Seven Pairs tends to work way too much.

I also try getting chiitoitsu all the time too, the difference is that whenever I do that I keep discarding tiles that I draw later on, while the tiles I choose to keep are never drawn again
And by the time I realize that there's like only 20 tiles left so it's too late for toitoi as well

Sounds like you should go for open toitoi more often.
Easy to get a wind or dragon triple alongside, so you'll get way more expensive hands with barely more "risk".

The risk is that people will see what you're doing and discard only safe tiles

I do go for open toitoi when I get these kinds of draws while I'm the dealer or when I'm ahead by a lot.

I hit expert 3 and now I'm -700 points, I keep getting last, maybe third, occasionally first, but usually last. I just cant even complete a hand anymore. When I do, it's in the first round, then I got ronned later. I just dont know what the fuck to do. This game has taken too much of my soul. I only win in friendly rooms.

Memorize what yaku you can go for. Tanyao, Chanta, and Junchan are easy ones you can get while also calling tiles. There's also the Dragons and Seat/Prevalent Winds, too. If you're smart, though, you can keep your hand closed and go for Pinfu or a lot of other combinations of yaku.
