The producer of the Mother series said Mother 3 is the final one and asked Nintendo to never make another one.

SD3 has quite a few bugs, but they're the kind of bugs that never really make themselves known because the don't break the game in an unplayable way.
For example, shields have zero function in the game. They don't do anything.
Agility is doesn't do anything either, for the most part. It affects the spells of only one of Hawk's classes.
There are many more, but the thing is, these bugs were never caught, and the game ended up being balanced around them. There's a patch out there that attempts to make the stats work as they should (by analyzing the game code) and the game becomes absolutely nightmarish as a result. Hard as fuck.

The remakes play just as they always did, just with low fidelity polygon graphics instead of pixel art. Thing is, SoM's pixel art was on the mediocre side for a SNES game (later Square titles would blow it the absolute fuck out, especially SD3) and the remake looks like upscaling a pretty good PS1 conversion. Secret and Evermore are easily the worst pre-World of Mana games, but Evermore is weird as fuck while Secret is fairly typical in terms of writing and structure and serves as a transitional point between SD1 and 3 more than a well designed entry in its own right. And the OST argument could go all thread.

Angela/Kevin/Hawk was my favorite team.

Angela was lead so I could fight the Black Rabbite and I think I made her Arch Mage because that gave her a good balance in both Intelligence and Spirit and the buff/heal items actually scaled off of those. Hawk was a Nightblade because Nightblade is the best class in the game and with the spellcasting glitch him and Angela could almost kill some bosses before they landed in the arena. Kevin was a Dervish because Moon Saber was very useful and Energy Ball from Death Hand was bugged.

I don't. SD1 is fine but the entire rest of the series is overrated wasted potential.
