This is Ridley's biggest problem. When Charizard was by himself he felt like a third of a character, and this by extension is how Ridley feels. Sakura incorrectly thought that by replacing the sheer utility of Squirtle and Ivysaur with gimmicks that don't work at all (down-B for example) the design could work, but it doesn't. Because Charizard is a horrible design. Every pro player will tell you this, which is why he was bottom-tier in Brawl, 4 and this game. The ONLY utility Charizard has is as an emergency battering ram to accompany Squirtle and Ivysaur. He sucks fucking shit without that, and Ridley is clear proof of this. Ridley needs a total rework not based on Charizard, and Charizard himself either needs to remain a one-trick pony for Pokemon Trainer or go in the bin permanently.
