Honestly I feel the only reason steve had so much
hype was due to timing and nothing else. Minecraft was still very popular in 2015 when the smash ballot and many polls were taken, and it's likely a lot of kids voted. If you took a smash ballot now and revealed it for the next smash game in say, 2023, he probably wouldn't make it into the top 10, he'd get replaced with Fortnite Gary.
