Starting off with the GOAT
ITT: Good Licensed Games
That disney skateboarding game
What's the best track in the game and why is it Al's Penthouse
Why ask all the obvious questions OP?
Bugs Bunny Lost in Time
>Not Alleys and Gullies
makes me curious if the actual movie is any good
I can't believe this came out 10 years ago
Close, but no
youtube.com
based and Jackie Chan
legit a good game, though, despite the memes.
This was the only other acceptable answer
It's good but not the best
Tiananmen Square
That song pisses me off since it reminds me too much of how I kept falling of that damned tree as a kid
t. fell off the tree
indeed, and good taste once again
Metal Gear Sheep
Was I the only one who played this gem?
I don't play tranny games like vtmb, fuck off.
...
what about Metal Gear Chicken?
No. It was very good. That Pizza Planet track was great
>when the stealth sections are the best part of the game
I played the demo
It was shit
I loved this one.
yeah it was obviously a movie tie-in game, but was also its' own thing, and not just a cash grab. like it was the spiderman movie game, but also just a spiderman game, and took liberties with the movie license, hence why we got those awesome stealth levels.
I liked that they introduced comic book villains in a Raimi aesthetic.
legit good games,i dont get why licensed games are automatically deemed horrible, these are great
Stand aside losers
Prisoner of Azkaban gba.
Holy shit I don't remember that track being that good
Return of the King and The Two Towers were great hack n slash games.
this was fun in co-op.
god the venom banter was fucking amazing.
Here's a less obvious answer
These games were too hard for me and I never finished them. I think I quit after the exploding orcs at Helm's Deep. I gave up before even meeting the Balrog in third age. In ROTK the king of the dead kept killing me so I stopped.
my friend laughed at me when I said this is one of the greatest PS1 games
>These games were too hard for me
wat. they were easy as fuck. the third age was actually quite challenging though, but the hack n slash games were easy, especially the king of the dead level.
King Kong game is undisputed champ of “games based of movie”
However “licensed game” is pretty broad, and you could technically include stuff like Simpsons Hit and Run, or any Spiderman game (PS4 spider man would be contender for best licensed game, as would Spider-Man 2).
My personal favourite is the Ps1 game based off of the animated Buzz Lightyear cartoon. It was basically a proto-Ratchet and Clank, each level was a different planet, long gauntlet of enemies and light 3D Platforming you had to get through with a variety of guns and vechiles with a boss at the end.
what was so good about the king kong game? i keep hearing about it, and i remember it being one of the first next gen games.
I was 7
gonna have to replay this
i beat mmx5 when i was 8,where's my prize??
i was 13.
When was the last time there was a good game based off a movie? It seems there hasn't been a good one in years since they all shifted to becoming mobileshit
I wanted to post the exact same thing. Shit was great. Lego Racers as well.
AAAAAAAAA
the PS1 Harry Potter games were my favourites growing up
they're so god damn comfy it's unbelievable. if I want to feel better I can just play them for the 4-6 hours it takes to complete each game.
WHEN THERES SOMETHING STRANGE
IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
WHO YA GONNA CALL
ghostbusters
Love this game still play it quite a bit.
This game right here and Tarzan for ps1 was a decent platformer as well.
BASED
>Third age was challenging
>You learn the spell that brings you back to life instantly with a free action not even a third into the game.
I liked third age but the balance was fucked. If you did any side missions you'd steamroll everything in the game, if you ignored them you'd still be overlevelled
My nigga
Don't forget me!
Fuck yeah. Spent so many hours playing the rooftop multiplayer mode with my custom team of hobos and vagrants. great fucking game
NO TIME TO LOSE
one of the best games I ever played.
this one was great too
don't forget the book tie-ins.
God damn, I do not think of the At World's End movie as being within the PS2's life cycle.
What the fuck happened to Licensed games???? why aren't they a thing anymore
So basically every Disney ps1 game? How about the little mermaid 2?
great taste
>we will never have a plethora of licensed games again
I want out
I can't believe nobody has posted Bugs yet
the whole Riddick trilogy(Pitch Black, your pic but the movie and Riddick) is fun
Based nostalgia thread
this game holds up better than i expected
This game is great.
Probably because it was constantly drowned out in game by plane *BBBBRRRTTT*ing
They're all on mobile now and they are all shit
fuck off back to china you demon whore
i had the demo, kinda hoped for the full game as kid but never got one :(
Holy shit you're based.
Many of the Genesis Capcom games. Toy Story's genesis game was also pretty good
>play the demo of that on some Xbox disc
>Andy's room
>fun as shit
>never bought it
Fuck.
Who else remembers this?
And now it's getting re-released for the current consoles. Nice.
Fuck anyone who says the Genesis version.
This gem
I prefer the environment and gameplay in the SNES version, the ost is better in Megadrive tho.
is this 1v100? i won like 100 microsoft points off that once
they really went all in on marketing this
i wish the bond games were on pc, it'd be so much easier to play with mouse and keyboard
Actually really really good stealth/puzzle/platformer
It is. How did they even choose who the 1 is?
Pitch Black, and Chronicles are top tier. The last one though is kinda generic.
One of the hardest games I played as kid, especially when trying to get those extra points
Oh shit, you beat me to it. Yeah it's pretty fucking good. Also this one was fun
No mentions of this yet?
I will shill this game to my dying day it is max comfy gbc kinorama
Step aside, plebs
This had no right to be great
I miss looking forward to Bond games. There was a good bunch of them released in the post-Goldeneye era.
i have overwhelming nostalgia for this game, it think it might be the first game i ever played
The Warriors
DragonBall Z: Hyper Dimension
DragonBall: Advanced Adventure
Astro Boy: Omega Factor
007 Nightfire
Goldeneye
James Bond is perfect videogame material. I feel like the definitive Bond game still hasn't been made. Goldeneye is good but it doesn't have that many gadgets or cool driving segments.
i remember the xbox ver. being really weird about it
>picks a 1
>picks 100 people to go against the 1 and potentially win prizes too
>everyone else just kinda participates without influencing anything
my memory is pretty hazy
i really enjoyed Everything or Nothing and From Russia With Love
playing as sean connery bond was so nice
Kino Ost
Had this on pc and was a lot of fun.
I remember that I couldn't finish the Jaguar chase level because I didn't have the reflexes to smash the button fast enough so I asked my dad to help me
Everything or Nothing is the best Bond game
Am I the only one who played this game?
The multiplayer was a blast
I'm still impressed that the devs managed to turn Quidditch's nonsense rules into something actually fun and playable.
any variation of the first three potter movies-as-games are pretty goat and unique. Id honestly love ps4/5 ports of either the ps1 versions or pc versions of the first two.
Most Star Wars games
thats a based as shit font-type tbdesu
lucasarts and their partners used to make some magic
WATCH
That's the second game
basd
Max comfyness
Weren't there special games where they would actually have the 1 talk to everyone? I could have sworn it wasn't always just the host talking
I had so much fun with this
1 and 2 are just two halves of the same whole
they do things so differently that one doesn't fully eclipse the other
so nyeh
Superb taste in this thread.
pretty sure the 1 and the selected 100 had opportunities to use their headset
Excellent game. Was too hard for me as a kid though
Why were PS1 era licenced games so good?
At which point did everything go wrong?
Nobody in the first one says WATCH THOSE WRISTROCKETS
So yah
This is one of the better cart racers imo.
How hasn't anyone said this yet?
Shame the lawsuit halted all future content cuz this game is leagues more enjoyable then DBDL
My nigger
Ben Kenobi was hilarious in Vs mode. I loved hitting the opponent with the back of the lightsabre
meant for this, fug
I always loved this movie but they never made a proper game out of it.
> PS1 version
weird meta fantasy world version with tons of backtracking for keycards except you have no idea where to go because everything takes in really fucking dark dungeons and caves
>Game Boy version
shitty adaptation of the movie where Archer literally carries a crossbow around that you can't use until you fight Chip at the end of the game so you're just jumping around trying to avoid everyone
How hard was it to just make a platformer / shooter fighting in the neighborhood in the movie?
Y'all fucks need to play this RIGHT NOW. I recently Gamera 2000 and it's a great panzer dragoon clone, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone talking about it.
Damn, I remember that game. Wasn't it also on SNES?
anyone else remember this kino?
>hard as fuck game
>played the shit as a kid
>die and repeat until I beat every level
>reach impossible level
>couldn’t pass no matter how hard I tried
>got tired and gave up
>many years later as an adult check walkthrough on youtube
>I was stuck on the last level
Fugggg
Game had no business being that fun and interesting
>ITT kids jerking off with their nostalgia boners
threads full of tradh game and only proves how bad taste Yea Forums really has.
Please tell us about your taste and show us what a good game is like
I remember this one, wasn't it a collectathon? Pretty fun.
Guess I'm watching Pitch Black tonight
>best level
the tree
>worst level
riverbed canyon
Try harder faggot
Based
This game is so cash. The combat, how the city changes with each act, the music done by the guy who did MGRR, the symbiote designs, absolute kino. Hell, the only thing that's not up to snuff is Spidey's voice actor, way to whiney. Would've prefered Josh Keaton or Christopher Daniel Barnes but whatever.
youtu.be
youtu.be
Trying to collect everything reeeee
this game is literally impossible to clear blind
especially when you don't speak english
or can't read at all
Alien triology
King kong
I too enjoyed the game's one song that didn't even loop properly
based
the wolverine fight was amazing how it handled your red and black points
This user knows his shit
HOLY FUCKING SHIT IS THAT REAL?
1000%
the Harry Potter RPG was great as well, as were the first two PS1 games. also this was perfectly playable with cheats
My sister and I played the fuck out of this game.
Based
Babby's first RTS. Remaster when?
Jurassic Park has had a good history with games. The SNES game was one of my first games and the first person segments in that still scare me. There was Lost World on Genesis and the Lost World arcade shooter, everyone loves those. And JPOG is a classic even if I think Evolution is now better in most aspects except the fucking hunting/combat and building placement.
I was pretty disappointed by Small Soldiers PS1. It just wasn't fun at all, even by my standards as a 7 year old.
PS1 jurassic park was insanely hard
I remember really liking the Shrek 2 video game
Did anyone else ever play the Atlantis the lost Empire game for PS1? I remember that one being petty good
>see this in another thread
>buy from sketchy key seller site
>install
>enter key to unlock
>unlock servers are dead, can't play
:(
The Punisher (2005 PS2 game)
Lord of the Rings: War in the North (2012 pc game)
Aliens versus Predator 2 (2002 pc game)
Ghostbusters (2008 game)
Jurassic World Evolution
Well I liked it, my dad played it with me all the time.
>no one posted the punisher
>not even hulk: ultimate destruction
cmon guys
how about torrenting the gog version of Dark Athena? it comes with the original
Pitch Black is good fun and quite novel for a horror flick at times, but Chronicles is absolute melodramatic garbage. Riddick is just Pitch Black again but worse (still better than Chronicles, though) plus he turns a lesbian in that movie.
This had no fucking right being as good as it was considering how much of an abortion that movie was.
That's a plan, I'll do that. Cheers for tip user.
>No Doug button
0/10 complete garbage
>Those Nokia ads.
I don't think it's amazing but it pioneered a few additions to the genre like a lack of heads up display and shit. The Jack segments are good enough survival horror-lite segments and you had the Kong segments which were third person beatemups. Nothing remarkable but you can't go wrong with Michel Ancel.
Toy Story 2's last two levels are bullshit.
the final boss is just three bosses at the same time without power ups nor health pick ups.
Cool Spot was pretty cool, imo.
I rented it, but I barely remember it.
Also how come no one has posted this.
I'm amazed with how well this holds up visually. Disney seemed to actually care about video games beyond Kingdom Hearts at one point.
This is one of the earliest instances of the Nintendo bonus I've seen. 64 version from memory got decent reviews but the PS1 version got roundly shat on when I think they were exactly the same game. As far as puzzle platformers go it was quite original with the seed mechanics and how intricate the levels were.
OH YEAH
I did, it was o but nothing special. A bit confusing as well and had very stiff controls.
SURF THE WEB SURF THE WEB
Was Lo Pan a Kuei-Jin?
I kind of miss licensed movie tie-ins. A lot of them were garbage but it was nice to see them make SOMETHING of an effort to market a film. Now it's just a Temple Run clone or maybe a Lego game (or DLC in a Lego game).
Got it on my 3ds. Aladdin SNES was one of my first games ever, got it for I think 3 year old xmas
Tfw Jedi Knight 4 never ever
Tfw no Bounty Hunter 2 never ever
Disney Magical Racing > Toy Story
Mickey's speedway USA was better
These. Im still looking for a decent priced punisher copy. PC remaster when netflix?
this game was a mess but there's no way you didn't have fun in free roam
>tfw when I first played it I unintentionally was farming experience easily just by fucking around
CRAZY
DUCK
IN
SPACE
fuck off back to china you demon whore
