Underrail

Forever waiting for Expedition.

Let's talk about builds that aren't pure psi because the mere thought brings up temporal manipulation.

Pure monks are better than psi monks

>plan on not making a stealth sniper because those are always the best builds
>somehow end up stealth sniping my way though depot a anyway

Expidition is supposed to add shotguns, swords and spears. I'll probably make a shotgun or cutlass build, depending on whether I'm more into firearms or heavy cutting weapons at the time.

I had a lot of fun roleplaying a literal nigger with a semi-unga bunga assault rifle build

meh, have fun getting fucked up the ass as soon as someone gets in your close quarters range

Why is Rathound king such a chad?

my original plan was to use sniper rifle to kill enemies at long range and then finish off ones that closed in with smg burst, but I ended up killing like 80% of enemies just with the sniper.

Reminder to kill all tunnel niggas in any and every way you can: stab them, cut them, beat them, gas them, electrocute them, burn them, blast them, poison them, bury them, and eat the fuckers if you have to.

Should've opted for a .44. Sharpshooter and critical power work for it too. Helps keep up the whole one-shot, one kill shebang.

Fucking hell, how did you kill all of them?

Top Bitch Tunnel Nigga figured out I was helping out the based Tchortist bros so I killed his mindreader and blitzed the fucker to death.

Threw a napalm out the door to repel the less fire-resistant tunnel niggs and set down a gas grenade to weaken and damage the others that rushed to it. After that, it became a matter of stunning or incapacitating the dumb idiot who decided to open the door.

When the fire died down, I ran through the cloud of toxic gas and merc'd every one of them pussy gas mask-less tunnel niggas.

Baker bitch died but who gives a fuck?

quit reminding me of all the good shit we're never going to have

nice skyrim meme lol!

So is this just Fallout 1/2 with less dialogue and more shooting?

No and yes. Combat is way better than Fallout's.

he who controls the doors controls the universe

>takes 200% heat damage
>uses a crossbow
>hires another man to steal his bride

He was a post-apocalyptic cave incel.

What did he mean by this?

>Locus of control
>Enrage
>Walk away

Does half the work for you, then mop up the rest.

grenades only is the only way to play

The Chad Sniper Vs The Virgin Crossbowman

They're broken as fuck if you can craft the top tier shit and have grenadier as a feat.

Are there any good psi builds that aren't just pure psi or some half-assed psi monk?

Are you a pussy like these dry cunts?

Attached: pussies.jpg (321x691, 44K)

No. I love Underrail but I want Styg to release Expedition already. It's been fucking forever.

Holy fuck, imagine hating a game for going with a shitty build.

Attached: lol.jpg (621x672, 87K)

It's been over three years.

he's not wrong, though

I wonder what will synergize best with the new Chronomancy psi abilities.

I want to make a pistol/chrono psi character so I can pretend I'm max payne with bullet time

I don't know how out of date this is, if at all

Attached: underrail build.png (800x2175, 565K)

Not even time fuckery can make pistols any good in this game, I reckon

>Pure monks are better than psi monks
Objectivley false since psi adds another damage layer to each punch and 0 AP stuns via premeditation.

Attached: underrail psi.jpg (2460x2120, 2.61M)

he mentions his build once in one sentence. every other sentence in that 3 paragraph review was legitimate complaints that had nothing to do with his build.

imagine getting so triggered by some guy disliking a game you like you screen shot what he says and obsessively try to kick up shit on a Vietnamese cartoon image board.

Underrail was a very fun game, Jacks.

Chemistry has gas grenades now, the defense skills are completely unnecessary for an experienced player, traps are only useful if you're going to sneak, and biology gives you access to broken as fuck combat drugs.

man i remember when we were making this image
how little we knew

>look at this review, they don't get this game like I do
bunch of hipsters you are

The most fun build I ever played was knife stealth and mind control.

This image was wrong about tranquility vs psychosis when it was made (and I remember arguing in threads with retards for a long ass time about tranq v psycho), and its still wrong now god damn it tranquility sucks ass in comparison to psychosis.

Resolve is insane on dominating, cyrogenic induction works well with a boosted premeditated over 50% health damaging Implosion, pyrokinetic stream is op as fuck in the right conditions, lowered con means your damage is doing way more than it was before thanks to a lowered health pool, and psionic mania's cooldown makes psychostatic's crit chance bonus worth it.

You're a faggot

he's completely right in respect of underrail not respecting your time. it fucking doesn't, after your first playthrough (even during your first playthough) you should strongly consider using cheat engine to run the game at 2x speed, with a toggle for 8x speed for when you need to backtrack. otherwise the game can become absurdly tedious at points.

he's completely wrong about the story though, its a bit "backloaded" towards the late-mid to the end, but the story and lore of underrail is fucking fascinating

Psychosis is amazing combined with survival instincts when you stay under 30% health.
All those crits.

Attached: t.jpg (485x314, 77K)

I do agree on the Cheatengine thing. I gave up and started using it when I got to the Foundry. Shoulda done so earlier.

have fun dying

Not him, but I beat DOMINATING! with a 10con + max will pure psicho build that abused the fuck out survival instincts and additive damage reduction.

>conditioning
>aegis
>morphine shot
>stoicism

you can literally get to something like 99% mechanical damage resistance. the only thing that could breach that defence was certain kinds of psionic attacks. the tradeoff is that you're walking around at roughly ~10% hp on a game mode where your base hp is already cut down to fuck and all the enemies hit like trucks, so if you encounter an enemy that actually can breach that absurd damage resistance you are going to die in one hit.

really really fun build though.

I'm invincible.

Attached: t.jpg (496x462, 115K)

my nigga

You are fucking adorable.

Attached: 20190608030201_1.jpg (494x459, 73K)

your defenses are substantially lower than his though lol

sounds like you have a personal stake in this

Oh wow, he can resist stuns and mental breakdowns.

One bullhead is all I need and psykers die before they can do shit.

look at the damage resistances, moron

I don't think you understand how those work, dumbass

I only take 35% damage from Bio, energy, acid, and electricity. 15% mechanical damage is all that gets through, 21% heat, and 21% cold.

The other guy takes 85% of everything. He's taking way more damage than I am.

Yes yes, very good.
However.

Attached: URDR.png (485x446, 19K)

How?

Its the character described in I'M FUCKING INVINCIBLE

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 83K)

Does frost really scale like shit?

Ah, stoicism, Always thought that feat was fucking useless.

No not really, not sure what the hell they meant by that. It's not worth taking cryogenic induction, but its becuase its a shit feat not because frost is bad. Cryokinesis is your basic go-to PSI ability because its so reliable (and has the range of a fucking sniper rifle on steroids)
A lot of the information in that image is kinda bad because it was made literally like a week after Underrail came out and no one really knew what the fuck they were on about

Bruh, do you even implode shit?

Attached: 20190603151332_1.jpg (1920x1080, 518K)

Why do you have to take the health penalty for psi? It doesn't make any sense.

thermodynamic destabilization is literally the most overpowered ability in the entire fucking game, and yet the first time i got it i though
>looks ok, i guess. kinda niche
and then promptly forgot about it

>tfw first character that beat the game on hard was a psi sniper that cleared packs using TD
no idea how i'd have beaten deep caverns without it

>pickpocketing
just like a nigga

That's well and good for when you're not up against an absolute beast with no surrounding fodder to blow the fuck up.

didnt mean to quote but yeah implode is pretty nifty
dont forget that telekinetic proxy copies your implosion cast, its pretty much the only way to beat those ridiculous Arena niggers on dominating in the early-mid game.

god, why can't expedition come out so i can play a full on psionic god with power over time?

There can only be a few godmen

What a shit guide. You definitely cast Cryö Orb because it's the best aoe spell.

Trance + Psionic Mania + Cyro Orb = frosty genocide.

My only problem with the game is DC. You don't simply put a huge build filter after 70hrs+, that's just cruel.

How the hell did you ever make it past Depot A?

I was rolling a stealth+pistol build that made me breeze through the game until that fucking power plant in DC, my supplies dried, I got tired of save scumming and ultimately quit. I'll play it again when the DLC drops though.

>stealth+pistol build
That's your first mistake.

Pistols that aren't .44s are absolute shit.

firearm* pistols that aren't 44s are shit
energy and chemical pistols are sick.

only three, to be exact

I don't even consider those pistols because pistols suck that fucking hard.

Is chem pistol viable on dominating? Can get one early enough and what about acid immune mutants?

There are frost and incendiary pistols.

i've beaten dominating on a chem pistol build
it's pretty viable, but you must know when to stop pumping DEX to pump your PER
If you level mercantile enough you can luck out and get a cryoliquid pistol before depot A, with mad chemist it'll make that place a fucking breeze.

all 3 pistols are equally decent, you use cryo to buy you time with cc, incendiary to deal fucklots of damage setting peoples on fire with a execute, and acid for mechanical enemies or enemies that have too much armor

I played around with one, and they're pretty good. The earlygame is fucking tough though, fluid playstyle really relies a whole lot on having all your feats and a very high dexterity. Realistically, the earliest time you'll be getting one is during the junkyard quests.
As the other guy said, you can get fire and frost pistols however frost is shit. Fire is really good though, you build up to something like 400% extra damage over 2 turns and it gets pretty mental.
Fun but hard build. Could probably clear dominating with it. I managed to clear Silent Island before core city with it without an enourmous amount of problems and thats typically a sign that your build is good enough to go far in Dominating. Very very feat/skill point starved though, I was trying to put points in so many goddamn things.

>mfw industrial robots
why why why why

Attached: 1542253113578.png (468x431, 185K)

>frost is shit
it's usefulness is inversely proportional to the game's lenght, it'll fucking carry you on depot A because enemies in there (besides the bots) have 0 mechanical res.

i wouldn't say it's shit, underpowered? yeah.
but chilling enemies and freezing them has some decent upsides.
if only you could trigger hypothermia or shatter enemies with it

lol i've still not finished the game. fuck

Why does a fucking industrial mech have higher resistances than actual combat robots?

perhaps it is doing industrial work inside an active volcano

My first playtrough was a stealth sniper and these fuckers... THESE FUCKERS.

What's the best psi school to go with chem pistols?

lol, where's your armor piercing rounds?

If I had to guess, either thought control or psychokinesis for various crowd control opportunities
honestly if you end up going thought control i'd consider putting 30 points into PK purely because telekinetic wall is so fucking good; creating obstacles that people need to walk around when you've covered the ground in death would be very powerful

It's about AP. These fuckers start swarming you after you snipe and there's just not enough AP to kill them all.

>compulsively buy every EMP grenade from every vendor
>have over 70 of the things sitting around in my inventory
>reach Arke Powerstation

Attached: 1420741231809.png (400x684, 324K)

Neve seen one.
Are they new?

bruh, do you even mkIII?

They appear towards the endgame in Hard, and at the endgame in normal. They're by far the most powerful robotic enemy in the game, with over 1000 hp, a flamethrower attack they can spam every turn, and fucking LUDICROUS mechanical resistence. The fucking things can tank sniper rifle bullets if you're not using armour piercing munition. Easily one of the most difficult enemies in the game, and they're rarely alone.
In typical horrific fashion, they're out and about in the midgame in dominating

What are some of the best and funnest builds?

psychokinesis + sledgehammer and heavy armour

good game but i will never forgive toby fox for unleashing the cancer that is the fadnom

Think I'm doing good so far but I've fucked my stats.

Attached: 20190608055101_1.jpg (1920x1080, 512K)

haha have an upboat!

man what the fuck is this build
thought control + chemical pistols?
what immediately stands out to me is that thats rather low dex to be using chemical pistols with

>thought control + chemical pistols?
Yup.
>what immediately stands out to me is that thats rather low dex to be using chemical pistols with
Point shot is a feat.
