How would Linux have to improve in order for you to start using it?
Hard mode: using it to play video games?
Linux gaming thread
Just get a decent gaming pc, install Arch (or Manjaro if you're a scrub), Wine, Lutris and Steam and you're good to go.
Sage.
Linux can't improve.
They would have to literally merge with Windows.
Wine is improving a lot, fix Freesync on multi monitor setups. Linux audio is a bigger pain in the ass to deal with.
I use it as my daily driver for programming and misc computer stuff, but gaming just use Windows. Linux gaming has gotten a lot better since steam started backing it but most games still require a lot of work
Hardware support that matches or surpasses Windows. That's literally it. Linux already handles laptops fantastic, but desktops and their massive array of parts combos lead to all sorts of 'fun' combinations because you're using some uncommon setup supported by exactly one driver developed by a guy named Paul who last updated its repo seven months ago.
Also audio. Fuck Pulseaudio and fuck ALSA.
ok, now, I'm interested, what's the logic behind this borderline retarded post
> Linux audio is a bigger pain in the ass to deal with.
But it's not? Pulseaudio just works and pavucontrol is simpler to use than Windows' audio configuration.
It already has better hardware support than Windows
Boot a non-free Linux live CD on a computer and you will get fully supported graphics and networking and audio out of the box
You can't say the same for Windows.

Drivers are in the kernel retard, you have no clue how Linux systems work.
I would have to not break every time I try to install something and require less than 48 hours of fiddling to get it working again.
fucking Paul. Why did he just abandon his shit? Did he die or something?
I hope that someone with enough knowledge and balls comes and continues Paul's work.
