Nothing particularly except the track pad, they just aren't special like weirdos pretend they are

UT99 and Quake 3 was one of the FPS genre rivals ever.

Why do boomers have such good aim

I love thinkpad clits

Screen is too small. Nice try.

ya. me with my asus g751jy
i7, 24gb ram, gtx 980m

because we grew up in the real world where aim matters.

Been thinking about replacing my t420 with something that has a 1080p screen, what should I get?

Then upgrade to it.

A 1080p ips screen and upgrade kit for your t420

is that a syringe in the back

Anything newer has a worse chicklet keyboard.

>i7, 24gb ram, gtx 980m
jesus christ why do they even make PCs with specs this unbalanced? Absolute jews trying to milk money.

Seems like a reasonable 2015 high end laptop. Proabaly overpriced tho like all laptops are compared to it's desktop equivalent

24 gb ram is overkill unless you do rendering work, meanwhile gtx 980 is not good enough to run any new games being released comfortably. All the while, the i7 cpu is most likely overkill being bottlenecked by the GPU.

You can never have too much ram my friend. And the 980m being obsolete is just an argument against investing in a gaming laptop my guess is it has a 1080p pannel and it probably does the job even in new shit at medium

>You can never have too much ram my friend.
Unless you do graphic work or encoding files, you will never max out 16 gb ram, 24 gb is like 300-400 usd down the shitter.

>never
Only siths deal in absolutes
Money isn't really why bother worrying

forced meme cock suckers

I'm not trying to be funny, otherwise you'd laughing. 24 gbsused to be what people who buy 32gb ram kits today bought
>x58 masterrace

Show programming socks.

>gtx 980 is not good enough to run any new games being released comfortably.
The 980 is still a decent GPU. It's no 1080/2070, but it can still play new games well.

It started at 16gb of ram but I added more. I bought the laptop in 2017 if not 2018. I am well aware that for the same price I could have built a better desktop but I wanted mobility. And this thing has given it to me. It has run every game i've thrown at it with no issues. I am still very happy with this machine. I don't think the GTX 980M will be dead anytime soon, at least for my uses. I think that gaming laptops ARE overpriced but probably for the mobility. Also idk if a G-SYNC panel makes all the more expensive but it has that too. Only up to 75hz though, which isn't very much but it's a nice addition.

mfw when I got the extra 8gb of ram for free.

I'm enjoying RE2, (although not the toughest of games to run) at reasonably high settings for this being a laptop. The 980M has done wonders for me. Only thing I might wanna do in the future is repaste this bad boy as it does sometimes reach 90c on some games.

Name a new game and i'll tell you if i've ran it or not "comfortably" as you say....

>trackpad
They are shit because your supposed to use the clit most the old x line didnt even have a trackpad

Never liked the clit, not the worst thing or anything but I just don't like laptop replacement solutions to the optical mouse. I only ever enjoyed using my laptop once I got once with a touchscreen

That's true today, but what about in 5 years?

Don't think it'll change too much, just like cpu requirements for gaming in the last 5 years.

peak boomer

user, you do know you are supposed to put thermal paste on your CPU while building it, right?
