What went wrong?

What went wrong?

I don't think a single Nintendo IP has ever fallen off the map the way ARMS has.

>I don't think a single Nintendo IP has ever fallen off the map the way ARMS has.

Chibi-Robo
Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan
Drill Dozer
Sin & Punishment
Golden Sun

I can keep going if you’d like.

Pokken is better.

The single player experience is very shallow and there's no exciting narrative backing the character designs, which is a shame because I think they're extremely good.
Anyway the game itself is good but as a spectator game it's kinda slow. Maybe Arms 2 can flourish off the 1 million people who bought Arms.

Didn't this game do pretty good for a new ip? Could have sworn it broke a million from them.

Lol.

Try Codename STEAM, Ever Oasis or Sushi Striker.

It only sold two million, which is not a whole lot.

All of those except Drill Dozer at least have more than one game.

Ever Oasis only failed because it came out around the time Switch was brand new and 3DS was dying

Wasn't it a million seller?

Who?

It has outsold every Dillon game, which consists of 3 games so far

2.12 last time Nintendo updated its sales.

All of the lore is stuffed in the gallery which is neat.

Nothing, really. There will be a sequel at some point.

>Reggie says why make a game if it's not fun
>Nintendo makes Arms

it was fucking boring and was only played because it came out with the switch

Attached: Untitled-1.jpg (375x375, 60K)

I'd posit that it failed because it was mediocre and failed to stand out.

I honestly think the grab mechanic hurt it a lot.

People here forgetting Rusty's Real Deal Baseball and how literally nobody played it and it was to the point where one of the characters had zero google results.

>3ds eshop game

you're surprised ?

BoxBoy sold more and even got a Switch game

The character design. Shit was just alien and weird, it was never going to have the same kind of charm and kid appeal as Splatoon despite the cartoony aesthetic.

Not at all desu.

The funny thing is that it probably sold around P5 sales while being a full price game about springy armed characters punching each other with a total of 6 moves across all characters and likely costing 2% as much to make, yet one is a smash hit, and the other is apparently a flop.

Also, I like the game, but I think they dropped the ball with events and some modes were just badly executed, like the hoops one.

that was developed by HAL dummy

Pokken was too deep for its audience of drooling Kids who can't get past a entry level JRPG without hours of tutorials whilr simultaneously not providing much for the FG enthusiasts.

Arms is only two years old though.

Pokkenbabies in full COPE mode I see

I thought it was pretty fun and I liked playing online. I used to play a lot of Master Mummy and Max Brass but eventually played Springtron and Twintella. I'm guessing it never caught on because it wasn't complicated enough but I still like the aesthetic a lot. I hope there'll eventually be a sequel

So it outsold xeno 2? Sounds pretty great to me for a new ip

I think the online dropped off because of retards spamming grab.
It’s a problem for newer players who don’t know how to deal with it, and it’s boring for people who want the fun of the mind games of curving punches.
Also, the casual play room is infinitely more fun and just better designed than the ranked mode, which is why no one fucking played ranked.

It really sucks because other simpler fighting games became more popular like DBZ, and Pokken was probably one of the best balanced fighters I ever saw.

From the demo it felt like it was trying to be the Splatoon of the Switch but wasn’t as unique of a concept and overall felt rushed. Plus Punch Out/Wii Sports already exists.

Which is fun as fuck.

>sells 2.12 million
>gets shitload of fanart
Ha

It wasnt a launch title moron

Splatoon 2 waiting room

Yeah fuck
>sells more than P5
>sells more than Xenoblade 2
> while being a cheap new IP
>this is considered a flop
On top of that, the game was fun, I would be all in for a sequel.

Why is Yea Forums so obsessed with declaring this game a flop?

because they don't have anything to play on their shitty snoy console

Good ass theme still
WOOOAHHHOOAHH

I mean it sold well enough

The core game stuff just needed to be better executed, and with more shit to do. This could've have potentially happened, but man they ended support for this game way too early I think

maybe someday we'll get a better sequel or something

>Sold 2 million units
>As an fighting Ip before Smash

>Somehow this failed

Is this a joke or just shitposting?

Yeah. Could be better, and the modes need work, but the core gameplay is solid.

Shitposting, it has been going for more than one year.

What are Codename STEAM, Sushi Strikers, Ever Oasis to name a few in the last 5 years.

Ever Oasis fell off the map?

because tortanic

One week from now will be the finals of the Party Crash Bash, which will likely be the last online event the game gets. Who are you rooting for?

You don't see threads talking about it do you? You most certainly see Nintendo or Grezzo bringing it up.

What is Grezzo even working on? I liked the game but it is one of those one and done games due to poor retention rate.

I still hope Nintendo let's Grezzo continue to work on original games or perhaps a sequel instead of more Zelda remakes.

>What is Grezzo even working on?
Link's Awakening remake.

Codename S.T.E.A.M.

God Minmin was love at first sight.

I've only played the demo but I was honestly surprised by how polished and good it looked.
Seem pretty fun too, more so than I was expecting for a gimmick game. Thinking about getting a copy because the local multiplayer seems fun.

It's not listed on their wiki page. Got a source? Pretty sure one of the in-house studios is working on that project.

DUDE I SAW THAT YOUTUBE VIDEO TOO xD

It isn't officially announced, but it has to be them: ign.com/articles/2017/11/07/zelda-remake-studio-hiring-for-new-legend-project

not enough content

Codename STEAM was just tragic
>behind closed doors announcement
>explicitly stated to be about a new IP
>DUDE ZELDA LMAO WHERE'S MAJORA'S MASK WE'RE GETTING THE REMAKE RIGHT WE FUCKING DID IT BOYS
>game gets officially revealed
>press walks out the door because it isn't a remake to a 15 year old game
>remake actually ends up coming out years later
>no one cares
>it's not even the definitive version of the game

A shame if it is because I really liked the potential of Ever Oasis and the mix of keeping up shops while doing dungeon exploring was fun but could use polish that a sequel would definitely fix.

Nothing went wrong, stores (here at least) can't keep this game on the shelf. This had the highest trade in rate at Gamestop of any cart I've ever heard of.
I know lots of people that love and play this game.
Twintelle a best

Attached: twintelle.png (1366x699, 1.17M)

Was the game better than the demo? Thats what lost me with the ungodly pacing having to wait like 5 minutes for the enemy turn.

They added in a speed enemy turn option via patch IIRC.

You can double turn speed on OG 3DS and triple it on New 3DS.

why they didn't add a fast forward patch from the start when Awakening had it bothers me

>fallen off the map
>Golden Sun

... I got sushi striker cos it's op song was real good. I'm just sad that in mp you couldn't choose any of the characters to represent you and just had the basic mcs. Small gripe though... I also loved the character designs, especially the 3 leaders.

>Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan
> Golden Sun
are you sure about that ?

What the ick is "tortanic".

And?

It's fun but there just isn't a whole lot to it. Nothing much to discuss after the characters were revealed although that was pretty fun, not a whole lot of ways to 'progress' other than getting new gloves, which was okay, but there really just wasn't enough things to do.

The only true flops Nintendo had recently are.
>Codename steam
>Ever oasis
>Sushi strikers
ARMS is not one of them.
