No. I mean she was a valuable character for the series, but by design she wasn't helpful in-universe or even Sonic's friend. Back then Sonic was a loner rebel who had a lot of friends but left them all behind unless they could keep up (Tails). Amy was a character that Sonic detests, and she would put herself in danger just to be near him, then he would save her even though he doesn't like her. It was to show Sonic's priorities and emphasize how incredibly skilled he is at what he does. Now she's just "token girl ally" which is really shallow and boring.

Boom Amy is great.... in Boom. If they transferred Boom Amy to the modern games as is, she'd be a lame stick in the mud. She works in Boom because her personality is molded for the more grounded universe that Boom is, and because she bounces well with the rest of the cast. Plus she definitely wouldnt fit with the way more adventurous modern cast.
