I'm trying magicians quest but it just feels so clunky

Coincidentally, I just got the garbage switch port (since it's only $30) and I'm happy with it. As someone who played the ds version when it came out and loved it, the port isn't that bad.

The music isn't compressed as fuck and the art looks great. Controls are iffy but in handheld mode it's not far off from the original experience.

Playing Curse of the Moon again to get ready for Bloodstained. Got the physical release on Switch but in hindsight I wish I got it on Vita. Even with the Joycon shell the Dpad doesn't feel great, right is super stiff on it for some reason and i'd want it where the analog stick is. I got the Hori Dpad joycon but it doesn't fit in my grip case and the Dpad is still in the wrong place. Been trying to get used to playing with the analog stick but it just doesn't feel right.

Meanwhile the Vita has the greatest Dpad ever made, i'd give anything for ther Vita's Dpad on the switch.

Put a AGS 101 screen into my GBA years ago from my busted SP. Much prefer the taco form factor of the original GBA to the SP.

With that said I play all my GBA games on my hacked vita, between the Dpad and the bigger OLED screen it just makes it more fun to play. My Vita's battery is starting to show it's age, might have to look into replacing it soon. Anyone know of a cheapest pair of Bluetooth earbuds that place nice with Vita's? I dunno what it is about the Vita but out of my 5 sets of Bluetooth headsets only these god awful huge headphones ones work right with it and I don't wanna wear them while i'm out and about.

My 3DS is still going strong, double IPS and I have probably 1000hrs of monster hunter on it alone. Don't know how Nintendo makes thier batteries last so long

Still use my DSi XL for DS games since the Dpad is in the wrong spot on 3DS. Need to find a comfy grip for it though. Gotta play the DS Castlevanias again real soon.

Now that a Switch Plus or whatever is about to get announced I might look into hacking my switch to maybe replace my Vita as my emulation device. Just wish the Dpad situation was better on the switch and that it had Bluetooth audio without a dongle.

I'm playing Persona Q 2, which is probably going to be the last game on the system, so that's kind of bittersweet. I was a big fan of both the ds and 3ds, bought both at launch, and will really miss the form factor (frankly the 3ds is a much better handheld than the switch.)

Got my Gardevoir the Battle Tree Great Ribbon which was pretty much the last thing I wanted to do before Sword and Shield, so with 240 hours played I'm finally winding down with UltraMoon. Still gonna play a bit to work on my living dex in Bank though, but I'll do that with other games too.

Otherwise I'm playing Labyrinth of Refrain on Switch and waiting for Mario Maker 2 and Super Nep RPG on there too. Also thinking of replaying Muramasa on Vita.

Because it lowers performance, and that matters in a lot of games, especially on the O3DS.

It gives me a headache, tanks the framerate, and makes it hard to focus on individual points on the screen. When my new 3ds XL eventually broke down I bought a new 2ds XL, and it's by far the best 3ds I've owned (and I've owned almost all of them)

Playing FE Fates for the first time, Hoshido route. I know some people hate the new fire emblems, but I don't care. Game is relaxing, weirdo incest-waifus or not. Perfect for playing one or two missions at a time.

Strange Journey Redux is incredible, as a JRPG and even compared to a lot of the other Shin Megami games it's top tier.

The DS version is better from a gameplay and thematic perspective and the Switch version is a direct upgrade from the mobile version. Only play the mobile version if you don't have any other way to play TWEWY.

If you have no other way of playing it, yeah. I personally prefer the DS version’s gameplay but the mobile port can still be pretty fun.

I tried booting my 3ds today for the first time in years, but it would make a clicking noise and turn off maybe a minute after being on
I looked it up online and saw it could be something fixable, so like the idiot I am I decided to open it and see what I could to (I couldn't do shit)
long story short now I have a 3ds that turns off after a minute being on and with a non-functional top screen

DQ9 was one of my favorite DS games, the class system is so much fucking fun, it rewards a lot of experimentation. The game had a lot of online and multiplayer features that aren't really viable anymore, so that's a shame, but it's still just absoiutely fantastic.

A lot of DQ games are like that, it usually catches people off guard.

Star Fox 3D was really good use of the 3D man. I just played it for the first time a few days ago, did it in one sitting and really it made me want one of those 3D TVs for games that support it.

I binged on Retro Game Challenge and now I'm binging on Retro Game Challenge 2. Holy fuck are these incredible games. Even as someone who has only watched a little Game Center CX, the games themselves are just so fun it's insane. When Emuparadise was going down, I downloaded a bunch of games that I heard were good, and I tried out 1 on a hunch a month ago. It almost immediately grew on me as something special. When I learned that there was not only a 2 that didn't get released here, but that it was fan-translated, it was the happiest I've been with a game in a long time.

Besides that, I keep coming back to Planet Puzzle League, and I've got a bunch more games I'm excited to get to.

What's the difference

I was surprised at how much I was willing to play Guadia Quest. I don't really play JRPGs and never really played a DQ, but I ended up even getting all the Game Guadias before beating the game. I guess stuff like being able to save anywhere made it more fun to keep pressing into dungeons to level instead of just wandering around grinding hoping that I'd be leveled enough to not get smoked on the next floor and either get knocked back to my last save or have to bite losing half my money.

Ags-101 is the pink one with the backlit screen. It only came in a light blue, pink, and graphite color. I got mine on amazon for 80 bucks

Just bought a PSP 3000 to play all the PSP and PS1 games I missed from all these years of only owning Nintendo handhelds. Lowest Vita I could find was like $150 and the PSP was half that and came with a case, perfect screen, and a microSD adapter. Is the Vita worth the extra ~$70 if I don't care about any of its exclusives?

Playing through FF7 on the Switch for the first time and I'm surprised by how much fun the game is despite being over 20 years old.
I just finished the Lifestream part in Mideel which was great. Even now I'm impressed by the scope of the game and I can easily see why so many people loved it back in the day.
