Okay, why do people hate this game...

Okay, why do people hate this game? This game was fucking awesome! I know every Sonic game is hated by the Sonic fandom but I don't get why people hate this.
I know you're gonna hate me for coming from Yea Forums to express my hatred to the Sonic fandom but seriously, why the fuck do people hate this game!?

I hate it solely because they call it a werehog

Werehog parts are boring but fuck i love the regular sonic parts. I say its a 7/10 ay worse.

Also final boss was awesome

I love it solely because they call it a werehog
But that's just my fetish speaking.

Day time stages are good
Night time stages suck

Because it's half of a good game. Sonic Team is incapable of making a game without something added that makes the experience worse

Because they're brainlets.
Same reason people hate Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts.

>Night time stages suck

The majority of the game is werehog levels that make the knuckles/rouge levels in SA look amazing in comparison. The combat is repetitive and the platforming is a nightmare and for that reason most people agree they are bad. So right out of the gate 3/5ths of the game is gonna suck balls disqualifying it from being a good game.
The daytime gameplay is extremely overrated since you basically just hold forward and press buttons when prompted, there's no subtlety to the level design, the bosses are atrocious, the boost mechanic is fucking awful. Sometimes when everything is flowing it becomes fun and you actually get that sense of speed that makes sonic games worth suffering through but those moments are rare. Overall 3/10

N&B was fun but it shouldn't have been billed as Banjo 3. If it were a spinoff being made alongside the real 3 it wouldn't have been shit on like it was.

This guys knows what up

Still better than Sonic Generation's take on Daytime stages.

For some reason Sega feels the need to nerf rank challenge whenever they attempt open-ended level design due to fags whining about "lol hallways".

played the wii version and it was alright but i was not a fan of the content that got cut.

was thinking of getting it on ps3 but i heard that version was awful (bayonetta one kind off awful)

>the platforming is a nightmare
How?

Sega is great at taking a good concept and slowly stripping away its nuance until it's awful.
>Sonic Adventure played great, SA2 was a more simplified version and had more of the shit bits. Sonic Heroes controlled like arse, Sonic 06 was awful.
>Sonic Unleashed is the best the series has ever looked, and better than people give it credit for. Sonic Colours was dumbed down and boring to play. Sonic Generations was a bit better but a downgrade from Unleashed. Sonic Forces was so barren.
They're masters of idiotic decisions too. Did you know that Sonic Forces is built off the Sonic Lost World gameplay engine, not Generations?

You mostly just run from point A to point B punctuated by mind-numbing mob fights, otherwise you're just doing basic 3d platforming shit, you climb poles, hang from stuff, swing around between flying faggots, and try not to fall in pits that are everywhere. There's nothing fun or interesting about it, it's not engaging at all.

Is Sega the most cucked company of the industry?

This game is over 10 years old
Fuck, I remember seeing the teaser trailer and getting hype

Because people bash the werehog levels for being 20 minutes long when 90% of them are like 8 minutes long. Those people also say the werehog in general is bad when the gameplay is solid, much more than previous titles with unpolished gameplay when different styles were a thing.

This was the last the Sonic game that had a budget and tried things like a story, a world that had charm and amazing enviroments that 10 years are still loved like fucking Rooftop Run. And the soundtrack was amazing, that fucking E Rank theme was hilarious

>Fuck, I remember seeing the teaser trailer and getting hype
Fucking this
I mean look at it and tell me this isn't one of the best trailers sega has ever uttered

They even made the werehog look hype

No. That is what happens when you dont pay right when others do the job well, people leave and get a better one.

It's the last game that had any sort of challenge too. It's probably the only game where getting S ranks are harder than just not dying in a stage, and optional stuff such as the hotdog missions really tested you.

That trailer is 10/10. It really hypes the game right

>hotdog stands

Jesus christ. I still havent done the Eggmanland one which is one the only thing from platinum the game.

Also, the 2d sections were alright and not the shitty Kishimoto blocky idea that started with Colors.

>Also, the 2d sections were alright and not the shitty Kishimoto blocky idea that started with Colors.
It helps that the 2D Sections also controlled far better than any of the games that came after. Even Generations 2D sections are lacking in polish.

I've done the Eggmanland ones, they're not as bad as they seem. You might struggle doing the first one as you learn it, but eventually you'll get it.
>On the first set of rails go right, then take the shortcut way to get to the werehog section.
>Try not to rush the bobsled section, trying to go fast will probably kill you.
>Be very trepidatious in the werehog section after that - in the first room take the most direct route, go slowly, as you have more than enough time.
>In the second room, take the bottom path on the pipes as it's much safer.
>Skip as many fights as you can, and just take your time. Make sure to take the walljump shortcut to skip part of the werehog section after the big conveyor belt section.

>REEEEEEEEEEE I HATE SINCERITY AND SOUL AND FUN! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

They could've at least changed the combat music based on location, desu.
