That game never saved the franchise but based on sales figures I've seen I can say it was the last game to actually have people care about it.
Sophie sold well, since it however every Atelier release has not broken the 0-20K range anymore

Too true sadly, Koei Tecmo have shown little innovation or desire to even take risks like any other game dev.
Even the Neptunia franchise at least tries to shape things up a bit with some releases such as 4 Goddesses and the action slash one

Age doesn't really determine if it's a loli or not, you can have girls like Taiga Aisaka or even eternal lolis, it's all about body type.
