Honestly, looked repulsive to me. The animations look like a stop motion childrens show I've watched a few times as a kid about a rag eating dust. It's horrific and HZD "jumping" gives me those same shivers.
The lighting feels fake. The prebaked global illumination makes time of day changes super intense and unnatural. The skin looks like streched out plastic. Characters are randomly placed in empty spaces with no logic. I could go on.
The game is simply repulsive looking.

I've had this game sitting on my shelf forever, is it worth getting into? is the gameplay/story fun? I love open world games and getting to experience the "see that mountain? you can climb it" shtick. does this game have that?

I just finished after having it sit in my ps4 for a year, definitely worth it. I ran around just killing things and exploring for hours. The present story is pretty good but the background story and world building built by the scannable objects is kino.
