What are your favorite games in the genre and how would you fix the genre? Here are some examples:
>Anarchy Reigns >Tenkaichi/Raging Blast >Xenoverse >Gundam VS >Ultimate Ninja Storm >One Piece Burning Blood >J-Stars/Jump Force >Rise of Incarnates >Power Stone >Virtua-On >Pokken Tournament >Shrek Super Slam >Arms
Good games, but definitely need more combo variety.
Nolan King
Ultimate Ninja Storm games are the best in that list. Underrated games in my opinion.
Andrew Hill
Man, what the hell were CC2 doing when they made Eyes of Heaven? All they had to do was make UNS but with Jojo characters. How and why the FUCK did they not just do that?
Mugen's a traditional fighting engine, not an arena fighter. Arena fighters are all about fighting in large, 3D arenas, either with an over-the-shoulder view or an isometric view.
Jeremiah Powell
What does Gundam VS do that other arena fighters can't? What makes it competitive?
Isaiah Powell
There needs to be more kaiju fighters
Ryder Ross
So Super DBZ?
Caleb Robinson
It takes itself seriously as a fighter rather than just be an excuse to make a shitty brawler with PvP focus
John Butler
Did anything come out of Jump Forces PC port being the project file itself? Someone taking that and turning it into arena Mugen would be dope
Mason Green
I think they mean that the characters and roster are created from scratch. Still though, Super DBZ is a great game.
Sry but War of the Monsters is the best Kaiju game.
Easton Moore
GVS is the worst of the EXVS series and it's still the best offering the genre has on consoles.
It's frustrating to know that a GVS revival is totally doable and wouldn't hurt EXVS2 sales at all. Do a rebalance, offer an unlock key for assists, slash DLC prices in half, and offer a F2P option with rotating units.
Ethan Edwards
Man, why couldn't they just expand on this roster? I didn't want Shonen Jump Infinity War, I wanted J-Stars 2 with tighter controls and a bigger roster.
They inevitably devolve into rock-paper-scissors, spamming, or 2v1.
Gundam vs is probably the closest to being not shit with its dash canceling and meter management though.
Evan Perry
Can someone redpill me on the UNS series. I know there's a competitive scene but playing the games I don't see the depth other than the mind games you could play with substitution management and some surprising variety in abilities
Colton Evans
It's really not that deep. Like Clash of Ninja back on the GC had more depth than any Storm game.
VO, ARMS and Pokken are legit because those games are treated as real fighters tho if I'm being real here VO feels closer to an arena shooter.
Hunter Clark
Heroes VS is a pretty fun game with a unique card system, really hope they make a sequel of it eventually.
my hero one's justice is the best arena fighter of the generation, but people skipped out on it because the story mode sucks.
Mason Ortiz
It shows Byking are shit if anything and everyone good from there left for VSTG
Christian Thompson
game's good tho
Wyatt Green
Super Climax Heroes was great for a while, but the gameplay's just too shallow to keep me playing for long and I'd like to play around with some of the newer shit too. Just imagine the kind of things we could do with Build using a similar, but customizable, system to what W has in SCH. Having a selection of 6 or so fullbottles and being able to switch between them on the fly would be fantastic.
