I feel like this game would never get a true ground up sequel. I kinda wish there were like a side B Vanillaware team that just did stuff like said and just kept adding it on to future ports of Dragon's Crown. Having DC on PS4 was cool, but it really didn't add anything new to the game.

Why doesn't this game ever make top beat em up mentions? I played so many of the olders and love them, but I don't ever see anyone throw Dragon's Crown up as a top mention for beat em ups? Is it just people are so unwilling to praise something recent?

Well I love the grappling dwarf and was trying to think of what could be done in that area that would still be fun. Im thinking half orc that grapples and keeps hold of enemies so you can then wield them bodily as weapons to smash other enemies. You can use a limited use item (a shovel I suppose) to create stage themed items out of the ground that mimic the ability so you are not stuck against elites or singular bosses. Normal enemies do nothing special but anytime it makes sense let the wielded enemies have special effects. Insects do poison, basilisks do stone, demons do fire, wizards explode etc.

Basically I just want to see a huge fuck beat a batch of enemies to death with one of their own.

There's an option in the settings to disable some of these effects.

More "dungeoneering", semi-random environments with hidden secrets, alternate paths, riddles and traps, along with a variety of tools and utility-based spells available to the players that allow them to get around such things in their own way.

The cooking game was one of the best parts of long runs.

Seduce the bar maid event. She will say stuff and all the possible responses appear with each one vanishing after it gets picked. Points for being relevant, funny and not taking too long to decide. You can gift her single valuable gems or jewelry you found during your last run. Lastly swipe the boasts thing from fable and get some bonus immediately for declaring these challenges (no deaths, no more than 1 knockdown, fast boss kill etc) and if you dont achieve any boasts you get locked out of the next round of seduce the bar maid.

I didn't even dislike it, it was good fun and had some useful effects. I just found it to be inconvenient a lot of the time. Sometimes I just want to blow through a bunch of dungeons for some comfy loot runs and having to take a mandatory 2 minute break every 3 just got in the way. Hell I would even settle for an option to just skip it at the player's discretion.

I think the stat boosts made it well worth it, but it really is just personal preference. A skip option definitely should have been present.
