GOOD MOOOOOOOORNING Yea Forums! Just wanted to remind you that we’re 3 days away from Anzu (yes, THE Anzu from Hanamaru Kindergarten) getting confirmed as the Square Enix rep in Smash Ultimate! Make sure to save your astonishment for the upcoming E3 direct (or possibly TODAY at the tournament) when Anzu walks into the spotlight!
>b-but Sora or Erdrick would be better choices for the Square rep
“No!”
Sorry, but Sakurai has stated that he wants the DLC characters to be unique and different! Why would Sora or Erdrick get chosen if they’re just generic anime swordsmen with magic, a trope that already exists on the roster? Anzu on the other hand offers a completely unique moveset (such as the Panda Neko dance) and would be the first kindergartener to join the roster! Plus Square is known for sending out leakbait and since Sora and Erdrick are always mentioned by insiders, it means they’re merely leakbait and Anzu is in because she hasn’t circulated among insiders at all!
> b-but Anzu is from a manga and Sakurai said it’s impossible for non-video game characters to join Smash! She can’t be in!
“No!”
Actually the truth is Sakurai only made that statement to ensure that Anzu’s reveal will be the biggest and most unexpected surprise in Smash history, topping Snake, Wii Fit Trainer, Cloud and even Piranha Plant. Besides the rule that only video game characters can join Smash has already been broken because Mickey Mouse, Popeye and Hamtaro are on the Chronicle in Brawl! Also Reggie stated at the Game Awards that the DLC consists of characters that nobody expected to join Smash, and guess who nobody is expecting to get in? That’s right, it’s Anzu from Hanamaru Kindergarten, which guarantees her a spot in the Fighters Pass. But feel free to continue your denial. Your tears of disappointment will be all the more sweeter!
