It's a sad gimmick that boomers didn't like.
Zoomers never even played link to the past.
Do the math.

Because boomers don't wanna admit how much better this game is than ALTTP. Easily a top 5 Zelda game.

it's link to the past with gimmicks added. sinple as that.

Yea Forums doesn't play video games

I wish we could, but my threads I try to start are archived after one reply.

It's a very good game, and Yea Forums has terrible taste

What is there to say about it? You aren't even talking about it.

It is an old game.

Most of the Zelda fanbase cares more about the 3D games.

A shame because most of those games aren't very good

I played it for 3 hours when it was new then the game froze when I jumped down from a ledge or something. Haven't touched it since.

A damn shame, the 2d ones are some of my favourite games of all time.

It’s a Zelda game that didn’t have much progress in terms of difficulty. Each dungeon might was well be the very first dungeon. It was a non-linear game that failed be to implemented correctly.

This and Wind Waker are the only two I never got my hands on to play. How is it?

Irene's grandmother is Maple after a century or so.

Too easy

Post cute Zelda

Because it's a great game, so people can't criticize much stuff... Except maybe that is too similar to ALtP

I don’t know, I think it’s really fun.

Worst 2d nintendo zelda by miles. Dungeons were way too simple. Did the game even have new bosses? I honestly cant remember.

You need to put Hilda in the OP for any traction.
Maybe some fapfics of her

She's just purple Zelda.

It's a great game let down by reusing ALttP's shitty overworld(s).

It feels like a LTTP romhack but done with weird 3D graphics.

cute!!

Because we did 6 years ago.

My first Zelda game, I liked it.

It's a nice game, I liked it more than ALTTP

Fuck those. I needed 1 for ages, i eventually found it. In the witches hut, the only fucker to be inside anywhere and its the potions shop. potions are for pussys.

>potions are for pussies
t. can't handle potions

It's a mediocre and forgettable 5 hour long game.

Also braindead easy

I remember the official art where Yuga was dragging Zelda off who was reaching for Link who was also reaching for her... with Hilda just very sublet kinked arms with Link to pull him away too. That initial art combine with the quote where she speaks to Zelda’s portrait that her hero (Link) is superb raised my yandere flag. It made me think that Hilda wanted Link to be her destined hero for her land.

It’s great. Never played lttp either so it was new for me

>ywn feel Hilda's silky gloves caressing your face
It's not fucking fair

Soulless

because it's good and nobody complains about it.

>Being such a lousy player that you have to survive on potions rather than random heart drops.

I played alttp growing up, so I loved it.

Never played a 2D zelda before, but I'm planning to get a 2DS in the nearish future and will most likely get ALBW - what am I in for?

Also, should I get the 3DS versions of OoT and MM? Those are the only two 3D Zeldas I haven't played.

I'm playing oracles of ages rightnow. I never played zeldas in my youth but finished the big ones last year. I enjoy 2d zeldas way more than 3d. Unironically think oot and mm is overrated but i see why people like them.

Would you help her save her kingdom?

It's pretty good. The mural gimmick was very well implemented. The item rental gimmick was pretty dumb though and didn't really add anything except a gold sink. It also meant that all the main content had to be designed around only ever having one item at a time, but people exaggerate how much that affected the game overall.

i liked it
villian sucked tho unless you count hilda

It's cool. It's a shame we will likely never ever see Hilda, Yuga, or Ravio ever again.

I did not like having all the items available from the start. The coolest part from each dungeon is getting the item and then use it to solve the dungeon's unique puzzles/boss mechanics. Everything felt a bit generic because of this.

Depends on what that entails
Post more

Handhelds are too often overlooked in gaming communities. A Link Between Worlds was the first great Zelda since the '90s. Gamespot even gave this game GOTY!

Because i was busy playing it, sorry.

I did.

Attached: Hilda.png (1511x1436, 1.25M)

Cuz it's shit

Lol nope

I dunno. It's my favourite "2D" Zelda

Alttp isn't even that fun. Use the fucking silver arrow on Ganon.

Og right, yeah, because I should know that even fucking exists. And no I didn't read the sign at the back of the room you drop down when you battle Ganon until maybe my 3rd attempt.

I want to bully Ravio.

Attached: IMG_20190602_005450.png (934x1024, 52K)

I love it, wish the artstyle was a bit better.

It's my favorite Zelda game. It's A Link to the Past, but better. Not by much, what have you, but I just found it easier to digest because of its modernizations. It's different enough that it has its own unique charm and it got me into a mood that no other Zelda really does for me. It's just well-crafted thanks to the hindsight of A Link to the Past.

It's a good game that's held back by borrowing so much from a previous game and looking worse while doing it. ALBW is great, but while the "They're NSMBing Zelda!" doomsaying didn't turn out to be true, there is something deeply bland about the presentation.

I enjoy it a lot more than I ended up enjoying BotW, though.

It's good but what about Tri Force Heroes?

Attached: TFH_Legendary_Dress_Artwork.png (316x592, 237K)

Gimmick-driven and poorly explained itself. Also outright doesn't bring back Ravio in favor of two Original the Links with no story.

There's not much to talk about.

I liked the swamp palace music, there's that.

it's shit
>buy dungeon item outside of the dungeon
>dungeon's entire puzzle set is using that one item plus wallwalking

it rehashes ALTTP without adding much to it. When it was first announced I was hoping they would go beyond Hyrule and expand the scope of the overworld but instead they stuck too closely to the original instead of making the game stand out on its own

Lorule also should've been mirrored to fully emphasize the "reflection" theming it had

Attached: HildaSmash4.png (1500x1500, 1.11M)

Are you formally submitting a writ of "No way fag"

Some missions are straight up impossible on your own and the 3DS' online sucked and is dead.

>didn't play on hero mode
>calls others lousy players

Attached: sci.png (230x194, 25K)

this. no one asked for a weird sequel, and would have much rather had it in the same style of the original game

Lorule should have been mirrored vertically.
What's a mountain in Hyrule becomes a deep crater jutting down into the ground, and vice versa.

How do you play on Hero Mode? Hacks?

Decent game that nobody really cares about and doesn't provide enough shitposting fuel to run dead jokes into the ground with

Don't bother if you don't have someone else to play it with. There are too many sections they didn't really take into account that someone would try it solo. The delay when switching too long and makes a fairly simple puzzle frustratingly difficult.

Hilda had a big fat butt. She also should have been a boss battle.

It really should have tried more things outside LttP's mold. If it did that, it could've been considered a really good sequel.
Also rework the item stuff. Its nice to be able to do any dungeon when I want to but it's quite boring when it requires only one item to beat. At least make the dungeons have some extra segments for optional treasures where you need to use one of the items outside Ravio's "Plot Progression Sale".

I wouldn't say it is as much as a "reflection" as it is "decomposition". Its a "what if Hyrule destroyed the Triforce" scenarion and I like it.
It answers "Why not just destroy the Triforce so no jackass can use it for evil?" question in a interesting manner, by actually showing what would happen. I also like how Hilda and Ravio kinda fit into the "decomposition" theme aswell, with Ravio being a coward with no spine to stop Hilda's and Yuga's plan (in opposite to Link being the posterboy of courage) and Hilda deciding to go the egoism route and trying to fix Lorule by screwing over Hyrule (I'd say it is the opposite of the normal Zelda character of being kind and altruistic, but I even I dont think it bounces well enough from this Zelda). I'd like to say Yuga is an opposite of Ganon's common depictions, by being a skinny pale guy while Ganon is the King of All Gains, by getting to his position of power trough trickery while Ganon just powers his way to it, but Ganon himself is a cunning character most of the time and Yuga doesn't have much of character aswell, so I think I'm just grasping at straws for my autistic headcanon.

I teared up the ending I am glad they got their triforce back :')
>tfw game proves you can literally wish for infinite wishes using the triforce

Attached: 71855c29c41de5e65c523397fdead21e.jpg (1060x1350, 171K)

I was about to correct you but holy shit she doesn't actually have a boss battle, you just fight Yuga-Ganon twice. That's a disappointment.

>boss fight with hilda
>her clothes get progressively more damaged and torn during the battle and when you beat her she´s wearing almost nothing

Attached: 2dd.jpg (300x300, 15K)

Please describe the phases in intimate detail, user
Asking for a friend

Literally just started playing it for the first time on Wednesday. Absolute kino so far.

Have you ever played a flash game by JSK?That´s basically it
>In the first phase she´s fully clothed, obviously
>After a few slashes the shoulder straps get cut and the top part of the dress now hangs below her belt, revealing her lacy bra. Hilda accuses you when she asks if you did that intentionally, she´s angrier now so this is where the second phase starts
>In the second phase she uses an ice spell that you counter with your fire rod. The fire spreads to the bottom of her dress and burns it all the way to her belt, revealing her matching panties.
>The third phase is the last phase. As a last resort, Hilda attempts to rush you but slips on a bit of ice that hadn´t melted. She´s now face down, ass up and almost naked. I´ll leave what happens next to your imagination.

ALBW is unironically the best Zelda because it's the only one that plays/runs smoothly. The controls and framerate are so nice. The actual content is fairly solid too, albeit a bit too easy (the hero difficulty just makes every enemy two-shot you, which does force you to pay attention but is really lazy).

The game's biggest flaw is its overreliance on LttP nostalgia. I was hoping for a sequel that actually had a unique setting, but then they announced the LA remake.

>Also, should I get the 3DS versions of OoT and MM? Those are the only two 3D Zeldas I haven't played.

Yes, those are the definitive versions to play. The only ones that complain about it are nostalgiafags that prefer the N64 versions because thats the first version they played. The 3DS versions fix most of the issues from the original games by using the second screen for items, which makes the games more fluent and more pleasant to play.

Dungeons are god tier. Sadly the game is way too easy.

But they're in Hyrule Warriors my man

I never would have finished it if it wasn't on a handheld. Zelda games are so formulaic, predictable, and easy that it's hard to stay interested.

It got overshadowed by a console Zelda game, as always happens. I loved it. First real Zelda game in over a decade. And I'm just as thrilled by the Zelda we got in Smash Bros.

Pure garbage. Literally the worst Zelda game in existence, since the CD-i games at least have comedic value. Tri Force Heroes is a really bad game that relies on online to go through the missions, extremely poor singleplayer integration (which makes no sense because Four Swords Adventures had perfect singleplayer integration so how did Nintendo fuck this up) and you are reliant on the whims of randoms to get through the stages.

I wish I could hate this game out of existence.

>Gossiping man says Zelda has a nightly ritual where she stares at a painting of a previous Link and Zelda cuddling romantically before going to bed

Way better than Four Swords if you have a full party to play with, don't bother otherwise.

It's a shame we'll never get a console version of this, the puzzle and boss designs are genius

>Oh, that princess... She's quite an interesting one, let me tell you. You wanna hear something juicy? When we reach a certain age, even the princess comes to a point where she has love on her mind, right...? [Of course!] OK, WELL... You didn't hear it from me, but every night the princess goes on a little excursion inside the castle. Her maids say that she's secretly meeting someone. Apparently, she's not very good at the "secretly" part. So, one night, someone gave in to the delicious temptation of curiosity and decided to follow the princess... And guess what happened! [What happened?] The princess stopped in front of a large painting on display in the center of the castle. And she stood there just staring up at the painting for 10 minutes. And then went back to her room. Just like that! So when the person following her went to inspect the painting... You'll never guess what happened! That painting...? [What?] This painting was of a hero and princess from several generations ago cuddling in one another's arms... This person following her--it wasn't me, I swear--continued to follow her every night! Creepy. And it was the same thing every time! Princess Zelda would just stare at the picture night after night... Not a very exciting end, I suppose. Maybe that's not so juicy after all. Oh well. They can't all be overripe fruit! The painting brought out a look of such admiration that had never been seen before in the princess. Now you've heard it. Go on, now. That gossip ain't gonna spread itself!"

>ALBW is unironically the best Zelda because it's the only one that plays/runs smoothly.

Attached: kodak-black.jpg (386x386, 27K)

I always thought it was neat how if you merge with the wall in the room right before the final battle in Lorule Castle, you can see 16 bit hyrule out the window

because it fucking sucks

>I have no friends

>3ds demakes
>definitive versions to play

Attached: 86iq.jpg (1066x600, 68K)

>Needing more than 1 friend to play a multiplayer Zelda game
Even Four Swords was better than this, and that game generally let you run at your own pace until you get to a combo puzzle.

>I don't have friends

>I can't read

I liked how you had most of the items accessible from the start of the game. It made the overworld much more interesting since there were tons of actual puzzles for pieces of heart and stuff, as opposed to the puzzle being "lol you need the hookshot".

Come to think of it, I bet that gameplay idea is what gave them the idea to give you all of your powers out of the gate in BOTW, as opposed to giving you one per dungeon or whatever.

It's true.
Compared to ALBW, every other Zelda is very clunky and rough. I'm not exaggerating, compare and contrast yourself if you don't believe me. ALBW is the only mainline Zelda that's natively 60 FPS.

>I don't have more than one friend

>I
>can't
>read

Yeah, I felt like the internal pacing of the dungeons was a lot more organic than it had been in previous Zelda games. Usually you have an interesting mix of puzzles and then you get the item and all of the sudden the solution to every puzzle and the boss is "use the item you just got".

The structure's impact on the difficulty curve is admittedly somewhat disappointing but it did lots of things that I appreciated.

it was mediocre as heck

>I can't say anything negative about the best Zelda game besides the fact that I couldn't play it

Drop it dude not everyone has to like the same games and you're bringing the thread down

Because it's actually good. Yea Forums doesn't like to talk about actual good games. They just like to shitpost about mediocre games.

>"Zelda fans"
>playing games other than Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and BoTW
I'm pretty sure most Zelda fans these days don't even play the 2D games.

I'm not the user who wants to will a work of art out of existence just for being a pleb

Attached: smug.gif (88x128, 103K)

It's the kind of game where you play it, enjoy yourself, say to yourself "that was a good game" when it's over, maybe pick it back up later to do something like a three heart run, and that's about it. You'll see a screenshot or video years later and reminisce, but the game doesn't have much of a lasting impact beyond that. It doesn't excel in a notable way, it's not controversial. I'm personally looking forward to the Link's Awakening remake, but if there's an ALBW remake in 2039, I probably wouldn't even consider it.

It's really fucking good, even more so when you do a hero mode run.
The rental system is excellent, loved the stamina meter, the wall gimmick is pretty good for what it is and dungeons are elder god tier.
Hell it even got top tier waifus.

Attached: 1530203227556.jpg (1155x1537, 1.61M)

>dungeons are elder god tier
I agree with most of this post, but I don't think I'd go this far. They're on the short side, they kinda feel like they become over quickly. They certainly have some fantastic ideas, and the aesthetic is top notch, but they still don't quite feel fully-realized to me, and elder god tier feels like a definite stretch.

It's really great and everyone should play it, but I don't have much more to say about it than that

Fair enough, the dungeons are indeed short but there are quite a lot of them, so it balances out imo.

Yeah, the end result is you still definitely get much more dungeon content than, say, Wind Waker, it's just broken up into smaller pieces. The good thing is that not a single one of them is bad, they're all positive.

Because it's years old.
I liked it a lot, but it's not like it was revolutionary.
