better
>back to boostshit with you
Boostshit sucks too m8, i'm an adventurefag
given by how bad the engines are in boostshit games, I thought this would be obvious to most of you, but I guess it's not.
Let me let you in on a little secret: levels can be made by anyone. there's infinite creativity, all you need to do is find the right designer and make him team up with an engine developer.
There is a very small minority of programmers that can make an engine that rivals that of the sonic adventure games from scratch, let alone improve it. This game has just that, all it has left to do is original levels, which is not so hard to get shabbos goyims to build. the game is open source anyways.
>an adventurefag
So you like the automated scripted-ness of boost, but hate the hands-on manual approach of physics driven games?
so you're like a centrist?
Remember played this when I was like 4 on the dreamcast. Only thing I remember is the UYEEEEAAAAA HUUUUU DUNNNNN Mystic ruins hub music from it, and the emerald coast killer whales. Fun game.
I then played it on ps3 years later and it was such a slog to get through. I must have had a lot of patience as a kid. You'd have to be a soulless fag to hate on this game desu.
>p-people are totally going to make levels, who cares if the game doesn't have any!
And if they don't?
I like responsive controls.
Boostshit is awful because it's overly linear, scripted, and doing anything but moving straight ahead is a chore and feels awful
I dislike the classic games because rather then being able to intuittively control the character with responsive controls, I need to work around the physics system.,
Give me a level editor as polished and idiot-proof as Mario Maker and I'll give you levels.
ok then go make some levels for a game and then shill your techdemo autist
Jesus christ this is shit and no different from any other 3D sonic fan engine.
Stop shilling your retarded-ass fan creation, autismo.
except it had a sequel that was immensely popular retard. 2Dfags killed the series actually
What is this from?
and I don't mean the comic
see, creative people like exist. it's just that the dev of the game is not hungry to shill the game harder/provide ways for people to create content levels for it. making a level editor would be pretty difficult I imagine
>hey play this game
>no there are no levels for it
>people could make them
>but they haven't
>SHUT UP YOU'RE NOT CREATIVE
ok retard
Cope some more Rarefag.
Colors killed the series, oh wait Colors was a glorified 2D spin off after all.
i never called you uncreative. you know for any game out there where there are level editor mods, there are selfless creative people who just make shit public for free.
SPEEPS Highway, she does alot of edits and modding to SA1 and 2
there's no guarantee
I really, really hate what Heroes and onwards did to Tails. He was a cool character in adventure and actually had some development and then went full one-note sidekick again
yup
it would be far more effective to find a good engine programmer and shill the sega hire this man meme so we actually get professionally made levels with a non-pozzed engine.
>no one will make a level for this
Did you all missed everything related to the PC port of Generations?
SOON OON OON OON OON OON OON OON OON OON
agreed.
yeah that's a perfect example, tons of pajeets made custom levels for it. sucks it's a boostshit game
Why not just mod Sonic Adventure 1
That was an actual published game. This is a literally what from a literally who.
It has a chao garden, which, by itself, immediately elevates this to a good game regardless of every single other aspect, gameplay or otherwise.
Same as Robo Blast 2
I liked the hub and miss it in SA2
It did help streamline the story, but I missed it as well.
home
I only want a knuckles-only fangame since he has the most potential for versatile movement in 3D (maybe add in Sonic as easy mode with no story), is anyone working on this or I'm gonna have to make it myself
>It's a "you can skip a tone of the level because of the physics" episode.
the hub worlds really weren't interesting to go around though. station square is super flat, mystic ruins is a clusterfuck but still flat, and the mountain has some verticality but there are no options in it.
the hub worlds in sa1 are on par with wario world's hubs. lame.
Holy fuck I laughed harder that I should have.
God, are you that one shitposter from the other week? Even most other Adventurefags agree the adventure games had a degree of physics to them, otherwise you wouldn't see half those crazy webms for it. And no, the classics are not that hard to control either, I don't understand that claim either
This user is from some alternate reality where the third hub was "the mountain" and not the egg carrier
very interesting
I have yet to hear a better ost from any other game. How is this shit so good?
oops I forgot the forest and the mountain are both part of mystic ruin
I had a crush on Tikal and Amy
I still do to be honest
>God, are you that one shitposter from the other week?
I don't think so?
Decent thread, great job anons.
Not him but to be fair, it's not like even after all these years Adventure games have a lot of competition so people that think Mario is too basic don't have a lot of other 3D platformers to choose from, I don't get how playing Sonic 3 is any harder than doing the last few levels of SA2 but I like the unusual gameplay of 2D Sonic, some people don't.
He probably thought so because we had someone talking just like that the other week, how can you say the adventure games don't have physics though? I thought that's why everyone hated 06, there was no weight to anything at all... causing a complete defiance of physics and overly precise controls, even more precise than adventure, which lead to it feeling twitchy. It's exactly why I get confused when I watch Adventurefags get so bitter over something like Utopia, cause isn't it basically how Adventure would play if the technology had been much better back in 1998-2001? Yes it's limited a little but that's because it's working more off classic rules. But it still has all the same things you could do in Adventure, even down to spindashing off inclines to get massive height. I guess if not, there's also Project Hero to go off of. There is nothing wrong with a character like Sonic having weight to him, you just need to bother to actually control it.
I think people get mad at Utopia because they don't realize the guy made that one level too open on purpose because is a tech demo.
People get mad at Utopia because there was a group parading it as the second coming when it's just another fan engine with another tech demo level.
Why does Knuckles have a Rose form?
Hating something because of shitposters is a bit absurd though, and as for the people who were legitimately excited for it, I can't really be mad at them for that... maybe they really did just want sega to acknowledge it so they could maybe at the very least take some notes. It reminds me of the few people I've seen who go on to say they hate Mania or something just because of some shitposters who use it as a way to say Modern Sonic is finished or something like that. It's not a healthy way of thinking.
I think people got carried away with the praise because there wasn't a direct competition at the time, maybe there was but I don't remember one, the other fan engine stuff was more in line with what Sonic Team does.
what
Why does he turn pink?
Guilty pleasure as fuck
Some neat ideas here and there , wish the camera could be adjusted and Shadow had a better lock homing dash attack though
Gets too much hate
Its meme status means sega would never ever try anything close to it, or really anything innovative with this series ever again which really sucks.
Fuck me, why is Adventure-era OST so goddamn amazing? Literally every song is at least good, Knuckles had the whole black rap schtick going on and everything was super thematic. I swear these and Sonic R OSTs are the most overlooked video game soundtracks (as a whole; I know single songs are praised).
>born in 98
>played a bunch of old console games all the time from NES and Master system to n64 and psx
>hearing songs like this make me nostalgic for the 90s even though i didn't play on these old consoles until 2003
Wtf why does 90s shit make me nostalgic for the 90s and not early 2000s when i experienced this shit
Tikal gets my honorable mention
This game is actually charming. I'm not going to let my nostalgia blind me to its faults, but it was a fair attempt to make a 3d sonic game and certain parts of the game, from the Chao garden to the great settings and music, make it a solid title.
Also my parents divorced after my mom cheated on my dad and I played this a lot to escape the yelling so it gets a BASED seal of approval from me.
explain your votes faggots
At the risk of causing a fight, I'd really rather not to be honest, and this goes for every other post related to Shadow praise in the thread, am I the only one who's supposedly been "unaffected" by the possible "Shadow was always a good game" meme? Like seriously, I feel like all the sudden praise out of nowhere I've been seeing for it over the past year just feels... fake and pretend, meanwhile my views have pretty much been the same on it for many years like I 'thought' most of the fandom did too. Was it really because one Sonic fan came out of nowhere and said it was actually good and then everyone followed like Sheep? Like, really... if this game is such an underrated masterpiece, why wasn't I seeing this kind of talk till recent years? This literally feels no different than all the Sonic Heroes praise I was suddenly hearing after Premy called it the GOAT a million times. But what the hell do I know, right? Maybe I just need sleep... Just get back to enjoying the thread I guess.
The recent games are soulless as fuck so shadow looks amazing by comparison.
>trusting modern SEGA to get such a remake right
Oh, you sweet summer child...
Because some epic memer on youtube say so, duh.
>Cash-in made to take advantage of Shadow's popularity
>Glitchy and makes you play through the story multiple times for a bunch of shit endings
>Having even the smallest amount of soul
Shadow is the definition of soulless.
didn't it also kinda shit on SA2's story
Looks normal to me.
i did when i was younger and haven't played it since then. I'd rather keep the good memories i have and not make bad ones
>I feel like all the sudden praise out of nowhere I've been seeing for it over the past year just feels... fake and pretend,
I am completely unaware of what you're talking about
I made that initial post because I just played it this week
sonic adventure 1 was better than super mario 64
You don't have to beat the entire game in one sitting you know
It better be, it came out 2 years later

Sonic Team's soundtracks were just jams in general around that time
At least he still did something in heroes. Everything after Unleashed just has him standing around with his retarded little ipad while Sonic does all the work.
This and aquatic mine are the only good knuckles stage songs.
I never realized that this a just Panic Puppet Zone Act 1 from 3D blast.
I want a full game that makes use of Sonic's wonky as hell SA1 spindash. It feels so fun to use off of random overworld/level geometry.
PSO is literally the greatest and most innovative video game title ever created and the one time i truly felt like i was in the next gen.
Pumpkin Hill, Wild Canyon and Red Mountain would have words with you, user.
I wish they didn't made them multiplatform, imagine how good Heroes would be if they just focused on the gamecube and outsourced the PS2 one to some other team like they did with every HD Sonic game.
>defending being forced into playing the same intro stage AT LEAST 10 times to finish the game.
Now, I might be a little biased because I dislike the game but even reading the above from a neutral position seems a tad absurd.
I really don’t know. I love this way more than SA2, and I played the Xbox Live Arcade Port when I was younger.
I liked the little girl waiting for her adventurer father.
It's not 2.
1 is such a chore to get through compared to it, its not even funny.
Adventure era had Jun Senoue as the lead composer. Team Sonic Racing is the first game he's had that credit for in 10 years, and it's another mark of quality.
>beating the game 10 times means playing the first level 10 times
woah
I can't listen to this track without cringing. When I hear it all I can remember is 13 year old me throwing an absolute autistic shitfit tantrum because I couldn't get the 2:30 timed run emblem in Speed Highway and my dad coming into the room with a look of utter disappointment on his face.
I made sure to check on the burger shop sperg girl every time I beat a level
I forgot about those, but doesn't pumpkin hill seem more like a meme than anything? Wild Canyon is good though, not sure about the mountain. I'll have to listen to it.
>finishing the game and getting the real ending requires beating it 10 times
And people complain about Ghosts & Goblins making you do it twice.
>no lost world
youtube.com
It pretty much only plays on Knuckles' Lost World too, you hear it for like an attosecond at the end of Sonic's because they fucked up.
Why does Knuckles' voice get worse every time his actor changes?
Jun is a goddamn blessing to this franchise and fandom.
I can still play the shat up SADX GC port and enjoy it at it's core for being adventure 1. It's still adventure 1 even with the clusterfuck of new issues it has.
As much as people meme Pumpkin Hill, the song is actually unironically good.
Ah, I only included the ones that immediately came to mind. It was in no way a final list. Also, I haven't listened to Lost World in literally years; good stuff.
PSO's music was just god tier.
It was such a comfy game
Based Sega.
Just because it's used as a meme doesn't mean people think it's bad.

>Sonic Adventure remake is announced at E3 and it's actually properly done alongside a surprise Mania successor announcement too
Well at least we know what would save that godforsaken event.
I loved it when I was younger. Still like it nowadays despite being flawed.
As long as the meme director of Colors/Lost World/Forces stays away from it I'll take it no matter how it turns out.
>Mania successor goes back to old stages in previous sonic games
>Old 3D game stages
Feeding hope will only end in more heartbreak. It's wiser to not expect anything.
>meme e-celebs and journalists spout how the adventure games are shit and sonic was never good, driving SEGA and Sonic Team as far away from anything adventure related as possible
I hate this fucking planet.
I suppose it would be interesting to see 3D concepts reinvented for the classic formula but all new would still be better. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

>tfw the best we've seen from tails since the Adventure days wasn't even from his modern counterpart
Too bad this fight is a huge piece of shit gameplay-wise, I love the idea of a constantly moving boss that isn't on an enclosed track or autorunning garbage
the adventure ones were fucking tedious and boring
I never got the appeal of sky chase either, I didn't even find it that great in Sonic 2 or Mania. It makes for a nice spectacle but at the end of the day it is a glorified auto scroller.
Goodnight.
You install a program, which installs a download manager and that download manager literally does everything for you in two or three clicks WITH automatic updates (you have to check the launcher periodically).
It can't get any more simple really.
as a kid I liked Sky Chase just as a breather after three torturous acts of Metropolis. I also just liked it as an interesting and cool set piece. It started tying levels together the way S3&K would, like how at the start of Wing Fortress you're still on the Tornado as it gets shot down. It is objectively boring though and must be hell for speedrunners
me too
Best version of Sonic's theme imo

I think it's less people up and changing opinions, though popular people can show old things in new lights or whatever, and more people who already liked something are emboldened and more likely to speak up.
