why didnt we get that cover

It is, but only after you've played the original 3 Arland games, otherwise the first half of the game will feel boring. The gameplay is also essentially Atelier Lydie & Suelle and has no time limit.

What would you say are the good atelier games between Escha & Logy and this one?

People who started with Arland tend to find every game after Escha & Logy abysmal. People who started with Dusk/Mysterious tend to enjoy Lydie & Suelle after slogging through the first two Mysterious games.

Yeah desu that's why I stopped playing but I kinda want to get back at it again

Really depends if you're going to sip that Monster energy drink as an Arlandboomer and complain about the lack of time limits, lack of cost system, etc in Mysterious or not. If doing so gets in the way if enjoying the games, I think you're better off not playing.

It's really good, but only if you are the very specific kind of Atelier player who loves the Arland setting but doesn't mind gameplay systems more similar to those of Mysterious, namely the battle system and the lack of time limit. Otherwise you'll reeeeee at either the story relying a ton on the previous Arland games or the gameplay not being Arland enough.

I just found Escha & Logy plot dull and slow paced, it's literally a game where nothing happens

can i start with lulua?
is crafting as annoying as i think?

Crafting is awesome. if you can't get into it, there's no point in playing Atelier at all since it's the main gameplay mechanic.

I understood that you dont need to play the Arland games to play it but you get a lot more out of it if you do.
I might get it as my first Atelier game.

Lulua does get the ball rolling once you start investigating Fellsgalaxen for real.

>no time limit
Cringe.

Will there be more?

I'm sure koei tecmo is greedy enough to add more

And then you're thrust into a section where you're looking for advice from the previous three protagonists, each tasking you with crafting an important item from each of their journeys. You can play Lulua with no prior knowledge, but you really do lose a lot by doing so.

Pls gib loli Rorona

Just buy them dumb gaijin, don't pirate the DLC, it is harmful for small company like Koei Tecmo.

Honestly, after getting to L&S after Sophie and Firis, Gust has made tons of improvements which makes me believe the game wasn't made at the same time as the other two. I can't wait to see what Lulua has in store.

I want to get into these games, how well are the different aspects balanced? As in, how much adventuring is there to break up the crafting? Will I be doing one way more than the other? Also which one should I start with? I originally wanted to start with Ayesha on the Vita but I've been told the Vita ports are horrible so that's out.

Just buy the extra characters and postgame dungeon piece-meal. Or nothing, since they don't really add anything.

is it a big issue if i haven't played the other arland games before?
i'm in chapter 2 right now and i like it so far. but i figure a lot of old characters and references might come up.

You're already playing it so just keep going. Go back to the previous games afterwards and treat them like prequels.

You have to go to gathering fields to get materials for synthesis, and there's always difficult post-game bosses to kill after you've autistically made ultimate gear.

The two are intertwined since to craft you have to adventure.

Sounds good, any recommendations to start out with?

is it easy to overgrind in this game? also can the dlc items break the game?

DLC items always break the game, but you also can't access them usually.

I haven't played these games since Totori, they're really hard to get into.

>DLC items always break the game
uh oh

If you ever plan on playing the other arland games, do not play lulua first.

As far as grinding, levels mean very little compared to item quality and abilitues, and these are unlocked as the game naturally progresses and you have access to more, better materials. You can craft insane items and equips that make early game content trivial, but by midgame the challenge catches up to them, and so on.

Basically the entire game is "haha remember the time we 'major event from totori' and then we 'major event from meruru'?" You'll ruin the stories of those games by playing lulua.

It's a Mysterious game in the Arland setting

The collection of the other three Arland games is on sale on Switch right now. Are those versions of the game good?

I think it's time for this franchise to move on to the Xbox

They're the best. Please buy. Thank you.

They are pretty much the best Atelier games

They made a 4th Arland game and you didn't even hear it was out until now despite visiting Yea Forums, how do you think it turned out?

There's a thread every day for Lulua though.

Yeah, they're good.
