They killed the e-sports scene, not the game, it's still getting updates even if slower.
I don't like the game, nor any other dota-like, but after 2k hours of Dota 2 I'm still recovering and this gives me a good hit of the dota-like feel, which is quick and simple

It still exists, but without updates it will be stagnant for long periods of time. Killing the esports sent a message that the game is on its way out, making many of the better players quit, leaving only trash to play awful games with.

I tried every big MOBA available and could never get into them, but for whatever reason I really liked HotS. All other MOBAs were just full of too many try hards and it was pure cancer, HotS was easier and faster paced and I liked being able to play a few games and be on my way. HotS was honestly one of the last games I was still enjoying from Blizzard, they destroyed everything else I loved.

nah, game's dead, most of the content that's coming out had been in development long before activision blizzard decided to pull the plug on esports and cut the funding on the game. they will run out of things to release sooner or later (leaning towards sooner).

last thing they said was something along the line of a talent tune up but no redesign in the works. They are a relic of a time when the game was too young and to make them work in the current game and in the future they'd have to reinvent them to not be themselves, and they don't want that. Devoted TLV players get to keep their snowflake hero and teams who never play with TLV will continue to lose miserably.

I guess they wanted to move him to some other project and he refused, so he took the pink slip instead. Honorable man, never forsaking his gamefu even when a Starcraft game was in development at the time.
At least the team still has some competent people on it, but state of Blizzard is dire so hope they stick around.
