For those of you who honestly think that all video games are shit now, what the fuck do you want to play? There are so many games coming out right now catering to all kinds of people it's almost impossible to keep track. Give explicit ideas for games you would want to play, and don't give me that "a good game" shit, that just means you have nothing to say.

I just circle jerk to games ive played as a kid

When I call games shit, I mean AAA live service garbage. Ubisoft even said they don't care about making real games anyway.

>wrestling game with detailed character creator
>you can make both male and female wrestlers
>they win by beating and raping their opponents into submission

Would you play this?

Personally I'd love to see a Morrowind remake. Not a remaster, but a remake. Keep the same design ideas, bring back on michael kirkbride for writing, heavily delve into the original concept arts for Morrowind/Vvardenfell, adjust the combat to be somewhat like Dark Souls, but focused more on stats and very difficult, balance the game a bit more so that it's not quite as easy to break it but still doable.
I'd kill for that. I know we'll never see it since voiced dialogue is near mandatory these days and it seems like the "hardcore rpg" market is either very quiet or dying out, but I can hope. I really just want Morrowind but with the original concepts of it restored. It'd be cool to see shit like Skylamps flying around.

Hexcells Infinite?

It's quantity over quality dipshit. Most of the games coming out are nickel and dime MMOs, nickel and dime mobile fighting games, or nickel and dime first person shooters with lootboxes. Barely any single player games anymore, and the ones that do come around only occur once in a blue moon. Even games that should be decent get dragged down by pretentious tryhards and focus on multiplayer (RDR 2). Fighting games that should be fun as fuck get dragged down by politics and lootboxes and microtransaction bullshit.

Genres have become homogenized as well. It feels like there were so many different genres back in the day, but now everything is either FPS, fighting F2P, or online MMO. Stealth genre is dead, among many others.

Attached: 1358567049886.png (1100x1100, 1.46M)

all my favourite game genres are dead

>tfw no single-player fast-paced fps
>tfw no pure stealth games
>tfw no old-school crpgs
>tfw no old-school jrpgs
>tfw no mountain blade 2 bannerlord

Fucking easy, but why in the fuck would you click behind a wall like on the left, when there's so many mines left?

its the salty pc fags who are still mad that all the pc studios jumped ship

see people with good taste in video games have been more than happy with the current state of video games

>tfw no pure stealth games
Probably not what you're looking for but Shadow Tactics is an excellent game.

>tfw no old-school crpgs
Divinity: Original Sin 1+2 and Pathfinder: Kingmaker (which just got a big update). Also BG3 just got announced.

>tfw no old-school jrpgs
I don't play these but there isn't anything like this on Steam these days?

>Shadow Tactics
>isometric top down view
Fuck no.

Only if I can filter out all male and futa characters in online and offline play and if I can make a furry gal. Former is more important than the latter

>tfw no single-player fast-paced fps

What? There have been so fuckin many of these recently though. Dusk and Blood just to name two

Attached: 1546995488501.png (510x450, 225K)

You technically want action stealth then rather than pure stealth. Not sure what the best options are for that.

There's 2 billion more people on this planet since the release of the original playstation, of course there's going to be more games. You just need to look for the good ones, there's still about the same ratio of good to bad games as there were back in the day.

No, I want games to not be top down view because all other games on PC are already like that. 2D shit is also gross.

I doubt there is anyone who hates absolutely everything being made nowadays. Most are usually referring to Nowadays every genre usually has a handful of good games made in the past few years

Attached: 1535224006531.jpg (1372x1952, 248K)

I'm calling horse shit on that. It's like telling someone to find good anime nowadays, when it's clear the only things that exist now are slice of life, satire, or isekai.

>I want games to not be top down view
Do you even really care about old school CRPGs then?

divinity and pathfinder are nu-rpg catering to baldur's gatetards.

>jrpgs
>on steam

And all of them will be "accesible" and easy as fuck

Wow wow wow Vagabond is back?!

I would have played Divinity Original Sin 2, but it's impossible to play with a gamepad, and all the endings blow ass. Also, the customization for your character was shit. But no, I'm talking about STEALTH games. Stealth games like Tenchu, Splinter Cell, and the like.

I Am so fucking sick of the top down view. Every game on Steam is top down view, all because PC master race can only use a piano to move characters in a god perspective. They can't utilize proper movement to maneuver a character in true 3 dimensions.

name 10. also blood is a boomer game from the 90's.

What about Dusk and Blood, the crossover game of Dusk and Blood? I was really impressed with Dusk and Blood as well, individually, but blending Dusk and Blood was a great idea first proposed by the devs of Dusk and Blood devs agreed.

A multiplayer game that does not encourage degenerative gameplay.

There is a JRPG tag with a lot of shit there.

>Pathfinder system
>nu-rpg

Give me:

The Last Story (wii)
Nier Replicant
Dragon's Dogma
Jedi Outcast
Quake ONE/1
Unreal Gold
KOTOR 2
Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl
Armored Core: For Answer
Ace Combat Zero

Now tell me what you get

>imagine enjoying 3.5 dnd

also, what jrpgs are on steam other than final fantasy ports and indieshit?

store.steampowered.com/tags/en/JRPG/

Also, you are being way too hard on Pathfinder. It's still a good game and it's just from last year.

It must of course be alive, and anyone who gives me a correct answer, I will buy three steam games for.
It’s not something I have to worry about, however. I am far smarter and far better at video games than any of you, and it simply does not exist.

Vagabond
Good

OH SHIT I FORGOT CASTLEVANIA

ALL OF THE CASTLEVANIA

Except it's probably just uhh OoE, SoTN, and AoS

oh boy, yakuza, that's one good jrpg alright. and... uh... leanna's slice of life? some chink game? and rpg maker game #3094. I sure love the scores of jrpgs they have on steam.

Define degenerative gameplay.

RDR2 was great, you NPC. The singleplayer experience was genuinely one of the best we've ever had in gaming, and I'm a NEET boomer who's been gaming non-stop since the 90s.

Sick and tired of seeing people shitting on RDR2 for cool points. Yeah, the multiplayer sucked, but they made the best singe-player experience maybe ever.

Attached: rap girl 1552072722168.png (1920x1080, 1.03M)

I agree, RDR2 is the most froundbreaking game of all time. I dare say that it's release marks a cultural milestone, much like the release of Don Quixote or Citizen Kane. No game can match it's immersiveness, it's richness of it's original gameplay, and the expertise with which rockstar weaves their most emotionally rich story yet.

This post shows that you don't actually delve into gaming as anything other than a surface layer.

>tfw no single-player fast-paced fps
Doom.
>tfw no pure stealth games
Hitman.
>tfw no old-school crpgs
There's literally a billion of them, and another user already pointed it out. But you tried to play it down as "lol they cater to baldurfags" because it would shatter your illusion of knowing what you're talking about to admit the user was right. At this point, you're just trying to seem like you're cooler than everyone else because nothing satisfies your super niche taste of "it has to be an old-school RPG but it shouldn't be similar to Baldur's Gate at all".
>tfw no old-school jrpgs
Bravely Default. SMT IV. Octopath. Once again, you don't know what you're talking about.
>tfw no mountain blade 2 bannerlord
A very specific game hasn't had a sequel come out yet. Cry me a fucking river.

I feel like this user is the type of guy who came to Yea Forums around 2010 and thought "OH these people are so cool, they don't even like video games! I should pretend to be a salty boomer who hates all modern games to fit in!"

The same thing happens with the people who go on old songs comment sections and talk about how they were born in the wrong generation because "modern music sucks". There's a ton of good modern music and good modern video games coming out. If you can't see that, then you've only focused on the surface level instead of diving deep into this hobby and finding the gems that are actually there.

But we all know you're here to feel good about how sophisticated your taste is, so what am I wasting my breath on?

Got a better single player game in mind?

lmao

>doom
brainless arena shooter for edgy 12-year olds

>hitman
get the right disguise and win simulator

>squeenix shit

how about you get a better argument than muh zoomer games are good, zoomer?

I want a new GITS Fuchikoma game, or more fast paced tank/mech shit like ZOE2, or a mix of both, must be accompanied by a god tier soundtrack.

yes. red dead redemption 3 will surely be even better.

A game where a novice has more reasonable options available to them than an expert.
Baseball is not a degenerative game: a skilled pitcher has far more pitches available, a skilled batter is able to hit with far more control, a skilled fielder is able to make more plays. This is an increase from a novice player in any of those roles, even considering some choices are lost: for example, a hidden ball trick, or being able to throw silly pitches at 40 mph and be competitive.
Tic tac toe is a degenerative game. A novice has 9-x moves available, where x is the number of turns completed. An expert has one, or very few.

I can't tell if this is a legitimate counter of if he's false-flagging the opposition to make them sound dumber.

No, come on, tell us your favourite game user. Don't be shy.

too bad my kids will be able to literally speak by the time RDR3 comes out

All those good games and then Unreal Gold shows up and spoils the list

>I have no argument. must call him a falseflagger.

I just made a good argument. Your response to it was so dry-cut that I genuinely thought someone was false flagging you to sound like an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about.

If you want another response from me, why don't you go back and try responding to my original post again, this time put some effort into it.

you're the doomtard that wanted me to play squeenix garbage and 5hitman, right? yeah, I'm not interested in anything you have to say after all.

Attached: 3a7.jpg (680x680, 81K)

I don't know if I buy this, a skilled pitcher playing against a skilled team has more effective pitches than a novice does against a skilled team, sure. However, a novice against other novices has all kinds of effective pitches, they just fall off as the skill of his opponents increase. When everyone is roughly equal, the novice has more effective moves, when it's skilled players against novice players, the skilled players have more effective moves.

In this way, most games are degenerative, the key must be in how many effective strategies you can give skilled players, rather than somehow breaking the aforementioned reality of strategic effectiveness.

See, this is the type of top grade responses that you gotta expect from this type of user. The type of guy who criticizes doom, hitman, and a plethora of good square eenix games with one-liners, spewing memes to top it off.

This is the type of user that really shits up Yea Forums, because all they can talk about it "modern games are shit because *insert one line criticism full of buzzwords*". These people don't actually see games as a form of entertainment, it's just a way for them to compare boast about how sophisticated their taste is. If you like a game that isn't old enough to be considered "good", then you're clearly a peasant compared to this patrician of the arts.

That's all gaming is to him. He wants to feel superior to others because of how sophisticated his taste supposedly is.

>for answer

gay

lmao, I'm glad I don't care about videogames as much as you do, nerd

No. The only thing more obnoxious than listening to criminal from 1800's ramble about how racists are evil and women are just as stronk as men is actually trying to control a game in which every action feels more like a second-and-a-half cutscene than it does a normal game input.
>you're just being contrarian
I genuinely did not like it. For a better relatively recent SP experience see Deus Ex Mankind Divided which, despite being based on "Racebait: The Premise", somehow manages to come across as less cynical and preachy than RDR2. It is also forever unfinished but makes up for it by having vastly better gameplay. The irony of a great many contextual actions in MD being literal second-and-a-half cutscenes is not lost on me, but just moving around feels so much more natural than RDR2.

A FPS team-based hero shooter with classes like OW but with longer TTK, huge roster, and pretty girls. That's all I want.

New chapter fucking when?!

>The only thing more obnoxious than listening to criminal from 1800's ramble about how racists are evil and women are just as stronk as men is actually trying to control a game in which every action feels more like a second-and-a-half cutscene than it does a normal game input.
If this is all you got from RDR2, then I feel sorry for you. It's like you went into the game looking for that one specific thing to focus on at the expense of everything else that this game could offer. Kind of like how SJWs walk around looking for the tiniest thing to get offended by, and once they find it, they focus on it.

>It's like you went into the game looking for that one specific thing to focus on at the expense of everything else that this game could offer.
That's nice, but I didn't. The writing just immediately struck me as dishonest and completely shattered any sense of immersion that could have formed, while the gameplay felt like it was tripping over itself trying harder to look good than to feel good. The intro being what it was definitely did not help my first impression of the latter.

it's 2019. wild west outlaws can be woke too. deal with it.

Your assumption on baseball is incorrect, and seems to be the opinion of someone who has never played. In addition, you make incorrect assumptions. Skilled vs skilled, or skilled vs novice doesn’t change the matchup: there are certain act that optimize your chance of winning. It doesn’t matter if your opponent can’t hit a 50 mph fastball, a 100 mph is still optimal. Likewise, in the opposite situation, just because someone smashes your 40 mph, doesn’t mean 20 mph is viable for a novice. In fact, playing against someone of equal skill increases the number of available moves, since you can interact with your opponent in a meaningful way.
>most games are degenerate
Yes, because they’re poorly designed.

Literally never. He got bored of it and will never finish it.

What is it?

>Competitive ARPG where one player plays the role of a lich defending his lair from the other player, an invading paladin
>Paladin player experiences the game from a first person perspective and begins a match outside the lair, tasked with defeating the guardians and battering the doors down
>Lich player has as much time as that takes the paladin to prepare by setting traps and minions around the lair ala dungeon keeper
>Lich player also needs to designate an object in the lair to be his phylactery
>Once the paladin player comes through the doors, the Lich can observe his progress in an RTS like interface that allows him to command his minions and manually spring traps and cast spells
>He can even possess minions to use their abilities and attacks himself, but should these minions be killed while he inhabits them, it will lower his max health for the final confrontation
>When (or if) the paladin manages to slay his way to the Lich's personal chambers, the final showdown between the players takes place and the lich is afforded a first person view of the action as well
>If the paladin player has not found and destroyed the phylactery, the lich player can resurrect once with reduced health
>Regardless of the outcome of the match, both players will be rewarded with new stuff like spells, weapons and armor, minions and guardians, traps, cosmetics, voice lines etc.
>Tone of the game wouldn't be entirely serious, but not dungeon keeper wacky either

Attached: palalich.jpg (1000x901, 105K)

Also, the issue with saying “well, it’s ok as long as you have enough strategies,” is that that sets a hard cap on potentiality. That is the deathknell of interest, and the only way to sustain interest beyond that is to distract people with shiny baubles. And while you’re at it, why not sell them some micro transactions? It’s a beautifully corrupt system that is self reinforcing: why have better game design when it’s easier to get money out of people without? Easy example, since I’d hate to insult someone’s favorite skinnerbox, is mobage. A touch screen is an objectively shit input device, but that doesn’t explain everything about the sheer pathetic embarrassment that is mobile gaming.

Kenshi was the best game to release recently.

Attached: Kenshi-LoFi-Games.jpg (900x450, 64K)

I just want to play a character driven rpg like mother3, I am not talking about the same setting and humor, just the it giving importance to its narrative and characters but that's a lot to ask. Undertale, deltarune and all the other inspired games are terrible and a disappointment, I wished something that felt more sincere.

Give me a good cop vs robbers game.
Give me mp games that dont get ruined by new unbalanced character or weapon of the month.
Give me new games ip with TECNOLOGY and care for details, not just flashy graphics.

Where do I find them?

Attached: 1553152666389.png (679x679, 504K)

>asymmetrical gameplay
Even ignoring the fact that the pally vs lich concept is really great, this is something that really needs to be explored more. It’s a great way of forcing great moments to happen without having awkward gameplay mechanics (say assfaggot power growth). But everything with these ideas seem so poorly done, weaker than the old halo infested mode.
I’ve always thought mixing different genres is a really cool idea never done. I even thought of having someone be playing a guitar hero type rhymn game while someone is playing a hack and slash, another a FPS, another an rts, so on. Would be highly amusing if nothing else. Your idea takes that to a reasonable level, though.

>They can't utilize proper movement to maneuver a character in true 3 dimensions.
That's what the mouse is for. Are you trying to play games in just a keyboard? Games can be great without even having movement systems anyway. Just look at strategy games.

Unrelated, but after switching from primarily console to primarily pc after a 360, I find it’s actually more comfortable to play even platformers with a keyboard. Dumb idea?

I agree, it's way more comfortable. I can still play with a controller just fine and prefer it for some games. Both keyboard+mouse and controller are equal honestly. The only time keyboard+mouse is really better is in games that benefit from lots of buttons. In which case, on the fly controller and keyboard+mouse switching is amazing.

They just want to be kids again and play games with the same sort of vision that's untouched by living experiences, growing up, etc.
