As someone who never played a Persona game, and only seen small snips of it online/on Yea Forums. I got a question.
To rank up your confidants, you spend time with the relating character that is related to that confidant. You gain boosts to stats/discounts or some sort of QoL.
However, once you beaten the game once and know what the best ones to level up and when, doesn't it break as a social sim?

It seems like all the "social" aspects and becomes a numbers game to min max stats as early as possible.

S-links in P3/4 were mostly cosmetic ways of spending time inbetween dungeon crawling. The only real bonus you got was bonus EXP for your Personas when you fused them depending on how far you were in a specific link and then the ability to fuse an ultimate persona after finishing the link.
What you said is entirely the case for P5 though since confidants give very real and depending on the character potent abilities outside of just Persona fusion bonuses.

Yaldy is still going to be the end boss because if he wasn't that'd fuck up the pacing and you logically wouldn't be able to have access to fusion anymore.

Joker not going to prison after Christmas breaks the original game's ending already so I don't see why it's an issue. It's not like Lavenza couldn't handle fusion on her own without Igor.
Likely we're going to get a new dungeon for Kasumi within the time frame of the original game, then a new final dungeon in Jan or Feb with Sophia as the new final boss.
